- I had about 30 minutes to sneak in a quickie at Valmont Bike Park in Boulder, Colorado.
This place is a fantastic area to work on skills and just have fun watching other people ride bikes.

There are several other advanced lines for higher skill levels. I filmed this the day before being in my best friend's wedding so I played it safe and stayed on the easy stuff.

Very cool! Been there. Was my acclamation ride. Fun place, lots of options.
"Acclimation ride." I like that choice of words. That perfectly describes the kind of experience a bike park offers traveling/visiting riders to a new area. Aside from brushing up on jump skills, how to ride big berms and balance, there's the added benefit of being able to get used to the change in humidity, altitude and how our bikes handle on their soil. You can hear in the audio of the pump track footage that my tires are acting very different than in my Kansas City videos. There's a lot to learn and observe when it comes to understanding the soils of different riding zones.

It certainly was. I remember one of the jumps, I loaded up, sprung off the lip, balanced my trajectory, then promptly locked eyes on the last fading rays behind those mountains and I was in a very happy place.

I know right! That kid was super cool and doing his own thing. Shreddin' trails and having fun. I dig that kid's style.
Moving to Boulder, wanted to check out the park, ironically, moving from Kc!
Having a place like Valmont nearby would be a huge benefit to training. Being able to keep your jumping skills honed all year long? Sign me up! Congrats on the move...I'm assuming your couch is available for Horns High Mountain Biking visits? ;)
