X Base Cuff Quick Tutorial

- In this quick and simple video I show you how to make an X base cuff- one of the most versatile stitches used for many great designs and projects!

Perler videos: I make IRL pixel art using perler beads while talking about the process and my interest in the project.
Kandi videos: Usually educational, I teach people how to make rave kandi using pony beads and string! But sometimes I just like to show off :P

So you wanna take the string and pull it under the beads you’re on (I recommend doing it to the ones in front) but stop when you have a decent amount of string but also a loop
Take the piece of string and pull it through the loop
Repeat a few times to make it secure

Question mine does not build a cuff after add the two beads between the connectors but I WATHCED the video multiple times and I definitely followed the steps correctly and used the right string.
Ok I think I'm late to answer you but have you tried to pull tightly on the string? Because when I first started I didn't pulled on the string and it was flat but when I pulled on it it finally stand. So try to pull on the string X3 I hope it helps

Edit: I figured it out on my third try lol
Here’s a tip if it doesn’t fit just remove 3 beads and test if it fits if it doesn’t continue taking off 3 beads till it fits! Hope this helps

I have a problem with my bracelet every time I try to make a x base it turns out ruffled kinda it's hard to explain but it happens every time

I made this but it just doesnt stay in shape. Also ive tightened it just saying, maybe in using wrong tread, but looks the same and my tread is non elastic, but it can slightly stretch. Also i made the braclet with fewer beads on the start becouse it was too big fir my wrist is that the problem?
My thing is kind of wonky whenever I try to make it it becomes squished instead of flat. Is there a way to fix this?

Can I use elastic covered cord for this? Does it matter if its non elastic? Just curious about the difference!
I think for better outcome its better to use non elastic so it stays in shape

I use fabric covered elastic since that's all I got, @@lizzy980 but if you tie it tight enough, it looses some stretch and keeps in place. :) !! *don't forget to double tie ur bracelets, for security I quadrub mine!!*
Also elastic cover cord doesn’t form a cuff so it will be floppy trust me it’s happened to me it’s painful

Wdym “go from this last connector bead, to this last point bead” it just keeps undoing my progress
In the video I say "last connector bead to first point bead" not last point bead
This is a HORRIBLE tutorial. I'm neurodivergent and everything about this tutorial is distressing.
First of all, they used clear string, which is not only highly unprofessional, but also extremely bad for tutorials. Visual learners such as myself can't see the string as easily.
Second of all, this tutorial is rushed and it's so easy to tell.
Third of all, they don't show where you put the string through to go to another point, which is just stupid because now we can't tell where the string is supposed to be.
They do not care about their neurodivergent viewers and visual learning viewers and it SHOWS.
I’m fairly sure they do care about neurodivergent people in the community, but I agree.
For me it is very hard to follow tutorials, for example, where and how to knot some types of bracelets, and I’m practically sweating by the time I finish any bracelet (it’s awarding when I’m done)
The clear string could be the only thing they have, and who said it had to be professional? Clear string is actually the most common string to use from my perspective in the community, and spending more money on some more visual string for something as small as a tutorial couldn’t have crossed their mind at once ^^
I understand that it is rushed, because this person has made a ton of these bases already. For people doing it for the first time (me) I’d recommend setting down the project when you get irritated, and, even if it takes a month or year, work on it only when clear minded.
I do agree with your complaints, though, just know that the person maybe didn’t mean anything irritating towards you. They made a tutorial with only helping people in mind.
I know you might disagree with me or not like to read this all, but patience and possibly using a longer tutorial could help. This is just my opinion on this video, lol ^^ not that your thinking is wrong.
