  • In this video I show and discuss how to build and set a figure four deadfall trap. I then successfully trap and cook a 100 percent wild meal from scratch.

Excellent job Rhys. You did not mention how tasty fresh mice are. Although, when your hungry, all mice are tasty!

Thanks! There not the best but not to bad either. If you trap it you gotta eat it

So, I'm out in the woods starving. I catch some mice, take my chances on the plants I'm about to eat. Then suddenly down the stream floats a treasure of beer. What a way to finish off my survival meal.
Now that I've joked around, it goes to show if you know your plants and can catch a protein source a person can do well.

Is that that show where people can choose one item to bring with them and have to survive in pairs?

badass! I'd love to have the knowledge to identify edible mushrooms and wild plants. The only one I can identify is wood leek and it's available only for... 3 weeks a year. Nice skills!!

Those mice looked pretty flat. Did you cook them with the guts?

I wouldn't put much faith in such a rig for food sustenance. I can spend the same amount of time and effort catching deer for large amounts of meat.
