- Welcome to my "Fallout 4" Settlement Tour of Outpost Zimonja! This is actually my second build at Zimonja. My first was done before I started doing videos but you can check out my blog on it here: www.wonkosgeekery.com/blog/fa...
This build was done on Playstation 5 using the "Game of the Year" edition. No building mods were used. The only mods I have are Creation Club skins which you will see on armor, clothing and Power Armor. If you have any questions about something you see (especially how to do something without mods) please feel free to ask in the comments below.

The settlement system is what makes 4 feel like the most hopeful fallout to me. With enough investment into the minutemen, the region can regain some level of stability.
One of my favorite things to do is build some 30 security bots and set them to caravan routes linking my settlements. You end up running into them across the commonwealth, annihilating raiders in their wake.
That's genius lol. I always worry for my caravanners. I hadn't thought of using robits instead. Thanks for the idea!
Yep, all my Caravaners are robots (based out of Croup Manor). I love seeing them running around the Commonwealth! :)
Congratulations, you’ve made a masterpiece out of a settlement I’ve visited the 3 times I’ve sided with the railroad.
I totally concur fellow monkeh 👍
This is inspiring, ive always kind of spaced buildings out to make it seem less cramped, but giving it a closed-in feel makes it feel like an actual settlement thats worked in and occupied
I enjoy watching your settlement tours in a relaxed manner. You've really built and decorated settlements that can be comfortable lived in. I have learned a few things for sure.
Your attention to design and detail is mind boggling. How you got so much in such a small settlement is amazing.
Thank you for watching and commenting! I appreciate it!
I don't actually play FO4 anymore, but seeing your vids makes me ponder wandering back in. I wish after my four years of playing I had half the talent you do! Excellent work, as usual.
A lot of folks are jumping back in now because of the TV show so if you did you'd be in good company! I'm happy you watched and enjoyed the video. :) Thank you!
Beautiful ! keep up the great content
Thank you so much!
Simply the best Zimonja build I've seen so far! Thanks!
Amazing job. Just coming back after not playing for years. You have inspired me to try building my own custom settlement for the first time.
Thank you for watching and commenting! Much appreciated!
I so love this. Anyone would want to live there, its awesome. I love the ambience. Beautifully done. Thank you. ❤
Thank you so much for watching and the kind comments. I really seek to create an engaging but relaxing experience with these tours so I'm always happy to hear people experience it that way. :)
Bro! Thank you for this! I’ve always had trouble imagining a decent zimonja build. You have given me some great inspiration
Thank you for watching! Glad to hear you got some ideas form the video. :)
Loved this build! Very lived in and secure. I especially loved how many kitties you had there! ❤
Thank you so much for the kind comments. I thought I may have gone a bit overboard with the cats. :D
@@BWTF_Ben More cats is always a better decision! Most of my larger settlements have at least 10 felines roaming around. 😅 🐈🐈⬛🐈🐈⬛🐈
Always happy to see your builds ❤ would love to watch more building/decorating tips/videos 🎉
Working on it. :) I have another video hopefully coming before the end of the month. At some point I need to start a new playthrough so I can start all over.
We need to get this man a pc. A vault 88 build would be epic
I appreciate that! I do marvel at what PC users can do. It appears memory allocation is very different on PC so they can go beyond the build limit many more than the average of 3x that I do.
Dang this settlement is AMAZING!!
Another great settlement build, I really enjoy these!
Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
Gooday to you Mr Yee...glad to see you back sir...another exceptional build my man !!!
Thank you for watching and the kind words! :)
Incredible well done
Thank you so much! :)
Started replaying FO4 recently cause of the show, of course, and wanted to come here to find some inspiration for settlements. Found a few videos that were pretty dull. Not saying they were bad, but just kinda bland. But then I found this and I'm like "Yep, that's exactly it." Dude, you get it. So many people build settlements and have individual buildings scattered around like a modern town, but in a post-apocalyptic world people would want to live in close proximity cause of danger. Layered buildings, protected resources and shops, etc. Your build is perfectly done. Great job! This is the kind of stuff I love seeing
EDIT: btw, you earned a new subscriber 👍 I'd love to see what you can do with Hangman's Alley. Personally that's my favorite location due to it being enclosed. Currently I'm working on turning it into a cyberpunkish back alley for the less-than-savory individuals of the commonwealth
I really appreciate you writing and checking out my builds! I do have some builds that have the "scattered building" thing going like on Spectacle Island. It all depends on the geography and size of the build area for me. :) My Hangman's is totally glitched so I could never finish my current build there. I'm thinking of starting a new run soon so I can start over with the various settlements.
@@BWTF_Ben Oh definitely, yeah, some places make sense for that. Like Spectacle Island has its' natural defenses, etc. If you do decide to start a new run, I'm looking forward to seeing what you create!
Really fantastic!!!!
Thank you so much! :)
Nice small settlement. Good attention to detail, makes me think to go back to my Favela Zimonja to finish it:) Looking foward to what you are coming up next with. Keep it up
Thanks for watching and commenting! Are you still posting on the FB group? I haven't seen your images in a bit. You do great stuff!
Thanks and you're right. I haven't posted in a while but currently working on a new Unreal Engine map. Can't post it in the group, because it's not Fallout related
Benson, this looks so good. Sar Deliac would be pleased to know that you used his lighting on the overhead tarps or umbrellas.
I owe Sar a lot for my style and knowledge so I love tipping my hat to him when I can. :)
@@BWTF_Ben same
I could use that "mattress on the haystack" idea of yours.
I did the same but using sofa instead of haystack. Settlers can both sit can sleep on it.
we love fallout 4 brahmin and how they glitch everywhere
Hey man, I've been loving your videos recently, wish I had your levels of creativity! Any way the viewers could copy your settlements with the Transfer Settlements mod? Would love to have something like this in my game.
Cool out post Love it
Thank you very much! :)
You've been busy. I wasn't expecting another build this quickly after Spectacle.
2:09 The brahmin not knocking all the junk off that shelf can only be attributed to Atom's holy blessing.
3:55 Nice use of the galactron. I had an old save with a vertibird perma-glitched at Red Rocket. I always wanted to do some sort of build with it but I never got around to it and eventually lost the save.
5:50 Nice name. Have you seen Fallout Gaming Shelter's video where he discovered a movable microphone near Custom House Tower? It would be a ton of work to carry all the way to Zimonja but it would be a perfect decoration for a comedy club.
6:37 Are the turrets connected to separate generators too, or just not chained directly to each other?
16:34 👍
18:37 Ouch!
20:58 It sucks when that spark glitch happens unintentionally. Sometimes you can turn it into a happy accident but other times it's just in a terrible place.
23:53 I'm guessing that restaurant looks really good at night.
24:06 I think a tutorial of that container was Sar's first ever vid. Pretty sure he's since deleted or set it to private. A simple idea but it's timeless and still looks good to this day.
25:25 Love how you took such an ominous object and made it appear so colorful and inviting.
28:38 I could see myself hanging here.
33:19 Sar did this at Starlight. It might have even been the episode where I first told him of the campfire. If not it was very close to that episode. Skooled likely did it as well but I can't recall.
I probably sound like a broken record but this is once again an outstanding build and tour. I guess I should learn by now to expect that from you.
Hi Sheck! Thanks so much for commenting. Spectacle was fun but honestly exhausting mentally. I think I prefer small to medium builds so this acted as a palette cleanser. :)
To your points:
A Vertibird glitched? Wow! That sounds awesome.
Thx for letting me know about Fallout Gaming Shelter's videos! I just subscribed and I'm very eager to see the microphone one.
The turrets are both connected to the same power conduit. :)
The Spark thing happened when I was really sleepy and honestly I think what happened is I nodded off, then just autosaved and went to sleep. Whoops.
I think I need to start doing quickie night tours again. They work better for some settlements than others.
Not sure if I saw Sar's tutorial or another but it was one of the first times I saw objects could be used in ways other than the obvious (ex: fence piece becoming sides of a box etc.).
I'm thinking it was Sar's build where I got the Scavenger station trick from. It's wonderfully simple but effective!
@@BWTF_Ben Have you downloaded the update? You know how I sometimes give you a hard time about the desktop picture frames? Well not any longer. The update appears to have nuked nearly all the picture frames in the game. Every one I checked is now blank (the exceptions I've seen are the static ones at Warwick and the Nakano boathouse.
Good ol' Bugthesda at it again.
This is great
Thank you! :D
@@BWTF_Ben you should do a vault 88 build if you haven’t already I appreciate your attention to detail
@@jay4L1 I did one years ago before I did videos. You can check out my blog with gallery on it here: www.wonkosgeekery.com/blog/fallout4/fallout-4-vault-88-build
i would love to see what this guy could achieve using mods
I feel like mods are a whole new skill set. I've seen amazing stuff with mods like turning pieces at angles, shrinking them etc. I suspect when I start using them it will be like learning building all over again!
Hey man, question, when you said the console is only available to build when youre building the device for the institute, after that it just takes away the console or the fusion generator too? Im new bro lol
This is such a cool build! Where is the outhouse building from? Ive seen a few people use is but cant work out how to get it?
The Outhouses are part of the Barn build menu from the Far Harbor DLC. The list of build objects is here (I find it very useful!) fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Fallout_4_settlement_objects
@@BWTF_Ben oh thank you!
Hey Ben, I've had this question for a REALLY long time and I was seriously hoping you could answer it. I saw your Vault 88 build on Wonko's Geekery and I really wanted to know how you got those Blue and Yellow lights in your vault. You said you didnt use mods or creation club for anything but for the life of me, I can't find them. It doesn't appear to be the cycling light either. Please let me know!
Hello! Those are indeed Cycling lights. I built the ceiling pieces, then I built up platforms (from the Wood menu) to get me up there. I then pillar glitched cycling lights into the tube-shaped sections of the ceiling pieces. So the lights are "stuffed" in there and give off a beautiful color!
@@BWTF_Ben Thank you so much! So if I'm understanding correctly, you glitched the cycling lights into the regular lights? I could've never imagined just how much patience and building experience you have! Your awesome builds don't even scratch the surface. Keep doing what you love, you just earned a subscriber
@@Caboose_Sim No no...I just glitched the cycling lights in there. I DO have additional "regular" lights embedded here and there for additional illumination, but the blue and yellow are created purely from cycling lights.
@@BWTF_Ben Okay thank you. I understand now after looking back at the image. Thank you again, so very much! I've been struggling with this for the longest time.
can you please show us your
Sanctuary?
I would love to see what you have done to it❤
Sadly my Sanctuary is totally broken in my current playthrough. I can't even go there without crashing. I recently started a new playthrough so I hope to build again in that one.
I thought i was subscribed and i missed out on your last builds. 🤔
how do you get that red cloth tent thing in the very beginning of the video where the brahmin is under?
That is the Trade Caravan Post you unlock helping out Kessler. You can read about it here: fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Trade_caravan_post
It's unlocked after doing a quest from Kessler in Bunker Hill. I'm sure the link Benson provided gives all the details.
Making this comment before I forget,
For that galactron, you wouldn’t happen to have robotics expert level 3? If so what’s happening is that you’ve hacked the robot and it now follows you everywhere, if you don’t want it to follow you try hacking another robot
Thanks for watching! It's possible I hacked it when I played Nuka World. The weird part is - it doesn't consistently follow me. I can go days without seeing it then it will suddenly appear!
1:40 how did you get the red tarp frame?
The Trade Caravan Post is obtained after you complete the mission "Prep School" for Kessler. :) fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Trade_caravan_post
