Just finished doing this with my line .... 1 never ever again buy a new line. 2 I drilled the holes to 4mm to get line in and out . 3 vice grips to hold spool .
Hi Pablo, good on you for having a go. So “1 never buy a new line again”??? Did you mean you will now just replace the wire or not do this again? I hope you were successful. Cheers
@RpasaustraliaAu I mean I'll buy a whole new clothes line and not replace the line again. After I reinstalled my unit on the wall, I pulled it out and cut another 600mm off each line from the bar end . 👌👌👌
Thanks for your video. Been looking for this for some time. The only thing I would say is I don’t know whether I’d use the Daytek line as the original on the one I bought barely lasted two years.
Yes, it’s probably the 1st problem, which brand to use. But unless it’s wire core, there is a good chance they all come out of the same factory…same formula. Now I did have some (not enough for 5lines) of the wire cored line. Its such an easy job I might even swap one line out for it and see how it weathers. Good luck give it a go.
Hi, I have tried to replace my line however due to it being so badly damaged I had to cut the line. I am wondering if you found you get only a certain amount of tension then it becomes loose. I am thinking of cutting my replacement line shorter. We have approx 20m of line then add on slackness. I'm using a 30m line. I have spent 5 hours already, please help.
I’m out n about so I’ll do my best. When you cut it did you let it spring back in ? That is, let go of tension? Its like a clock spring. In My video I maintained the spools original tension. You will need to reapply it BEFORE connecting the new line. I got a 30m and cut it into 5 even lengths…7m. Basically the longer the line the more tension/rotations you will need otherwise it will struggle to reel on the last few meters. I think in the vid I really briefly showed adding a bit of extra tension…sounds like you need to add heaps if let go. Hope it helps. Troy
Yep thats it! Easy really. I dont think spools are available. Just measure and cut x number of lines to same length, remember to keep tension on as you go. Good luck
Thankyou
Thanks for posting this video. I feel confident to attempt now 👍🏼
You can do it!
Thanks, will try...Loving the dji mic ...What did you film with..? Thanks

THAT'S all it is??? Do you think its worth fixing or replacing the spools if they've lost tension?
