One I heard ages ago is that in 2001 Seth McFarland forgot to set his alarm and slept in missing his flight to NY, which turned out to be the plane that flew into the World Trade Centre on 9/11. So if he had done something as simple as setting an alarm that night, we’d be living in a world where Family Guy was just this very short lived random cartoon which ended because it’s lead voice actor and writer was one of the victims of the 9/11 attack.
He was actually drunk the night before and missed his flight by a few minutes because of the hangover
They do have one skit in Family Guy where an employee oversleeps and misses his shift on 9/11 - kinda similar to Seth’s experience
best butterfly effect i can think of if it even counts is i was researching my grandmothers origins cus she came from a certain country and id found her mothers name so i asked on a Reddit for that country if her name meant anything. someone commented on the post saying that their grandmothers story sounded extremely similar to mine so i DM'd them and turns out they were a 2nd cousin of mine who happened to be searching the same information lmao. We haven't met irl yet but maybe one day

I once woke up to go to work but I felt little dizzy and unwell so I decided to take a personal day and went back to sleep. I woke up again on a call by one of my colleagues saying that the office had burned and everyone being hospitalized and wanted to make sure that I was ok. The fire started in the warehouse and two employees unfortunately had died. Those two were my officemates. God bless their souls.
Ironically, the police were putting me under suspicion cause I was off on that day unusually. Later they discovered that it was improper electrical wiring by technicians.

Another is John Hinckley Jr and his assignation attempt on Ronald Reagan; all stemming from him going to see the film Taxi Driver. If he’d of never seen that film, he wouldn’t of had an infatuation with Jodie Foster, would never of tried to kill Reagan, which ultimately led to Reagan gaining more popularity and winning his second term as president. We could be living in a very different world where potentially people like George Bush Sn and Jr were never president after Reagan if John Hinckley had never seen that movie.

Here's one: A little boy got polio, so my children exist.
My great grandparents had a little boy who contracted polio at 7 years old and died within a couple days. Several years later, they decided to adopt a 7 year old boy from an orphanage. That little boy was my grandpa. If their son hadn't contracted polio, most of my family, including myself and my children, likely wouldn't exist.

Similar to Henry VIII being the spare that became king, history repeated itself around 100 years later when James I’s first-born Henry died. This meant the second-born son, Charles, became King Charles I, responsible for falling out with Parliament and leading to the English Revolution and Civil Wars. If Henry had been a better king than Charles, perhaps the monarchy today would still be autocratic and Tudor-style, or perhaps there would have been a more permanent revolution against the monarchy later on.
