PC cabinet looks like a night club
watched 4 other videos and i needed to know what that second slot was used for. thank you for going over it
Man I can't believe the prices of these have dropped so much in the 2 years they've been out. Just recently got a 1tb ssd for $100...
& i just got mines 2
Just got mines today!
are you sure? 870 evo 1 tb is 140$
@@sashkoification prices fluctuate. When I got mine it was $100
Just ordered mines, I’m scared about installing
Dope video! Keep up the good work!
I want to buy one of these, I’m looking inside my computer to see if I have the mounting space and power cable for it 👀
Finally found a vid on this that didn't waste my time. useful
Love the vid - clear explanation and fun. Thx for sharing
How did you format it within the Disk Management? I'm not trying to create a new boot drive. Just adding another SSD for storage of pictures/etc.
This was the most helpful informative tutorial I’ve ever see. Especially explaining where the cables go to
Isn't it obvious?
@@colinjava8447 no it isn’t, especially for newer pc builders such as me.
@@seangoz I agree the initialising and partitioning of an SSD needs to be learned, but thought the cables needed was obvious, unless you've never looked inside a pc case before.
Need help with setting it up. How can you not figure out where the fuckin cables go? Everything is labeled and you can look at a diagram of your motherboard. This videos sucks huge.
@@mikhailmagdalena1845 But you are still here
I’m installing one of these in my lian li atx mid today. Where should i find a power cable for this?
Thank you, you helped me set up mine
Where do you get the connections are they already in the computer?
hi! can i just ask the model of your motherboard? i have the gigabyte z390 pro wifi, is this compatible to the ssd, and is the wire included as well? thank you
Thanks so much, Windows didn't recognize my new drive until I initialed it and created a new volume in Disk Management. Nice tip
finally a video that's not over 10 minutes!
i have no idea how the disk manager thing works and how to tell which one is which from hhd or whatever to ssd
Thanks so much!!! Great video showing all the pieces up close 😊
What tower is that? It looks awesome
I just finished building my PC and am in the BIOS initial set up.
I have the samsung SSD870 EVO: Should it be under RAID or AHCI? It is the only ssd I will have for quite a long time.
Also, when trying to install windows, it says "no device drivers found." In BIOS, i can see that the USB ports are being registered but not reading any of the programs. How do I navigate this?
thank you for the video. Very usefull for me on installing this things :-D
Great review Naysy
PapadumGeek Thanks! Still have lots to learn. Like how the hell do I get smooth panning shots?! Haha
What are the name of the screws??
H'alright! Thanks for showing me ze' cables. Wish they came with the SSD, though.
what is the card under the gpu?
This was a very helpful guide, ver easy to understand
So at 3:25 is that cable required?
Great review Naysy. Keep up the great work☺

Hi can i install this ssd on motherboard msi b450 gaming plus?
All steps covered, great work!
Thank you so much this helped me a lot.
will this work on dell inspiron 3671 (replacing the 3.5 hard drive)
Got me a 500GB one and was super stoked to install it but the PC I'm putting it in doesn't have the right tray for it to rest in. Gonna have to order that too it seems
Does it come with the cord to hookup?
No, the SSD won't. But it is propably included to your MB. The only things I needed to buy were the 4 little screws.
Do i have to install Windows 10 before i install the ssd? i need help
I've just done two of these myself on my work & home pc's - if you have a samsung ssd evo or qvo you can go to samsung and download the "data migration app" which then lets you copy everything and make it a bootable disk as well. There is other software from Macrium and others that will let you clone but if you want to make it bootable you have to buy the software. I actually used a sata to usb cable to plug in the ssd and clone it. However it would not boot and it turns out that it is intentional from Microsoft - it is not possible to boot from USB (this is listed on Macrium site). After I cloned it, I installed the ssd inside (I actually used the same power and data ssd cables from my dvd drive which was not working anyway) It boots very fast compared to the old hard disk (like only 3-4 seconds). The only thing is the Samsung data migration software only works with samsung ssds. Apparently if you use a different brand it will just ask for samsung.
I dont have that mounting bracket anyone know where j can get it
How do i get the psu cord?
This vid helped me in 2022. Gracias!!
But do absolutely need the screws or not?
Double faced tape will work in desperation.
Are you from Adelaide? I thought you might be because you said “saa-tah”. In Melbourne we say “say-tah” 😂

Love the way you pronounce SATA 😊
Thank you for showing the part where you actually screw the SSD in place. Even the most detailed tutorials seem to skip that part.
good concise instructional. thanks.
Cheers mate your a legend 🤟
Where’d would I find the wire to connect the SSD??
In the powe supply. And a sata cable that comes with your motherboard
Great, i just realized, that i bought the SSD but don't have the motherboard cable for it, i have the power but no information..
Lol, same. Trying to check what the cable is called
@@JoTlz it called sata cable
Im missing the big cable
I just got a 2tb one, I think it’s really dumb they don’t come with screws lol, I just zip tied mine cuz cba

Nice, thanks. next time a flashlight into the case please!
Nice unbox
Finder, lol :P
Is there any minimum requirement for the SSD?
A sata cable
A flat table
You must have a pc
Dan Magahy you must be alive
FOR ANYBODY THAT INSTALLED THE 860 EVO SSD WHERE DID YOU FIND THE TRAY FOR IT
hey, it depends on your case, if you have a hdd rack there should also be 4 places for screws to screw the ssd in, if not there can be on the psu basement or on the back of your case, if you dont have any of these you can buy a ssd mount kit, they are pretty cheap, cheers!
@@boyann9994 thanks
Btw make sure your motherboard has the SATA Port for the SSD I got a 1TB and found out my Motherboard only had two SATA Ports which were already taken by a 256gb SSD and a 2TB HDD and I didn’t have a extra SATA cable with the board. FML
Is this the video that accelerated your channel the most?
Probably this one czcams.com/video/cZoPw0SRAJE/video.html
thanks baby
Couldve shown how to format it
Hot stuff. Thanks by the way.
Is buying a 1tb ssd ok. Im going to install os win10 and pc games on it. This my first pc build. I do have a hdd 1tb. Friends tell me to make it into storage drive.
SSD's are good for your operating system and HDD for extra storage. 1tb sad are more expensive though
@@Naysy yeah its installed in my system now. Desktop opens so fast.
@@Maxfoshow lol already currently using a nvme m.2 as my primary for os and ssd as secondary harddrive.
Fucking first video on Google search and it nailed my concerns. BRILLIANT!! THANK YOU FROM FLORIDA!
Now is there a chance I can destroy my SSD if I put it into like a wrong SATA port that gives it too much power and ends up with a Fried SSD? because i am thinking of doing it myself but i am a little worried I will destroy my 1TB SSD
As long as you use the proper SATA cables you'll be fine
@@SkyTakesLs Thanks mate
The only time you'll have a problem is when you use another psu cable with another psu so make sure you have your cables for that psu
@@SkyTakesLs The PLAN was to get into my build And see my PSU and find another SATA cable I don't know if I have an extra SATA cable lying around for my SSD or should I go out and buy one for the Motherboard? But I just want a simple installation plug my SSD and maybe leave lying in the case while I try and see if my PC will scan for it in BIOS or wherever you go after installing an SSD. I've Installed RAM before but that's about it. I want to do it myself because I am looking to build a PC in the future.
@@theboygonegamer well the motherboard to hdd or ssd doesnt matter which cable you use what I'm trying to say is the cable that matters is the one that is connected from ur psu to ssd or hdd bc of the power
great!
I’m not sure how to even format it 😭
Bro I’m too stupid to install it I have mine but don’t know how to install

Got mine all plugged in and still not showing in disk management or anything :'(
Chris Hewson Hey! Have you gotten this solved yet? If not I could be able to help you out.
@@cermahoil3273 Hi, I did in the end. Had to change some settings in bios. I know that seems obvious now but at the time all the fixes I found for this were not what I needed. A 5 min job took me an hour or two to workout tryimg multiple fixes Haha. Thanks for the offer to help me. But anyone reading this with the same issue as I had, try unlocking it in your system bios.
Hi Chris. I'm planning to install an 860 EVO tomorrow as an additional storage device; I currently have an NVMe M.2 SSD installed on my Motherboard (OS) and a HDD. Once installed, should I just be able to set the device up in Disk Manager? What do you mean when you say you had to unlock it in BIOS? I'm new to this and I'm not quite sure what to do once it's physically installed. Thank you in advance for your help.
@@keironkimbley-brown494 you should be able to do it through disk manger, but if you can't, start your PC up and press F2 as its booting (spamming it might stop you from missing the opportunity to do it before it fully starts). The button to press may differ for different motherboards so if F2 does not work maybe google which key you should press.
Once in Bios (normally a blue screen), I think you need to go to boot device. Should be there somewhere might need to hunt around for it as different setups will have a different BIOS setup. There should be a list of SATA in use, this is where you have your SSD plugged in. Here there should be an option to enable the SSD. Basically telling the motherboard I want this in use.
I hope that makes sense and I also hope that it is all correct as I'm doing this off memory. If anyone reading can explain better or notices steps/errors I have miss/made, please comment. I think its helpful to know as I tried about 4 or 5 different fixes before this one.
Just realized I installed it and it has no power cable plugged in, I don't know if there's a spare. RIP.
Check PSU box (if modular) should be several sata power connectors on one cable.
@@colinjava8447 thx, i got it figured out. I had to buy a splitter because i didn't have a spare cable. It works fine now.
As i start to listen to your guide im finding that your background music is too loud and is off putting.
I love it, makes it a lot more engaging
only 250 gig !?!!!
damn the only reason i came here was the part you skipped, not sure how to format it so it shows up lol

Cool pc
2:10 That's a 2.5" drive tray.
Where do you get it from
@@nakiajackson2390 Online. I haven't bought one before.
@@killertruth186 which website to get It from , and I have a question about do the cords that you use for it come with the motherboard or do you buy it separately
@@nakiajackson2390 For the drive tray? There's no need for wires. All it is to make it easier to install SSD even small HDDs into the PC, also makes it easier to not worry about it being loose in the case.
www.newegg.com/p/pl?d=ssd+tray
These are quite cheap and you don't need to spend a lot on them to not worry about the drive to be flopping around in the case when you carry your PC around.
you have 960 Nvme, yet you are installing 860 EVO SATA. that combo is like using 1600 Mhz RAM with 1333 Mhz

No way 500 turned out to be 248 or something
it’s probably 256
bruh you’re dumb the ssd said 250gb on it
What a cutie
2 years later you can get 1tb for same price
I paid 80€ gor the 500gb one
I paid 95€
how does a video receive dislikes ?!?!?!?!
I don't consider you a child, but as they say, even a child could do it. Sorry, but I couldn't find a child in my house. Would a wife do? You need more light when working on your case. I use an LED light bar that attaches to my forehead and frees my hands simultaneously. These SSDs do get hot. I make sure to mount it so it can receive good fan cooling.
1:29 It's average! 🥺
