I remember a decorator on a local TV show here once said when asked about matching woods, “Do the the trees in the forest match?”. It’s all wood, it’s good! I’ll never forget that!

Yes that's me helping George pack up his booth. He didnt have any help and he had a double size booth. I thought he would have an Entourage, but I guess he was a little too far from home. You guys are so good at setting your booths up.

No don't paint your wood walls. They a part of make your MCM home original. I am on Old House Dreams & that is one thing that is always mentioned is how to remove the paint from all the wood. Laura if you look at some of the MCM homes that Kelly posts, you'd be surprised at how many look like they walked out of a 1950s magazine.

Re: your new shelves in the basement. One of the pics you inserted actually shows similar units against a panelled wall, so if you like the room in that pic, you'll like them there in your house!

Seeing all of the mid century items is so nostalgic ❤️❤️ We are in Palm Springs for the entire month of February and attending as many of the Mid Century Modern Week events as possible.👏👏👏👏
We had that same bird sculpture for about 10 years. Our decor was more modern, but husband saw it at a yard sale and thought it would look good in our home. He paid $15 for it. We hung it over a side table in our dining room and friends loved it. When we sold our home last year to downsize our son bought a new home around the same time. We wanted it for his new home and has it hanging in his living room. Can’t wait to tell him that I saw it on your channel! 😁

I also wanted to add...It is totally up to you whether or not to paint the paneling as both ways will look fabulous with all your creativity and taste. I have seen paneling painted and it looked great. If it were very dark in color, I would say paint to brighten up the place, but I understand why you are on the fence since it is a lovely lighter color of paneling. Live with it for a bit for sure.

I have started sharing some stuff and having a blast. I went to thrift store and found incredible stuff and I have over 35+ years of inventory. I can’t wait to share when I do an unpacking when we move. But I do have some things that I can show that are not packed yet. Laura, i am still mourning the fact that i missed seeing you in Springfield, Oh. I live in Urbana, just 13 miles away. Your smile and style always brighten my day. At a garage sale a few days ago, i bought a pair of myrtle wood candle sticks and a matching pedestal bowl from Coos Bay. They make me think of you. Please keep on doing what you do😊
I'm so glad you didn't paint the paneling! You already have several woods in the basement that don't match, but that is the beauty of it! When you combine different woods, it gives a room character and none of the wood tones you have would contrast. They would all "read" the same as they are various depths of the same coloration. Some nice finds at the estate sale!

Put the wall units on the non paneled wall. Put the wall hanging on the paneling. You are right about the cabinets will disappear against the paneling. Love the haul. You scored.
When your husband showed the four legs on the Japanese vase my first thought was a grasshopper, then you said bug, so I’m totally with you! Love the flea booth & can’t wait for the home tour! Since finding your channel a year ago I’ve found both a Bitossi ash tray & Lisa Larson lion at thrift stores!! $3 & $5🤩 Had Never heard of either before you so thank you, learn so much from you! 🥰

Laura I have really been enjoying all of your Travels/Thrifting Videos. Your Very fortunate that your Husband Jessy Supports & Enjoys Thrifting with You. My Husband Hates Thrifting. When we Travel I always make a list of all the Thrifting, Antiques, Estate Sales, etc….. Our last trip we were In Idaho & Montana. I had a list of 18 Antique & Thrift Stores I wanted to check out “I was so excited”. But we stopped at 1 Thrift Store it was a Saint Vincent & Dupaul. The store was HUGE everything was clean organized and after 20 minutes . He said “ok, let’s go”. I had only looked at two isles. I always envy Couples who love Thrifting Together ❤. Or at least be willing to compromise & do things together even if it’s not something enjoyable for them. 🍀 GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR BOOTH SALE!!

The new bookshelves are amazing! It would help if you could paint white the wood paneling only on the ceiling. It would open up the space and the new bookshelves wouldn't clash with the walls as much.

One of the brass candlesticks you had sitting on the floor of your booth looks exactly like one that I used to sell when I sold Home Interiors (Homeco) as a young mom around 1981. It would unscrew in the middle, making two candlesticks that you could style with a votive cup or regular taper. Home Interiors products were sold using the home party scheme (like Tupperware). I confess I was NOT a good salesperson but it was fun and brought in a little extra cash for a stay at home mom. Not definite it’s the same one but Loved seeing that and Love your channel!
