Empowering Change: Believing in a Young Man's Potential - Sandeep's Story

All it took was for one person to believe in him to help Sandeep break the bonds of poverty. Sandeep grew up in a shanty in a slum in Kolkata, India. People would put him down every day and told him he would never amount to anything because he and his family were poor. He would fight other kids for food scraps in the city dump. He could only dream of going to school but never thought he would. One day, when a social worker found him in the streets, he was brought to a Hope Center and connected with a sponsor who encouraged him over the years and saw something special in him. With that positivity, Sandeep made it through university, earned a degree, and now lives with his wife and children in the United States, where he works to help kids around the world rise from poverty.
