in the old days i would probably have agreed but the new airfix kits are very good the only downside is they are made in india and the qc there is hit and miss at times then again airfix are fast at getting any spares out so its not the end of the world as they say

havent seen one in 1/48 and yea my eyes are getting like that now as well
