- Wow! What a box! Take that anyway you want. Here are some important time codes for you all:
2:15 - A true gem of a crap knife
13:37 - An actual camp shower - not a black drinking water bag
14:30 - possibly the worst knife I've ever unboxed - unedited and
in all its glory
23:56 - My rant about over-priced, crap quality knives...again - Jak na to + styl
I love when you get something terrible and get pissed. It’s mainly the reason why I watch your unboxings
Not too many of those videos.
What's up with the all the hate comments? At least he's being honest and straight up with us. Unlike some of the other reviewers on CZcams.
I can't help but notice this guy's fingers.
Doc, as great as your comebacks are, don't let the hate get to you, your channel is awesome and you should know that, I'm not trying to force you to stop, but most of these people are trolls and or dumb asses, don't waste your time M8, thx for hilarious content as usual man.
P.S. I love your off the cuff comebacks so half of me wants you to keep going lol
*opens a box supposed to be filled with tactical shit and immediately sees the words "creamy vegetable pasta"*
When I first saw the box I thought it said mystery shit gear
Sometimes it really should.
Guys stop hating on him and calling ungrateful because he takes the time to make these videos for us to watch and enjoy and if you think he’s ungrateful then don’t watch his videos I love his videos and if you don’t then leave
Like if you agree
The only reason I clicked on this video was because the thumbnail showed the exact knife (I confirmed the model number when you read it off) I gave my wife because it looked pretty cool. It's just a knife she carries with her (as you said everyone should) and she loves it because it fits her hand well and does what she needs it to do. She mainly does light cutting work like opening packaging.
I paid maybe $12 for it from ebay. I never expected quality and neither should you, however it was in a box advertising quality and that is just wrong.
I always say that if you like a knife and it works for you, that's money well spent. But it's BS when people are scammed into it. Some are educated or experienced enough to know but most have to take to the advertising or the product info at face value.
Didn't sugar coat anything and gave it an honest review, I appreciate that. A good way you can look at the poor quality knives is that they would be decent for some of the dirtier jobs, such as using to strike a fire starter. A throw away that you wouldn't be upset with damaging, but overall, good review.
I honestly love how straight to the point you are when rating something, you don’t sugarcoat any shit quality items, and you tell us damn straight when something is good
Thanks for getting it!
Also that orange knife at the end was cut out of a piece of steel with a plasma cutter. (One with the incorrect tip by how shotty the "top cuts" were) and it appears to have not been hardened either.
i dont usually like a rainbow knife especially a smith and wesson one but not gonna lie i really like the one you showcased off in this vid, i love how quiet it is, how sleek it is, and they used the rainbow texture as a secondary colour, i actually really like this knife
I expected a giant “What.....the......fuck is this shit” when you got to the orange knife lol was almost in tears.
For 10$ you have a dollar store sheath you can use as a fanny pack for skittles and a wistle you can give your kid that won't make a bunch of noise but will keep him entertained for hours trying to figure out if he is doing something wrong. Still can't think of a use for the chunk of casted stainless which more resembles a piece of roadside debris than a knife, I guess you can drill holes in anything for a pencil holder but that's been done already.
Numberless Oats lol
Thanks for making these videos and not taking shit from dickheads in the comments. I know it’s dumb but my life is pretty low right now and watching these videos is a really nice break. Thanks man.
i dunno whats more entertaining , him shitting on knives or his replies to people in the comments hahah
You let me know, and that's what I'll do.
DocP91B do some special vids on it that will actually be super fun love your channel
You should take all the crappiest knifes you’ve ever gotten and use them to there breaking point and post a video on that
Why are people just now watching this
Trent Brickhouse why are you
I just found your channel like a day ago and I’ve been binge watching your vids, keep up the great work man.

besides being in the uk where even having a butter knife is illegal, I like these videos
I'm so sorry you have to deal with all those ridiculous laws.
@@DocP91B wow, considering its a 2 year old video that is a really fast reply
Creators get notifications when people leave comments. Sometimes I jsut happen to be right there when the little thing goes ding.
@@DocP91B haha you are kind, keep it up man
@@DocP91B you can understand the laws when knife crime and stabbing rates are so high also I don't think carrying a knife into town is necessary so where I live in the countryside the knife laws are fine by me
Finally an honest goddamn review of a subscription box without pulling any punches. Subscribe
Thats weird. Ive got an old Smith and Wesson pocket knife ive used as a work blade and its never let me down and still in amazing condition. I'm guessing their quality went way down lately
I think that might be the big factor.
Bought my kid a s&w knife for 60$ a few years ago ...... lasted about a year and was pretty much junk !
DAMN THAT BOX HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF!
I know that rainbow knife is crap but I still kinda like it
My daughter has been carrying around that exact same colorful S&W pocket knife for the past 4+ years for use as a pocket knife and it's still holding up. It's not meant to be used as anything other than a pocket knife and definately not for heavy suty use. Also of note is it hasn't needed to be sharpened anymore than any other stainless blade and it was $15.
18:21 Looks like one of those plastic cooking set knives you get for kids. Lol.
That card, the exact one, I bought one here in the Philippines about 4 years ago. I paid 50 Philippine Pesos for it
At the time Php50 was about 0.99 dollars
I personally like the smith amd Wesson Spec Ops, i have had mine for about 9-10 years its pretty solid but smith and wesson for the most part does suck
Haha. That orange knife looks like something I would have made in my second week of high school metal shop and recieved a B- grade only because my instuctor was partial to me.
You know people say Doc sucks but as a new member of the army myself, his suggestions and advice on knives have saved me and my friends from spending 40 dollars on a 5 dollar knife. And given us alot of knowledge going into buying our tools.
Thanks brother! What's your MOS and where did they put you?

@@DocP91B yeah 18 is special forces still, and I cant believe you've served at fort bliss it makes me wonder if you ever might have heard of my grandfather, he was a green beret
the rainbow knife looks pretty cool actually
+DoxTan Nothing wrong with liking it at all, just as long as you know what you're getting for you're money when you buy it.
You should make a vid about all the crap knives and stress test them
Great idea!
I received this box, when I looked at the large knife with paracord wrap I figured out what those large cutouts are in the backside of the knife. It is to me used with the striker, it fits right in there and after a few tries, I had spark! It is going in my fire kit!
It would have never even occurred to me to try that with that thing. Nice work! Thanks for sharing that one with us all!
That knife with the striker, I get that it's not quality but I'm guessing that back end is an impact edge, also since it struggles to cut, the best use for it would be to give it to a kid as a safety training and handling but to use it as a knife or blade was intended is just out of the question.
The rainbow knife is actually pretty cool
It's dodo
It looks cool, but it's shit quality.
It looks cool but that is a really bad knife that actually cuts people
@@LethalL260 NO WAY! A KNIFE WILL CUT PEOPLE?!?!???

Found the serrated version of the s and w knif on Amazon for 14.54. It's 7cr17MoV. Not sure if they use the same steel on the fine edge one, but couldn't find it on Amazon.
That Zippo is the coolest one ive seen so far, i love the combination of black and some brighter color like yellow or green.

FINALLY! Someone who doesn't talk shit and says how it is, good one bud.
I quickly cancelled my SHTF subscription after I received the same box minus the presidential pick.. let me put it to you this way... I have chinese friends that say "don't buy chinese goods" I think your unboxing videos are great. Your reactions are sometimes hilarious and entertaining. I wouldn't watch it if you just came on and listed what was in the box. You're a father, keep your kids involved in the videos, they also have a genuine perspective on everything.. dogs are awesome!! the occasional intrusion of "tater" or "tato" whatever your dogs name is.. is fine. I already have quality american made gear for my bug out bag.. Since there's "shit in this box" if currency runs out.. I could finally use the SHTF box by trading its contents. Keep up the good work!! Thank you for your service ..
Lmao, that knife, with the orange cord... Fuck dude I almost had tears in my eyes when he pulled it out of the sheath. Wtf is that shit on the back of the blade?? Lol...I can't, this is great...
I'm not a knife person and it probably is really bad, but the rainbow one from smith and wesson did look pretty cool
Well I finally found this video, probably my first video of yours i watched cause i saw that "OMG RAINBOW KNIFE ME LIKEY" in the thumbnail and I happened to discover a really useful unboxing & review channel! A person with knife/blade experiences and can tell which one's a really great blade and which one's total garbage. I ended up re-watching it cause I remember you unboxed one reaaaaaaaaally shitty knife, I finally found it, as I mentioned. God does that look ugly. I would buy it for like two dollars, but it's probably the fire striker that makes it $9.99. Thanks for still uploading and being awesome!
I have the exact same knife as the fixed timber wolf except it’s called a timber rattler and came with a sheath. The handle is also “blue wood”
I have that timberwolf fixed blade. I bought it for 15.00 and it came with a leather sheath.
Are you kn a navy or air force. As j heard the jet and it had a howl to it so either an a3 or a b1
When I made this video I was stationed at Tyndall Air Force Base. The Jets you hear are F-22s coming in from the training area over the Gulf of Mexico. That howling sound is a compressor stall in the engine. Happens at low altitude and low speed.
Can I have the rainbow knife please
No
well how does the battery charger work
I couldn’t stop laughing the knife at the end when I first saw it
I think that clingy stuff you mentioned at 11:00 might be some kind of oil.
Aluminum...Chinese for Steel.
You can use the knife too. Just because its fade doesnt mean it doesnt cut. I love fade knives.
The rainbow would be a good knife to show of though it has got a pretty cool design
I want that rainbow smith and Wesson knife
Lonewolf same
I pull out my rainbow iodized knifeandmy attacker is too distracted on gazing apon my bright beautiful rainbow knife before realising i stabbed him in he groin or some other area where it really hurts
Accurate
It really do be like that sometimes
I like the look of the timber wolf knives
Haha I got that S&W knife when I was 10 in a different color. It held up pretty well tbh had to tighten the screws every now and then but it was sharp and stayed sharp
I gotta say, arguing with people on things is a lot of fucking fun. I see why you do it 😂
I don’t know why there is so much hate on his videos, just because he doesn’t like the products (and it’s his opinion) doesn’t me you have to argue with him that the products are good. Like I said earlier, it’s his opinion, and yours might be different.
I know like this *ickhead in the comments of a different video started calling him a negative person but he’s just being honest
Well you can have a different opinion on the product but you can’t say that the company is a terrible company cause you don’t know how much they work on the knives and it’s very hard to get the most perfect knife and you just don’t guess the baddest company sure there is bad company’s but you don’t just say “oh this is terrible” beacause HE GAVE THE COMPANY A BAD REVIEW AND HE CAN SIT BACK AND RELAX WHILE THEY WORK HARDER ON THOSE KNIVES THAN HIS CZcams CARRER. No hate to him but just don’t accuse a company of being bad
funny guy they are not making a close to perfect knife, they aren’t even making sharp knives (it’s not hard to sharpen a knife), the company is bad
4:30, not sure what hasnt been understood but ill break it down.
First is some measurment, and beside it is what i belive to be the listed carbon content of the blade, or something to do with the quality or build.
And last high carbon steel is harder and less flexible than low carbon steel, bassicaly the difference between bending a spoon and trying to bend a knife blade.
You didn't really get what I was saying. Is the blade stainless or carbon? A modern high end steel maybe qualify as both, but a 7Cr chineese steel? Very unlikely.
I'm thinking about buying a knife just so I have an excuse to make a custom sheath for it, but what should I buy?
@@krankey.616 Enough for a nice knife. Something that has a tang all the way through and a wooden handle. I want one for camping trips and so I have an excuse to make a sheath for it.

I love the rainbow knife
Good for you but there are some people who think that that knife is worth $10,000 it's really not but if you like it you like it
i am 11 and that knife is damn cool. but doc can you do a video on your knife collection.mine is BIG.
The rainbow knife?
They sell those at Scouts
I agree with you on these mostly junk boxes. Most of us work too hard for a payday to let any extra go to waste. I understand people buying items like knives and camping gear might buy sub par equipment based on price alone. Thats just not for me. Every time I watch an unboxing video I find myself adding up the actual value of the mostly garbage items. That's when you realize that for what these bargains set you back money wise, you clearly could choose a much higher quality U.S.A. or Japaneese made knife or a good sleeping bag. The only thing I can say positive about these boxes are that they introduce useful items that some people are unaware of so that's kind of cool.
ive got a slitly different version of the rainbow knife but the bolsters in mine are aluminium and i frankly like the knife but its slightly different
Don't let the hater's get to ya, I luv ya videos bro
From what I understand after watching his videos and reading the description in his videos, the only reason he's so negative is because he gives his honest opinions on very cheap, quality made knives that are very over priced just because "they look cool". So he basically is doing those who are generally interested in knives and want to start collecting a favor so they won't waste their money on something that should cost 1/3 of their price that companies sell them at. I would also get irritated at him for being so negative but he has a good reason for it :)
Quick question, for your rainbow bad knives do you like put them somewhere as a show case or something like that? Or just put it away in a drawer
I put actual anodized titanium or aluminum knives on display. but this kind of fake wrapped steel, I usually just give away, or strip and recoat.
How do you sharpen your knives? Could you make a video?
Already done for you. Look it up on my channel. Have a 2 part video on sharpening supplies and whetstone sharpening.
I love your videos, but I just imagine someone walks by and notices a grown man sitting in the grass talking to himself and goes “what the fuck” and it makes me giggle.
If that's all they say I guess I'm doing pretty good. A grown man in the grass talking to himself with a bunch of knives and stuff. That could look pretty sketchy.
DocP91B ha, thanks for the video god bless
review the cardboard box
CAN YOU DO A REVIEW ON THE CUTCO KABAR
hey i was wondering, Im not a big knife guy but i just got a folding knife and it is made with A705 stainless steel and i was just wondering if that was a good steel for the knife.
That's not actually a specific steel type. I think that's maybe a model number on the knife. In a weird coincidence ASTM A 705M is the guideline number that covers the specifications for age-hardening forged stainless steels of various types.
@@DocP91B oh ok thanks for the info

You were calling that pocket knife bad, but you gotta admit. It's pretty cool looking.
No, I really don't I will admit some people may like rainbow knives. I think it's cheesy and terrible. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions though.
Decorative blades have uses, not as many as proper knives, but as presents for the un-initiated or an event knife etc

Timber Wolf should stick to dip and Smith and Wesson should stick to guns.
That rainbow smith and Wesson was a knife I had in my child hood or similar to. Kinda a trip far back.
The liners on the s&w are probably steel or aluminum electro plated in titanium or something
That's a good thought, and close - but I did some research and they kind of put a rainbow chemical treatment on them. Its totally fake in any case.
I'm actually a fan of that S and W knife design. It's a good template. It's a good size. If it was black and tactical with better materials, maybe I would carry it.
Better materials is the key for me. I'll dal with a lame rainbow, if the materials are solid.
@@DocP91B yeah. I just think it's a nice sized knife, plus the holes in the handle look cool. But yeah. If the quality was higher, than maybe.
Is it ok that I like that rainbow knife
It's totslly ok. In fact it's good. Never let anyone tell you what to like or don't like. The only opinion that matters is yours! I just make my videos the way I do so that people know exactly what they get when they spend their money. If you like that knife, or a knife like it, you should spend your money on whatever you are happy spending it on. At the end of the day that is what really matters.
I definitely like the look. Though the quality is very dubious.
Most Smith & Wesson knives leave something to be desired but I will say I bought an S&W HRT fixed blade dagger it came relatively Sharp it holds an edge and is overall pretty solid, I mostly use it as a beater blade hunting and camping but for the $20 that I paid for it overall I was really satisfied I mean really how much knife can you really expect for $20.
Try a brand like Kubey, or some of Kershaw's lower end line, and you'll see some really great blades in that price range. It all comes down to how much work the company is willing to put into it. TO be fair we know that S&W isn't making the knives. They are just contracting another company to do it.
@@DocP91B Yeah I think it's Taylor brands that makes most of these crappy knives under the S&W name as well as others.
Jesus christ that Cold Steel has the thickest spine on a knife I have ever seen.
