- The Boys In The Band once again moved from Broadway to our screens thanks to Ryan Murphy and Netflix, and we just can't get enough of its fabulous all-gay cast!
But who are those actors behind the scenes and who are their real-life partners? Watch this video to learn more about the amazing nine: Jim Parsons, Zachary Quinto, Matt Bomer, Andrew Rannells, Charlie Carver, Robin De Jesus, Brian Hutchison, Michael Benjamin Washington and Tuc Watkins.
Zachary Quinto aka Harold came out in 2011 after a teenage tragedy. He was in a long-term relationship with model Miles McMillan, but the couple broke up in early 2019.
Robin de Jesús was the only one in the cast to get a Tony nomination for The Boys In The Band play in 2019, but his portrayal of Emory almost didn’t happen! He is reportedly single, but we know the name of his celebrity crush!
Andrew Rannells is dating his on-screen partner Tuc Watkins, and they raise Tuc's two children together.
Matt Bomer came out in 2012, and by that time he was already married to publicist Simon Halls. The couple stays strong and they are happy parents to three teenage kids.
Charlie Carver has made a long way from being a child actor alongside his twin brother to landing a role in the next Batman movie. The actor is grateful to his fans and community for insane support on his coming out in 2016.
Jim Parsons keeps showing us that he's equally good in both comedy and drama. In 2017 he married his partner of 14 years, producer Todd Spiewak.
Michael Benjamin Washington is the only African American in the “white tribe” of gay friends, and he had the important mission of bringing up race issues in LGBTQ story. The actor said he never hid who he was, yet he keeps his private life away from the media.
Brian Hutchison knew that everyone would hate his character, still he felt that the role of Alan suited him best. In real life, he's out and proud, and does not hide his partner from social media. The actor has been happily married to real estate agent Ron Maggio since 2018.

But let’s not forget the first play was possible only because of three straight cast willing take a risk, as not everyone was willing to be associated with it, even gay actors.
Straight guys playing gay roles is not always a issue , it has helped us a lot in the past to get our story out.
Having said that I am so happy to see all these actors playing the roles that they can relate to or know someone like that. Whole time i watched this movie I was able to see so many familiar scenarios and characters. We all know someone like all of these guys or is these guys.
Matt Bomer is also currently in The Doom Patrol playing the Negative man
Great movie, incredible cast . We need more like this... people must know to respect and understand.
The fact that the entire cast consisted of actors who actually belong to LGBTQ+ is so empowering.
I had originally hate "Boys In The Band", because the guys are all a MESS! lol They still are, but having an all openly gay cast playing these roles, shows how far we have come since the play first hit the scene. I think of it differently. A very talented group of actors!

The commercials that are so awkwardly inserted into this piece are quite funny. Just before the section on Jim Parsons is the commercial that starts: “What is the five word question that you should never ask a woman if you want her to sleep with you?. Who cares. I believe being gay is a part of life were all human beings my only problem is why does people and Tv programs always use tv or loud voices about being gay. Straight people dont have the need to tell the wprld and yes I understand how hard it was to come out and all the haters etc yet todays different in fact even gay men and lesbians judge one another. They should have left this classic alone. I am so tired of these people doing this stuff. I have never seen a remake that was as good as the original. I think mostly they do this to save money on scripts and then we have fewer quality writers anymore. My relative worked in the movie business and he warned me years ago about this type of thing. One year they made 4 movies from a script done in the 50's. And they finally got caught redoing tv series scripts just slightly altering them...Sad.
Musical revivals are good, like I think the falsettos revival is just a good as the original, maybe better
