  • Join Dr Katja Fischer and her team at the QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute as they as they show you through their laboratory. They will introduce you to some of their projects towards new diagnostics and drugs for future use in scabies outbreaks. You’ll find out about scabies parasites and why it’s important to study them. You will have the opportunity to learn about the disease that these parasites cause, and what research is underway to make a change.

    It’s terrible and doctors in Australia have such a terrible understanding of how these mites work, how inadequate permethrin is and please tell doctors to stop gatekeeping ivermectin. Please make people understand surreptitious scabies, nodular scabies and the reality that some immune systems cannot fight them normally and they can live on your scalp.
    Please get moxidectin approved and why isn’t sulphur cream more available. Honestly after 1000s spent on treatment and doctors not recognising obvious symptoms I couldn’t be more frustrated.
    The infections and general fatigue is awful.

      Not only in Australia, also in Germany. These incompetent doctors are destroying lifes. They are not able to diagnose it, because they use only a few seconds to check your body and if they diagnose it, Permethrin is the only thing they know. And, they call Permethrin the gold standard. If permethrin does not work, the patient is not able to cream the body correct.....about 50times? Aha! But anyway, the whole medicine you can get is not working. I have checked everything. I used around 100packs of Ivermectin 4x3mg, I used Benzylbenzoate for weeks, I tried Moxidectin for horses, I tried Crotamitex and a lot of different natural remedies. Nothing helps. This is now for nearly 2 years!!! What will help? Gazoline and fire?

      These demon mites I call them must have been in that used dresser that my son got.he left and I took it. I sprayed my room with PERMITHERIN but not my dresser they were in my clothes. Parathyroids don't work their immune to it ,! I found a website EARTH Clinic and the info on there was very helpful. Use 20 Mule Team Borax and 3% hydrogen peroxide! I mix 1 CUP of Borax and 2 CUPS OR MORE of Peroxide. Borax is made from a natural Boran soak in very hot bath for at least 45 MINUTES it's hard but worth it. Do this about 3 times a week. I've still have them. Going to a skin Dr. Very soon. I know PERMITHERIN DOES not work anymore we need ivermectin! I will throw a fit if I can't get these damn doctors to help me! 🤔😩

    I think one of the first steps to solving the problem is making treatment more accessible without having to jump through all of the hoops the doctors put you through. Not everyone can afford repetitive doctor visits or repetitive prescriptions. It should not be so difficult for people to receive diagnosis and treatment for something so widespread and contagious. Treatment should be easily available without prescription.

      I got a terrible infestation scalp to toes a couple of months ago from doing hoarding cleanup in an abandoned house. Tea tree oil, aloe vera gel, sulfur soap 3 x daily, get in ears, nostrils, treat scalp too. wash all clothes and bedding/towels daily. These things are super scabies, they are still alive in my car despite the fact that there's nothing to feed on in there and I clean and spray my car daily. The cdc says they can live for 3 days with no host, definitely not true. I think the cdc is wrong about how long you have to treat them, I've had to do it daily for 2 months and I'm just starting to get back to normal, it's exhausting fighting these buggers!

      @@lindalewis5222 it turned out to be Morgellons disease, the scabies were apparently infected with Morgellons. In the end I had to get a prescription for 5% permethrin cream, left it on for 20 hrs, tons of things that looked like coffee grounds came out of my skin for days. Then I found red, blue, black and white fuzzballs in a few of the pores of my face. I had to completely change my diet, eating clean, limiting caffeine, no alcohol. I drink alkaline water, I take 6000 MG of curcumin turmeric, Omega fatty acids, iron, zinc, MSM, NMN, oregano w caprilic acid, collagen, biotin, echinecea, daily, and bathe 2 x daily with Epsom salt, essential oils, and a capful of bleach. I have no symptoms of Morgellons that are visible to the naked eye, but under magnification I do shed small black specks, and I get small black fibers on the surface of my skin. If you tho k you had a parasitic skin infection and it doesn't go away, and you have lesions, forgetfulness, joint pain and bad allergies, you may have Morgellons. I drench myself in liquid, Farm Grade Premetherin....I've done it ALL!!! I'm almost positive that these mites could possibly live, & survive with the intense lengths I've gone through. So I really think that I had a severe allergic reaction to the mites themselves, the eggs but mostly the feces they produce..it's crazy! I've also come to another conclusion, I live in the Deep South..the Alabama, Florida line..100 miles from The Gulf Coast, where we experience severe Heat, Humidity for long periods of time. We have very little Winters..the temperature rarely drops below 50-60 degrees and when it does, it quickly warms back up. This brings me to theory that these mites and many other mites, insects and other rodents just become more and more resistant.. I do know that it'll drive you insane! Especially at night...omg! It's took ravick on my skin with all of the damaging and powerful methods of treatment I've tried. . ..

    I've had these for years. I made a homemade face toner with witch hazel (16 ounce with the alcohol in it) . Remove enough to accommodate: 1/3 cup vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon citric acid ( I use this when I am canning), and 10- 12 drops frankincense essential oil. The bugs don't like it and will emerge. Then you can wash your face with a washcloth. I even put it in my hair and leave on for an hour. It doesn't kill them all, but slows them down. They don't like these ingredients. I bathed in a couple containers of hydrogen peroxide and a full canister of iodized table salt every day for 2 weeks and nearly got rid of them, but somehow they came back. At least it gave me some peace. Sorry for being so long-winded. Oh, I also put tape on the lesions.

      research dmso with distilled water, equal parts, applied 3x a day, or aloe vera 3x a day. for environment-home, car, office, garage, etc-use a flea killing spray with igr, rotate pesticide at each spraying.

    Is Washing cloths at 90 degree temp and drying cloths at more than 30 degree temp enough to kill these mites?

    • @lindalewis5222
      @lindalewis5222 Před rokem +1

      Nope! Hotter water I heard at least 130 degrees. Highest temp on your dryer. I put a little bleach in also and let them soak for an hour before washing. You can't get rid of them if their in your clothes I learned that!! 😩

      @luizclaudioferreira3810 Před 3 lety +1

      I'm using cipermethrin concentrated only at some spots and it still can expel all of them. But adding some natural products definitely has helped. I'm a pharmacist but I've already lost my on those industrial medicines. Recently I discover a plant, a palm-tree which produces some specie of a small sticky coconut, which works as a trap for those bastards. I also have scabies living in my jaw line. I had them in my body probably my entire life, only found out it recently. You will need also clean your clothes and bed all the time, and use a vacuum. I like to use that dark side of kitchen sponges on my clothes.
