- In this guide I will explain how to use HE and HESH with some examples. Many have asked for this sort of video after i published some kill montages using high explosive, and, well, here you go.

In short:
- the higher the caliber, the more likely the kill
- HE is not for direct penetration, but for shrapnel damage
- aim for spots that are close to the weakly armored turret roof or top of the hull
- HESH is more reable with thick armor, although only availible on tier 6 and higher
So where do you aim when you have side shot of something like (t54 , m48 ... ) because shoot HE to side armor do little to no damage
@@vinhluu4765 honestly I believe there is nothing you can do to the side of those with HE. Your best shot is to aim for the turret roof or try to take out the barrel / tracks to stop them from advancing.

Maus do have alot of 10mm plate on hull roof so it can be killed with HE

Started using HESH on my Leopard I platoon and also aiming for Cupola cause the indicator is green. (Cause always killed that way by the FV4005 when I'm using T95)
But after seeing this video I've got one question. Is it no need to search the green indicator spot if we use HESH?

One other thing you might find useful - in some tanks weak spots are located on the bottom. Shooting under the tank, on the inside of the track can have great results. Pretty much best way to kill T95 using any Soviet 122 HE

@@joshwoddy7037 Nah, side hull is behind the tracks, what I meant is the bottom of the tank, between the tracks. You can shoot it if tank faces you, or away from you. It's not visible to you, so you can shoot the ground under the tank, which is less effective due to clearance, or on the inner side of the track, explosive filler would overpressure the tank hull from the bottom
Only FV4005 is the only HE slinger that I'm scared off, when using my Maus🤣
It may satisfied using HESH / HE to destroy enemy tank but once enemy turret turn on you at any direction just put you phone down and pray for him to let him missed the shot

IS-2 observation devices: I doubt that
(two times, I hit the observation device of IS-2(1944) and it only kill the gunner and commander)
I just want to ask. Which spot on the Maus that an Fv4005 shell can overpressure and kill an entire crew? I tried to shoot a Maus from the side once and it failed miserably.
If you manage to hit one of the small cupolas on top of the turret you should be able to kill it. Otherwise, try to aim somewhere you know there is an ammo storage. If the armor is thick enough, the shapnel might not travel very far.

I think Gaijin reworked the overpressure mechanics.I tried shooting HE rounds at a ARL 44's tach turret from behind and it did absolutely nothing.
What shells were you using? Btw, try aiming for the cupolas on top instead, it's more reliable
I hit him 2 times.1 time right below the turret from behind on the engine deck and one with an absolute skill issue from the side which completely Disintegrated and not even damaging the track.KV 2 HE shells suddenly appear weak.

4:04 actually with jagdtiger it takes 2 shot , i tried many times, i cant penetrate that tank even with mesh coils

APFSDS, although I usually also carry some HEAT rounds just in case
Question: Is the HESH round on the RU251 viable to use because the HEAT round I find not being reliable so I use HESH
Can you tell me the specs of the shell? It shouldn't have less than 3.5 kg TNT equivalent

I think HESH is definetely superior because it requires less skill and is availible on more tanks. HE is still pretty fun though, you just gotta use the right shell caliber.

Btw, how to kill m48 using HE? I don't remember killing m48 using HE, even obj 120, M103 HE cannot kill the m48
Yeah i have also tried it numerous times with different tanks and shells and came to the conclusion... that it's just not possible. Through the engine block maybe but I'm not sure about that.
Maybe if you hit right side of cupola. Hull roof is 57 mm thick, but turret roof varying from 25 - 69 mm. Maybe 25 mm at middle of turret roof
@@katz_wtmthat means the m48 is immune to HE frontally 😬😬. But I’ve seen some youtuber knock m48 using obj 120 he, he hit the gun mantlet i think. Do you want the link to the video?
