I remember when Doug Demuro did his first Plaid review. He said it was quite possibly the best all-around car ever made. I'm an owner and I think it is. It just does everything.
Awesome to hear that. All I ever hear is hate from NON-Tesla owners
13:22-13:29 “I can feel the tension from here” 😂
The acceleration is crazy, watching a video does NOT compare to real life at all you really need to experience it to really appreciate it.
Yeah, I've been in a model 3 performance on the track and even that thing makes you feel like you're on a rollercoaster. The plaid must be unreal
It’s crazy, I’ve been looking for a video like this for over six months. Keep posting greatness
Nice! I'll do my best
Same thx!
Tesla is the best car company ever ! No gas stations, No oil changes, No smog check, No corrupt dealerships, No catalytic converter and faster than a $650,000 Lamborghini
and break lights that fog up after 3 recalls!!!
It’s the perfect flex car. I’d only get this car to troll.
@@RY97zexactly haha!
I love your "What's like to live with __" videos, because not only are the cars interesting, seeing you and Mobile Mama living with it, and you two being so likeable and all of that, I LOVE IT (I have like 6 of these videos on my Watch Later list)
So great to hear! Thanks for the encouragement.
Thank you for the video. This is exactly what i was looking for. Subscribed !
Wrong info regarding Full Self Driving. Subscription at $99/month is a new option. People who own it still fully own it. The full price is $8000.
autopilot comes for free with every tesla. Full Self Driving is 99 a month but it will drive you completely from point A to B making left turns right turns stopping at lights and Uturns. Autopilot just will stay in the lane and regulate speed for you. but Autopilot is insanely good for being a free add on.
this is a epic video and a legendary car and I just ordered a model y and it’s gonna add to my car collection i own a ioniq 5 a polestar 2 and the model y and when I get enough money I will probably get this! Also keep up the good work miles.
The Model S is the best car of the both world !! Super practical looks super cool and wide, very slick nice designs!!!
Fun fact: The average person fills up their gasoline car once a week, and it takes about 5 minutes. 5 minutes times 52 weeks equals 260 minutes a year. That's 4 hours and 20 minutes a year standing next to a gas ⛽.
I'm never going back to gasoline.
5 minutes to tank gas?🤣
@@t-banan Cut it down to 3 minutes if you want. Do the math.. that's still a long time every year. People who get gas wait longer to fill up than people who charge their car. 100% fact.
@@TheMadmax0609 Definitely not true, it takes max 2 minutes for me to fill my Volvo xc70 2.5 D5, and on a full tank i can drive 800KM + you will charge your little toy car more than twice for that distance, and it will take you several hours. Theres your math.
@@t-banan It's impossible to fill up a gasoline car in two minutes because you're not taking into consideration the drive time to the gas station, pulling up to the pump, grabbing your credit card, swiping it and entering your ZIP code and then standing there, next to your car... Waiting. I've had electric cars for over 4 years and I've never stood next to them waiting for them to fill up, not once.
If you think getting gas, waiting for oil changes and dealership maintenance visits are more convenient than plugging your car in when you get home you're not very bright. Think of it this way, how long does it take for you to plug your phone in before you go to bed?
How's your math now? 👈😘
Dude you probably wasted 4 hours yesterday watching Netflix.
I've put 43k miles into my Model S in 22 months. Commuting is a hoot, and the Full Self Driving turns long-distance driving into a First-class airplane ride. The styling is minimal and yet timelessly gorgeous. My only major complaint is the lack of seat extensions. Even at 5'9", the seats are too short.
You have a profile memory so when you in your vehicle its know it is you and set the sit, steering wheel, mirror to your liking. And you can turn on auto cancel turn signal.
I am currently driving the same Outback with the same color as yours!!
So cool
12:21 love that blue a5 sportback ❤
Amazing review!!! Where did you get it? It’s pretty hard to get these to revuew
Tesla of Irvine

Thank you for the support!
great review of a great car
My only gripe is you didn’t get the yoke for your plaid. You can’t see the instrument cluster properly plus the yoke is the soul of the Model S
13:26 wow that part was GOLD, WHAT ARE THE ODDS LOL
😂😂😂
Love you and family
Your the best
Makes me think you must be a wee bit Scottish 😉 ❤
😂 👍
Strongly considering the LR. I just don’t see myself needing 2.1s vs 2.9s or 163mph top speed vs 144mph for an additional $14k. I love power and speed but where I live I will have a tough time opening up the LR more or less the Plaid.
14:20 Those are wireless phone chargers in the arm rest!
Yep! Sorry we missed that
I never really understood the criticism of adjusting mirrors and steering wheel via the screen. You do that one single time when you get the car and then maybe a couple of times after for adjustments. That’s it. The upshot is that the profile is saved and can be applied to any other model S if need be.
The criticism stems from not understanding what improvements were gained from making the switch from physical to digital controls. Seems like the primary motivation is cost-cutting under the guise of innovation; but it cannot be innovative if it solves a non-existent problem.
And this issue is irrespective of frequency of use because it is a concession regardless.
Of course, digital controls are not without their merits. There are certain functions such as navigation that would not work without a screen. But as more functions are relegated to the screen, the less intuitive all of its functions become due to the increasing complexity.
(As an aside, the upshot of saving profiles can be implemented regardless of interface and doesn't necessarily invalidate the use of physical controls for the functions you mentioned.)
@@WhatisaLee all fair points, and with respect to many other functions that usually are solved using physical buttons and switches etc. I absolutely understand the criticism.
Just not with steering wheel and mirrors. I just don’t get how that is a big deal, but maybe I’m the weird one (fully possible).
yeah im gonna get one thanks
Most of the features you're describing are in most of the teslas. They did a great job across the board on these cars.
This is the type of content I’m going to start putting out. Because this is cool.
Sure, it has good Air-C, and UV filtered glass? and stuff, but how many minutes does it take on a summer day for it to get cool enough inside for you to not melt off of your seat?
1 minute
i would say it was faster then 2.19 seconds as the speed in speedometer in car and gps wasn not going same, gps was but delayed to catch the speed
It's the only car I've ever bought that is better now than it was when I bought it. It really is a unicorn in the auto world
Which would you prefer as a daily driver, Audi RS5 Competition or Tesla Model S?
Is it me or does this guy sometimes sound like Kermit the Frog?
will you ever do something like this with the model x?
Sure!
We have a 2023 Tesla Model X Plaid and overall, it's a sensational car to live with as daily transportation. While I got acquainted to the stalkless indicator buttons on the yoke (love the yoke btw) and auto shift from park pretty quickly, that exhilarating acceleration from just about any speed is something I've learned to enjoy as a perk of EV ownership in general and Tesla Plaid ownership specifically. Along with our Model 3, they're just SO east to live with that the only negative I can come up with is that we waited so long to make the switch and could have enjoyed this lifestyle a long time ago.
If you paid the full price for FSD you 100% never need to pay to use it. Its basically a stock feature of your car that you can use whenever. The subscription is a new thing that is an alternative to instead paying the full price of FSD. Its like leasing vs buying a car. If you buy a car the compnay wont make you lease the car on top of it to use the car 😂
when did they get rid of the yoke steering wheel?
You should try the new auto shift gear.
Definitely need that turn signal lever back.. almost a deal breaker
22:06 Haha I thought 30 minutes sounded high.
Impressive ev woohoo ❤
“HeeeEeeEEEYYy” lol
Is it just me or the over exaggeration is kind of funny I love the car though. I’m getting a performance model three coming in a week.
A couple of corrections. 1) Teslas do not have cross traffic alert. Especially now that the ultrasonic sensors have been removed, there are no front or rear corner sensors/cameras. 2) That is not the standard Autopilot being demonstrated. That is FSD. You can tell from the enhanced visualization.
Teslas have rear cross traffic emergency braking.
Kudos to Tesla for bringing back to steering wheel instead of the yoke
You live near me. I go to the grocery outlet all the time on Newport Ave.
“Cofeee who” 😂😂😂😂
What cars do you own?! Very curious as a guy who drives tons of vehicles
After watching this I'm mostly shocked at how bad the roads are over there.
Im hoping the next update of the S features a head-up display. All the other price competitors (mercedes, BMW, Audi, Porsche) have a head up display.
Try getting in and out of the backseat. That backdoor is super hard not to hit car next to it.
Are you going to test FSD? You have it on the S
Disappointed he didn't talk about FSD (supervised)
Sorry I wasn't told by Tesla that my vehicle came equipped, so I presumed it didn't have FSD
@@MilesPerHr It would've said it, but fsd is a video on its own!
hi miles!
hey!
Can u do what's it like to live with a 2020 Shelby GT500?
If I can find an owner, yep!
@@MilesPerHr Nice 👍
15:40 the rear headrests are removable. RTFM.
The color is nice!! you could have fit all the groceries in the back , but you would be playing Tetris
to be completely honest, since the price for the plaid now is from 60 to 70k to some cases, i'm skeptical of whether buying that used or getting the refreshed tesla model 3 performance that is a little cheaper, and doesn't have that much features tho.
Miles did you notice any vibration when accelerating in this? It's an epidemic... SO many of them have had a vibration issue for years. Tesla has never been able to fix it!
My S Plaid has a little vibration only when cold or hasn't been driven for several hours. It goes away after a couple min. I don't even think about anymore.
I did notice it. It was sporadic though, so I wasn't sure if I was imagining it
I think you really need a model X plaid instead of S. All the space concerns are addressed there.
Bro almost dented his Tesla plaid for fun 🫣
My dad got a loaner model s plaid, let me tell you. You don’t know speed until you get in one of these bro. Never again, great experience but never again😭😭😭
2024 models now come with sport seats
Who makes the red corduroy pants you’re wearing in the video? They look great. 👍🏽
Haha, these are banana republic (got them at an outlet a couple years back)
Used Plaids are getting into the $60s. Very very tempting.
Bro that's 3 full meals for lunch How many calories you burning 🔥 😳 😅
I have a blessed metabolism
Toddler approved is the only car I’m gonna buy…
Is there Apple Music on the car?
And do you see those purple lights in the day time
You can lift the headrests in the rear seats to thread underneath them. Don’t think they can be totally removed, but you certainly can lift/extend.
2.1 seconds?? Waaaiiitt a minute. I just got done building mine a few minutes ago before watching this, and it says 1.99 seconds to 60. 🤔
Hey that’s momma car reviewer
🇺🇸
Could u do the audi r8 spyder?
I've covered the R8 Coupe and Spyder pretty extensively already, and since it ended production, getting a loan for a DITL (day in the life) would be kinda tough
As amazing as this car is, it's in DESPERATE need of a redesign.
It is not in the need of a redesign anytime soon because Tesla made such a good car from the beginning in 2012 with model S
Yes it does dude. It's a good car in all but we need to get some styling changes. It's looked pretty much the same for over a decade.
@@444thunderstr0ke see that’s the issue. It’s already in style and there’s only one design in style now and it’s the model s. You can’t make a nicer windshield, headlight, fender, or door. The cars mint as is. You could make changes but it would be a downgrade.
@@RabatinLLC Bro what 💀I know for a fact it won't be a downgrade. If they were successful in making a GREAT looking redesigned Tesla Model 3, then I believe in their abilities in doing the same for the Model S/X.
not yoke ?
They now have the option to have either yoke or normal wheel since I think second production year of the refresh
Tried my buddy X with the yoke and honestly not a fan of it
Biggest föe!
Please dont look over to the passenger side dash cam while youre driving a 2-lane highway!
faster than the lucid he tested
I thought wheel was a yolk
for 1000
Honestly evs are fast and all but they just dont have the, the thing that makes me like real cars, gas cars. I dont really care about its performance sometimes, if it keeps me on time, it works.

except for when the battery fails at 100k and you have to spend 20k to repair it
nobody owns these cars for over 100k they're usually leased or traded in.
plus, the warranty goes for 8 years/150,000 miles.
My friend has a 2019 s plaid with 180k and nothing has happened.
Well if that happens it will be under warranty. If you get past 150k you'd have to replace the battery out of pocket. But let's not pretend that cars in its price range engines are cheap. Most are 20-50k depending on the car. Plus most of them couldn't make it to 100k without big issues anyway.
@XxViciousxX Toyota: Hold my sake!
@@user-eo2qt2ri9clol what. Toyota doesn't have anything that goes head to head with this in the market.
Miles that model s plaid has Full Self Driving installed on it. Basic Auto pilot doesn’t automatic change the lane on its own. You should enter an address and do a video 😅
8 hours for 262 miles...?
Bruh, that's with home charging. Wherein the charge rate is limited and you can limit the charging to 80% like he did. If you wanted to you could stop at a supercharger and get 0-100% in 30m, which is 359 miles. And this is the plaid version of the car (like the normal but ridiculously fast, 0-60 in 1.9s), if you get the standard Model S which is 66k, you get 400 miles of range in 30m of charging. Oh and it still hits 0-60 in 3s lol.
Charging overnight while you sleep, yes.
I can't stand tesla or Elon, but I love my Tesla S Plaid. Ultimate daily driver imo; so practical, quick, and fast.
I also have a Camaro ZLE manual as my weekend toy. Best of both worlds!!
Makes no sense why would you buy it then?
You can appreciate the art but hate the artist
@@ldyIanlExactly
You can definitely stand Tesla if you’re driving their product.
I didn't actually think any real human being used the term "exasterbated"
Shame they did away with stalks. It's a deal breaker for me for buying a new tesla now.
As a gymbro and a car guy can we talk about dudes massive fore arms
YOUR WIFE IS MOBILE MAMA?!
I was wondering that too. They are really cute together
She is!
Bro said “oww” during acceleration!
Nah bro the plaid speed is literally some roller coaster feel, it’s not normal
1:35 he needs to get to his car to figure out he forgot his phone. I mean cmon!! What kind of licking is this n
Tesla literally makes the best cars. IDC what anyone says. no oil changes, break jobs, transmission fluid changes, spark plugs, belts, ignition coils ect. the time you spend sitting in a shop waiting for your oil change is insane. There's no comparison to going electric. Its literally better in every way
It's not a 2024.
No physical buttons on the dash and no gear shifter? Uh, no thanks.
