Working in arcade,we only display the boxes of items that are normally in their boxes. When the customers gets the prize/box,they have to exchange it to us for the real prize and we ask for your key back soooo no,your theory is not possible.

Typically there is an empty box. Ypu have to send in the code and you will get the actually prize. My buddy won a Nintendo Switch off one of these type of games for 3 bucks.
