- Taking off a stubborn lock ring of a Whirlaway. I had already taken the plumbing off, and after the video I flipped the disposal upside down and disconnected the electrical (turning power off first!). The video is crude and unedited.
A clamped wrench + hammering it out was what I needed to get my stubborn stuck disposal unseated. Thanks for the video, no one else has addressed how to get a completely stuck EZ mount removed. Helps a ton for fellow amateurs.
After about a dozen videos this was SO HELPFUL!! Thank you!!
Thank you for showing me where to grab on. I took 2 screw drivers and turned mine with no problem.
Thank you so much. I've removed 20 years old waste disposal with your help.
Thank you for video. Was looking for a way to remove my old garbage disposal. Helps me a lot!
Thank you!! Mine was stuck and I was about to give up then found your video. Just had to get rough with it lol
Exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!!!!!
This video definitely helped me!!! BIG THANKS!
Thank you! This helped me out a whole lot! Good job, my friend!
Worked great. Thanks!
@sergiopacheco7115 the flange is attached to the sink with plumber’s putty, so it should pull off after you take all the other stuff off it. You may want to take a knife you don’t care about and try to pry it off (from above the sink, not underneath). I’m guessing if you search, you can find other videos on how to remove kitchen sink flange. Good luck!
Did the flange screw off or did you just pull it off? Cant get mine off and your video unfortunately missed that part.
excellent video. this garbage disposal unit is so cheap..I didnt even bother taking it off, just cleaned it best possible and applied the putty
Have you tried using some type of lubricant like deputy 40 or BB blaster?
Why didn’t you first spray it with silicone or wd-40 ?
Why didn't you just use an oil filter wrench, or a large pipe wrench to grab the pot metal ring? ? You can rent the big wrench, if you didnt have one
That would have been a better way for sure, but I was trying to work with what I had on hand and not spend any money/more time trying to get this off. Great suggestion for this stubborn situation!
