Love your content buddy ❤ Just a quick question if you don’t mind; I have been shooting nightlife for more than 4 years now and I use the a7iii but never had the chance to try s-log profile because I am worried if I would get my footage messed up, You know better I guess so should I go for it ?! Or wait until I get a better camera that can handle more than 8bit ?! And thanks 😊

Hey , thank you 🫶🏻 about your question, this is a 10 bit footage so it’s much easier to get a better result. But I think give it a try. Just don’t try it on a important client work so if it’s messed up it won’t be a problem 😄

My name is Habtamu and i am from Ethiopia. I want to learn more from you. I love the way you color-grade your footage. I do have a7C with SONY 18-105 f4 G OSS APSC lens. You think it is enough to get such kind amazing footage.

Hi Habtamu, thank you for your interest in my videos. as for your question, I think it is definitely a very good starter setup. Color grading can give you great results if you pay attention to composition and lighting while shooting. Just practice a lot and don't give up. 🕺

Do you think de-flicker would look good on this shot too?

One more thing i would like to add is when you colour grade using different parameters you should explain "why" we are doing a particular thing . Explain What if we do and don't do an alternative step for that particular parameter . And sir you are teaching as you understand by yourself only and teach a little bit slower . No problem if video is lengthier. Hope you understand sir you have exceptional skills but regarding teaching, improvement is needed

What exactly the colour space transformation is?
What is input, output and gamma in that? Please explain clearly and in crisp manner
What happens if we don't utilise cst? Is there any problem without using?
If we use it how worth it is ?

    • @moonbowb

Hello, yes maybe I should be a bit more specific. Color space transform is actually used to convert camera images with different color sience (like Arri, Red or Sony) into a single color space. That is Rec709. We are converting it to rec709 because it is the standard created for all the monitors and displays we use.
If you are shooting in log it is better to use cst. I think it is a better workflow for color accuracy.
I hope this makes sense, maybe I'll make a video about this.
