(English)
Takeshi Hongo, a young scientist boasting of an IQ of 600 and a racing prodigy, was kidnapped and turned into a cyborg mutant by the evil secret society of Shocker. He goes on to fight the Shocker as a cyborg mutant despite his struggles.

He was so dedicated for the part, even when he was injured after a stunt & had to stop production until he was healed, he asked the director to keep continue doing stunts. But TOEI producers didn't allow him to do more stunts because it was too risky for the main actor & that's when Kamen Rider's suit actor legacy started.

Akiji Kobayashi was allowed to play the role Tobei Tachibana in Kamen Rider series as his contract with Tsuburaya is expired..There are Ultraman and Tsuburaya Production actors who also appeared in Toei tokusatsu shows like Jiro Dan (Robot 8-chan),Tetsuya Oonishi (Kamen Rider Super-1 and Gavan),Naoki Tachibana (Kagestar) and Susumu Kurobe who appeared multiple times in episodes of Gavan,Winspector and Kamen Rider Black.

Btw, interesting fact: Hiroshi Fujioka (Hongo's Actor) actually watched the 1st episode of the series from his hospital bed. He had injured himself on his motorcycle during filming, and at that time, the series hadn't even aired yet. And that's why they use suit actors (I think)! The more you know!

Yes, true but the problem this one is in 480p SD, while the one on Shout Factory TV's website and their TokuShoutsu's YT channel is in HD. So I'm baffle why Toei's YT channel is using SD when there's already an HD material available. Why didn't they use the same HD material Shout Factory already using rather then this inferior SD.
Also, they should have used the subtitles Shout Factory used, that could've saved them time and resources from doing the subtitles "CC" themselves.

Just how popular this Kamen Rider is in Thailand. even slang 'Ki Ki' (กีกี้) also came from this show. which is a common term referring to Villains basic henchmen, the term still found its use even in Zenkaigers (EP10 to refer to Tojitendo Kudakks).
And from here sprang not a single legend, but an entire legacy of heroes. This is the beginning of the saga of the greatest heroes ever known. This is the beginning of the Kamen Riders!

Kamen Riders were the real deal in my childhood… you can‘t even compare them to the newer ones… Decade was probably the last cool rider ( and only because of his skillset and plot with all the riders and so on ).
My top 3 series:
- Faiz
- Agito/Kuuga ( I count them as one )
- Kabuto
That original blue-green suit is my favorite look for Ichigo. New Ichigo has too many colors, and Sakurajima is nice, but the dark green isn't as unique as the original blue-green. The pink eyes are another unique touch

Um... I'm from the UK. This upload of episode one is the first time I've actually seen Kamen Rider, and all I have to say is HOW THE HELL HAS THIS NOT GOTTEN A HOME VIDEO RELEASE OVER HERE YET?! Before you say something uncultured like "Toku isn't viable in Britain", I'll let you know that if you did your research, you'd know that people in the 1970s-early 1980s grew up on a diet of dubbed Godzilla movies, Monkey and Star Fleet/X-Bomber. And years later, we have a growing cult market for this kind of thing, with us not just receiving the expensive Showa Godzilla boxset but also full home video releases for stuff like Daimajin and the Gamera franchise.
Considering that the later adult-oriented Black Sun was imported over here on Prime video, and this show swaps in and out of Pluto TV circulation, We brits are long overdue for a home video release of anything Kamen Rider-related. I mean, at least the 2000s film adaptations and 2023 film reboot (Kamen Rider: The First and The Next and this year's Shin Kamen Rider) could eek out a release by either Arrow or Crunchyroll (formerly Manga Entertainment, now merged), so... Can someone please do the honours?
