“We’re not gonna drown the chilaquiles in that mole”
ME, a Mexican: QUEEEEEEEEEE!?!?!?!?!?
JAJAJAJA I thought the same! 🤣
¡Exacto! Y no...
jaajajaja
As a Mexican, those are the most dry chilaquiles I've seen in my life.
Aka nachos 😂
LMAO
🤣
Coincido realmente feos parecen nachos
I agree judging from my Mexican food experience in San Diego. But for me this is quite simple: if u like crispy and dry chips, then use less salsa; if u like softer chips, use more salsa. Personally, I think it's gonna tastes better than most American food at same price, no matter if it is soft or crispy.
I never in my life would’ve thought I’d be the one judging Chief Gordon Ramseys cooking.

Chilaquiles are drowned in the salsa, not drizzled, that’s why Aaron said they were nachos
Lol exactly, that’s what I was thinking. Looks like nachos to me 🤣

Gordon is a professional chef but in situations like these I can see how he misses the assignment. Oaxaca has some of the greatest food in the world, it’s understandable that he hasn’t quite mastered it. I love Gordon hopefully he gets calls Aaron to get him right on this one. It’s Gordon’s take on a traditional dish. I don’t drown my chilaquiles in salsa either. Beans, scrambled eggs, queso fresco, and sour cream is what accompany my chilaquiles. Some prefer them drenched in salsa, others prefer them crunchy. It’s that simple.

Actually that is the entire point of the dish lol. Chilaquiles need to have the tortillas soaked until they're boderline soggy. Ive also never been to Oaxaca but in Mexico City and Guadalajara I only saw this with red or green salsa so I'm not sure people actually use mole on it

He actually said "Nachos" because it looks like nachos, Ramsay. As creative as you want to be as a chef, you wanna follow the original recipe. Chilaquiles are drowned in the sauce, to have them soften, and less cilantro please. Not because you add cilantro you would call something "Mexican". You don't want the cilantro flavor to be stronger than the Chilaquiles sauce. Cilantro HAS a strong flavor, BTW.

The reason why Gordon didn’t drawn the tortilla chips into the mole, is because he likes his tortilla to be “Crispy”
I know chilaquiles are supposed to be drawn in mole “not dry” But everyone (including chefs) have their own preferences.
If you put the sauce at the base of the plate then stack the rest of it on top, you get the best of both worlds. Every time you dip your spoon you get the sauce with the crispy chips. (This is for the people who don't really like soggy chips .)

I don’t think Chef Ramsay ever mentions he would make the recipe the same way you do. He’s a Chef, this recipe is his interpretation of the cuisine, this is what he does. That looks delicious and the ingredients are very appropriate according to my Mexican palette. The heat/eggs/fat/mole will soften those chips to the perfect bite. Cmon Raza, stop being so bitter.
He didn’t recognize them because Chilaquiles are prepared with sauce
you still eat them in the end
He used sauce. What are you smoking?
How about an American allegory?
There are DOZENS of regional variations on barbecue. Texas, Georgia, Tennessee...even Tennessee has its own variants within that variant! Memphis barbecue! Is it not entirely plausible and reasonable that there's also not just one (1) way of making chilaquiles? Not to mention that Gordon is pretty explicit about all these ingredients being leftovers.
@@farkasmactavish u need a lot more sauce than that and some chopped onion with queso fresco would of been fire, but I'm not from Oaxaca im from jalisco so it varies. Kinda like a hotdogs its diffrent in every state
@@farkasmactavish How about mexican reality? There are lots of ways of making chilaquiles: with red sauce, green sauce, with mole, as many types as sauces you can make... But if you do not soak the chips in the sauce you're not making chilaquiles. Chilaquiles means soaked in chile. So if you don't soak them, it is like saying you're making grilled cheese without the cheese or a beef Wellington without the beef.

As an American and not Mexican I can also attest to the complete dryness of those quiles.
The is a bomb little place in Puebla on a street corner than serves the best chilaquiles I've ever had in my life. !!!
I want to see him do the real mole with the 19 ingredients so he can be welcome to the barbecues
Gordon: Is in Oaxaca
Also Gordon: Doesn't use Oaxaca cheese
Hahaha.. true 🤣
You don't use Oaxaca cheese on chilaquiles wtf
EWWWWW
Chilaquiles don't use Oaxaca cheese
Pendejos
geez its a joke guys chill the fuck out
Sorry Gordon, no this time. Those are not Chilaquiles. There are much more clasic dishes in Oaxaca you could have picked.
Even Aaron didn´t recognize that dish as chilaquiles.
Omg! Gordon you need to go to Oaxaca!! Your mind and taste buds will be literally blown away!!! Also my mom’s food is the best! (Cause she’s from Oaxaca!!)
I agree with Sanchez, more nachos than chilaquiles lol.
Still looks tasty though.
I guess Gordon Ramsay breaks egg yolks too
@Mac Mike too much equipment you just need a flat and hard surface
Yup
@TommyInnit 🅥 that is so irrelevant
@@williammj9715 I actually find it easier to crack it hard on an edge or curved surface so that way, there's a gap already made and I don't have to push my fingers in and struggle with cracking the egg. If I crack it on a flat surface, I find it hard to open up the eggs because there is not gap I can hold
@TommyInnit 🅥 Is that "V" thing an attempt to fake a verified account? Just curious, of course.
Bro accidentally invented egg nachos 💀
the guy said theyre nachos. hahaha
As a mexican I still feel honored he came all the way to Mexico to have some regional cuisine. Hope to see more of this vids.
Mexican food is probably my favourite food over all of all the world's nations and cultures.
I’ve had chilaquiles many times, but I’ve never seen them prepared like that.
Like most Mexican cuisine, it can be prepared 100 different ways with a variety of ingredients. That's the beauty with Mexican food. It is so versatile..
@@drdoom246 no! There is nowhere in that country that is going to use a mole for chilaquiles ffs 🤣
Cause the only person that would make them like that is a mushy pea eater lol
@@damienjinxmisa I do them when there's left over mole. You can do chilaquiles with any kind of sauce or mole. Also you can do then with pipián. The thing is to use any thing that comes in handy and also it is tasteful
My Mexican mom would ask what the fk is that lmao
I had no idea he was trying to make chilaquiles lmao
The chips are usually wet down with the mole sauce a bit more.
