Extreme Plein Air Sketching - using mixed media at Godrevy beach in Cornwall during high wind and heavy rain!
For this outdoor sketch in very challenging conditions (in May!) I was lucky to have a Khadi cotton rag sketchbook in my bag. I knew this withstood wet weather very well and had strong board like covers to lean on. I also had water soluble Art Graf colour blocks, charcoal and casein white paint with me.
This was so much fun! I must get out more often by the sea in really bad weather. Normally I'm plein air sketching inland landscapes when it's extreme like this, but this was great by the coast!
