The A-10 is the U.S. most successful fighter jet in the world. No other aircraft offers any ground support. The adaptable capacity of the A-10 cannot be replaced. This plane should never be retired, and necessary for national defense. The F-16 does not offer close-air support, and a threat to ground troops.

I was at a nearby lake fishing with the family on Memorial Day a few years back. The warthog appeared out of nowhere having come over a nearby hill and low over the water. The sound was shocking and the speed was slow the pilot was clearly visible as was the barrel of that rotary cannon. I have never been so impressed with the power of an aircraft. Warthogs forever!

The Warthog is and will always be the go to , for ground support, with upgrades, like thaying goes if it ain't broke, just UP-GRADE it, it still the best

Lasers would be a great upgrade, then put them on all of our jets. Put them on our bombers, do they can defend themselves. Its like STAR WARS. And star trek. When are they going to come out with sheilds. For jets. Bombers. Tanks, soldiers..

My family has been in the Airforce since the Vietnam War.
I was stationed at hill af base in 76. We had a-10s there. They are a great plane for what they are built for. On plane will do what they can do for us.
Delivery of warthog Steve close to the islands near the contested areas in Indo pacific but with support of submarine and advance more fleets.

The A10 is a must for close support missions.
When stationed in England back in the early 90s, I watched four A10's fly above me, and the one on the left pulled up and flipped upside-down to the left. After completing this 90° left turn, it flipped back upright. I wish I had a cell phone with a good camera back then. LOL
But it all happened before I would have been able to get the camera ready. I was walking to the hazardous wast area to dump an oil pan full of old dirty oil from a vehicle I just changed the oil in. The GP maintenance was always next to the flightline. Except at Travis AFB. And Rhein-Main. That one was in an old round house barn. LOL
By all means a up grade.

Only about 10 seconds is devoted to LASER weapons...about everything is covered but LASERS...this video is more about retiring the A-10 in 2028-2029...

We have to upgrade this aircraft to continue to protect our troops from years to come. Until we have a competently reliable aircraft to replace the A-10. We have to keep what works the best

They should never replace the a10 , upgrade yes , but never retired, and never sent to places that have proven they dont have what it takes and just give up to the people they are fighting, and let the bad people take it and take them apart and make thier own versions. We cant send them to places whereother people can get thier hands on our tech more than they already have, period. Upgrade not retire, its a dumb move, it shouldnt even be an option

take it from someone that has had his bacon saved by this plane, it is the ferfect craft for what it was designed to provide. close air support. keep it forever. i would like to have some of the drugs that the people are taking that think the f-35 can do the same job as the a-10 because it must be some good stuff and i hope they would share.

We are NOT "behind" in any way. Do some homework: the U.S. spends more on its military than the top 5 other advanced countries in the world COMBINED. Anyone who tells you we are "behind" in any area of weaponry or intelligence gathering with satellites is either an idiot, or just massively misinformed.
Up grade this airplane let it keep fighting its done very well Up to this point why would you retire it now you have already spent so much Up to this point getting rid of it now would be a waste of the money you have already spent

They don't care about wasting money (it's just taxpayer's dollars, after all) - but the backlash from the soldiers on the ground who depend on this Angel of Death and Mercy for survival when surrounded, or in other bad circumstances, would be loud and mean. It would be like retiring a war hero early - it's saved so many lives, you could fit them in a small city. Maybe not so small.

The F35 cost a lot more than the A10 and the F36 can't do the job that the A10 can do use the F35 for what you made it for and don't leave are woman and men on the ground in harms way
