I’ve been single and celibate since 2011 (I was about 28 at the time). It’s now 2024. I turn 40 in August. For years I held silent resentment and FOMO about people in relationships. I was so afraid that I was missing out on life. I looked on social media and I was so jealous and just angry at God. I pretended for so long I was ok and when I finally confessed it to God the fear of missing out left me as far as relationships. And you know what? He has given me peace. I’m single and I’m not mingling and I’ve decided that since I’m single Lord we are going to make the best of this! ❤ The grass is greener where you water it. I’ve decided to water mine. If I’m minding other peoples business then who is minding mine? 🧐

I was JUST saying to my friend last night that I feel like I’m about to turn 50 and miss having someone. I was upset because turning 50 I thought I would have had a husband and family but I don’t. I will be planning my own 50th bday celebration instead of me and my ‘husband’ going somewhere together celebrating. And now this morning I see your message. Thank you for sharing! I know I’m not alone and I have to think of things just like you said. 💜

FOMO diminishes your view of your life 20:46 You will realize one day that the only enjoyment you get out of life is watching what others do with theirs 21:40. I have been here for many years, thinking I am happy for others when in reality I have diminished and not been happy about my life and lived vicariously through other people's lives. Thankful to God for this wisdom!

I am where and with who God intended for me to be at any given moment🙏🏾🙏🏾 you can still get the vacation or experience but it just might be at a different time in your life. I am a caregiver for my mom and the joy of still having one and being able to spend quality time with her is irreplaceable. It’s not always easy but it’s worthed!! ❤️🙏🏾

Chrystal this was so timely for me. Since turning 50 in December, I have been thinking about what or where I should be. FOMO is real!!! I need to stop judging my accomplishments on this stick that I think I don't measure up to because I am looking at other people and where they are from what I see. This lesson has truly made me think of how to find the joy of where I am currently in life. I love how God imparts wisdom ro you so you can share it with us!!! Continue to be great my sister. 😊

Wow, you found my heart again! I just love the insight God gives you. I have said it before and I'll say it again, thank you for finding us, meeting us where we are, and then helping us to soar! (Mandisa's song Overcomer is playing in my heart after listening to everything you shared tonight.) While I'm missing out on some things by choice, I'm digging in and strengthening my spiritual fighting position by praying and studying God's Word. I may be missing out on other things, but I'm abiding and focused on being "all in" with the hope that the Lord will continue illuminating His Word to me. Oh that everything would become shadows as I pant for and press toward the Lord. Thank you! 🙏☺️🙏

I think there is a gift in enjoying the trip to wherever your are going and make some stops along the way. Can your family let you have some of those stops on the way to Wherever? Can they learn to enjoy where they are? Those stops alone the way seem to make you happy. Maybe even bring you a little joy.
