Things To Do Outdoors in Atlanta | Arabia Mountain | Best Places To Hike In Georgia

- One of the best things to do outdoors in Atlanta is visiting Arabia Mountain. It is one of the best places to hike in Georgia because it is one of the most unique places in Georgia. The is so much history in this area and a beautiful, varying landscape. You can hike through rock outcroppings, do a lake loop trail, through the forest, and through a field. Each one more interesting than the last. There's also a wildlife center that rescues and rehabilitates injured native wild animals. It's a great day trip for the family if you're looking for things to do in Atlanta during covid.

I wish it would have let me leave a real comment! Did it give you money? I have no idea if that actually works!! Any way we wanted to support you!
Yeah it's in beta form now so hopefully they'll let you actually leave a real comment soon. Every time I've used the button on others channels that was my biggest complaint. It just now went through.
Thank you so much for supporting our Channel ❤
@@NickandRachel I didn’t know it was a thing until watching your video! Glad it worked!
I've only seen it on a few other outdoor channels. Hopefully It'll be rolling out soon for all creators.
Another one of our CZcams Friends actually told us to make that insert to let people know about it because most people have no clue that it even exists because it's so new. Thanks again 🙂

Nice reporting from a former news anchor! Good job!
Thanks for watching! We appreciate it
I felt like I was hiking with a good friend.👏
Have a nice day.😄
Well thank you 😊 glad you enjoyed it!
My parents met in Atlanta but every time we have visited, we stayed within the city
This is really cool to step outside the city and learn about the natural environment!
Very informative thanks for sharing!
Yes definitely pretty cool for the people who live in the city they don't have to drive far to go to that place. Glad you enjoyed the video 😀
Lol. Say it 9 times fast. 🤣🤣🤣 Those grapes would be a tasty trail treat. It's crazy how unprepared some people are on the trail. I agree; lots of extra water. Cool area. 👍 Nicely done.
Oh yeah muscadines are really good we really like finding them on trails! Blackberries as well. Thanks for watching 🙂
Very informative, awesome work 👍
Thanks ❤
Fascinating place and so informative. We enjoyed the watch!
Thank Guys really appreciate you coming along! Definitely pretty cool place if you're ever in the area check it out.
Class video guys, i would be in heaven hiking in that area 👌 good stuff guys, all the best Chris 👍
It's pretty cool for sure! Lots of awesome history in the area as well. It's crazy to think that Atlanta is just a few minutes down the road lol thanks for watching 🙂
That mountain almost looked post-apocalyptic. Loved it! Thanks for another great video.
That's exactly what we think every time we go there! Glad you enjoyed the video 😀
Wonderful Trip! The place is quite interesting !
Really cool looking landscape for sure! Thanks for watching 🙂
Nice trail. Thanks for all the extensive information. We love the same things. 👍New friends are here.😊😊

I enjoyed watching the video, especially the camera angles. Good Luck to Nick & Rachel.
Well thank you glad you enjoy it 🙂
Interesting. I love eating them muscadines. Some people don’t like them though!🤷🏻♀️ great video!👍
They have a really unique flavor for sure! We've grown up in the South so it was always a nice treat to find them growing in the wild in the summer. Thanks for watching 🙂
I really enjoyed watching here such a great hike you two fantastic time in the woods
Well Thank you 😊
Super! Interesting and beautiful 😍
Thanks for watching ❤
Awesome place and the history too.. Great video guyz
Definitely a lot of Rich history around the area! Thanks for watching ❤
Very interesting! Nice adventure!
Thanks for watching 🙂
Great information of an area I've never even considered hiking in!
Thanks for watching we appreciate it! It's definitely a cool spot to check out if you're already in Atlanta for sure!
Pretty interesting and informative video!!! Thanks for sharing! 😎👊🏾💯
Thanks for checking it out! We appreciate it 🙂
Found you for Tennessee stuff, and now I'm watching because my gf lives in western SC, so that leaves a lot of options for weekend hiking getaways! Thanks guys, you're awesome. It's going to be really fun to see where the channel can go once it picks up more steam.
Oh yeah a lot of the hike we do we're pretty close to South Carolina! Glad you enjoy our Channel 😁 hope we can share some new places with you guys!
Could see the heat haze in a few of your shots there. Us northern folk would be melting down there in your Georgia heat. Very cool with the endangered plants. We have similar issues up our way in the high altitude alpine zones. Takes a single footfall to kill a plant that can take 50-100 years to grow.
Unprepared hikers... oh boy... don't get us started. Every year we lose a couple people up in our wilderness areas, sometimes to accidents, but usually due to stupidity. Hiking in flip flops, not bringing enough water, or dying of exposure. Horrible stuff, usually preventable. People think because it's only a few hours drive from the city that it's somehow safe in these places, and it's not, especially if folks don't come prepared for the conditions.
Super happy you found us, always good to find another quality adventure channel to follow!
It was very hot that day I remember correctly it was a 100 degrees the humidity is what kills you though lol
Rachel is a 4-H agent and we make these videos to help raise awareness the people who may not know or just want to learn about the area around them. And hopefully have a newfound respect for nature when they're in it.
It is very sad we lose several hikers here year and like you said it could have been prevented.
Thank you for watching we really appreciate it!
Informative as always! Appreciated the references to being conscious of/protecting the plant life and hiking prepared 👍
It's a beautiful place and we just wanted to stay beautiful 🙂 glad you enjoyed the video! Have a great weekend 😀
Great views outdoor, enjoy!

Glad you enjoyed it! We really enjoyed learning about the areas we go to so we figured we would share that in the videos. Hope people like it lol Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing guys! living so close I didn't know about much about Arabia at all.
You're welcome glad you enjoyed it! If you live close by you should definitely check it out it's a pretty cool place! Thanks for watching 🙂
Great video. Very informative.😁😁😁
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Nice job guys! Ya 8 miles is no joke when hiking! Since getting into backpacking i don't think I'll ever go more than 3 or 4 miles without a water filter! So lightweight and potentially life saving!!
We just make it a habit now to keep it on us even if we're going for a mile walk in the woods. It's just good discipline to do that. Glad you guys enjoyed the video!
Thanks for sharing, looks like fun!
Thanks for watching ❤
Love your videos. So well done with great information. Thank you for sharing with us!

Well thank you I'm glad you enjoyed the video 😀
Tnx for sharing and keep vlogging
🙂
Really good point about not underestimating the distance and time it takes by foot! Love your videos :) Have been in Atlanta a few years back now and hope to visit again... a beautiful place :)
Yeah it can be pretty deceiving for most people who don't like a lot to judge The Distance by foot! If you ever find your way back to Georgia definitely visit North Georgia! Thanks for watching 🙂
👍👍
🙂
Always great finding the bits of nature outside cities that are within striking distance when you just need to get some fresh air. We're a few hours from Atlanta and may need to check these out!
It's definitely a good spot for the locals. If you do make the trip look up Panola mountain and Stone Mountain and stopping in those places and check them out. Thanks for watching 🙂
Great video and informative too!!!
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Very well, thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Excellent video great job guy's!!!
Thanks ❤

Very informative 😉

Great information on this very cool area! Muscadines grapes- your description 😆 we always have water hiking with kids & can't imagine hiking - or even walking a short trail in the July and August months without it.
It's definitely a very unique spot! Really doesn't look like it belongs here lol Thanks for watching!
@@NickandRachel definitely unique
Awesome video--new friend here
Thanks ❤
You guys always do a great job providing information on every adventure! thank you for sharing!

Another awesome video! I really like how informative your videos always are!
Hey if you're in the area check it out it's a pretty cool place! We try to keep it interesting 🙂 we really enjoy learning about the places we go so we figured we would share it with others. Thanks for watching 🙂
Looks nice. Love the history of the area. Hope y’all have a great weekend ❤️
Paw Paws have that same weird snot texture. They taste good but the texture is weird for people
I actually ended up almost out of water on a Desert hike. Brought two gallons but in the desert that is gone in just a few hours
Definitely a pretty cool spot! Thanks for watching 🙂
We definitely like trying new stuff like that!
Dang that would be scary!
👍🏻
🙂
I did a road trip two years ago from florida to new york and we stopped in Georgia, and I thought it was so beautiful there, although I didnt make it to this place. Awesome video, super adventure, I think you showed the area really well. New sub and friend. (:
Sounds like an awesome road trip! Georgia is a very beautiful state so much diverse scenery here. Well thank you I'm really glad you enjoyed it 😊
Nice video guys!
Thanks 🙂
That’s cool
Thanks for watching 🙂
Nice work! You put a lot of effort into the research and story. Cool place
Thanks ❤ Glad you enjoyed it
Really interesting how it was a quarry. Rachel is such a pro how she does these in long takes. I just cheat and do small clips and tie them together!! Seems like you had this place to yourself. Way to highlight the Thanks Button. Surprised more people aren’t doing it. I’m not brave enough to bite into random things in the woods. Crazy how people under estimate the trail and not bring water. You guys are nice.
It's crazy looking back when we first started how far we came! Love watching CZcamsrs older videos and see the differences.
It was almost a 100 degrees with no shade the most people weren't out hiking 🤣
Most people probably don't even know what that button is lol because it's not on every page yet.
Well if you ever make it to Georgia and we meet up we're going to have to find some things in the wild for you to eat 🤣
Thanks for watching 🙂
We were in Atlanta last week. Wish I'd found your channel earlier, lol. Love the little tidbits of information you provide along the trail. It gives context to the hike. Great job guys! Subbed. :)
Well maybe next time you're in the area you can check it out 😁 well I'm glad you enjoyed the video thank you for checking us out we appreciate it !
wonderful
🙂
Good video and nice information
Thanks ❤
wow I am a fan ..
Thanks for watching 🙂
nice

Love your adventures! We do them too!
Well thanks for checking it out!
Very impormative video. And I got an idea how to take video while hiking😅.I will try that on my nxt hiking video.Yeah keep dehydrated while hiking.Be extra careful.
Thanks a lot 😊
You need to make another trip there mid September or so when the mountain is covered in yellow daisy's. It's beautiful.
We've been there before and that time it's really pretty! My actually go back this year and see it again. Thanks for watching 🙂
i am "over preparing " the water always... :-) good training
Good practice to have! Thanks for watching
@@NickandRachel I had to help others many times .. with water, and sometines food as well
@@nuoutdoor haven't had to give food away yet. Water a bunch of times!
Ppl also don't take into consideration that panther creek trail is up hill all the way out easy to get down but you'll sweet coming out. (I think it's still closed)
Oh yeah it's pretty bad when it's a hundred degrees out for sure! The last time I checked it was closed
Haha, I guess wild grapes aren't as good as the store bought. But I guess in a survival situation it would be good to find those.
Actually the muscadines are delicious some people like them better than regular grapes. And some places you can actually find them in stores if you ever see them try them out they're really good!
But they do make a great Trailside snack 😋 Thanks for watching 🙂
@@NickandRachel I should buy them out if I ever see them.
@@Pixics definitely!
Very nice may I asked how far is this from Stone Mountain Park? My parents lives in Conyers so I will add this to Wife and I hiking list.
In light traffic is a 30 minute drive. Thank you for watching the video 🙂
@@NickandRachel with Atlanta area traffic
Yeah it's not too bad of a drive
:-)
🙂
Great video!
