Same, I love my quest 2 but use it pretty much exclusively connected to my pc. I don’t really care about the increased processing (Or honestly even the pass through even though it looks amazing) I just want a better display without spending a ridiculous amount of money.
I swear people don’t realize how groundbreaking the quest 3 is. We are so close to having a fully immersed wireless vr experience. The next decade of vr is going to be very exciting to see :)

If graphics is all you look at to see wether something is better or worse, than you should look elsewhere because never has Meta ever claimed to have high quality graphics on their headsets lol the graphics are more than good enough, the tracking is fantastic, the new lenses are great, the passthrough feature is awesome, the headset is smaller and twice as powerful than the Quest 2, etc….

I have a quest 3. The passthrough is more grainy than his video here. Also, he's in perfect lighting which you'll likely never have. Love the system. Just an FYI this is deceiving.
Yeah I paid for mine and I was just a tad disappointed with the pass though quality. But eventually I got used to is and found it to be very useful and I wasn’t so critical anymore. Anything marketed isn’t always gonna be the same when bought you just gotta have good lighting.
I just got mine today and its great. The passthrough looks amazing and the controllers practically weigh nothing. Just by moving around you can tell its much more powerful than the 2.

The snap dragon chip kinda useless since the did not incorporate it into the gamesthe links kinda bad and has some latency I have 5g internet so it can’t be my Wi-Fi and it’s not my pc and the thing graphics are not that good it really loses the immersion lot honestly the controllers are all that’s really the best and the hand tracking system isn’t that great but it’s good I don’t want to hate but I’m just saying facts from experience plz refund the headset if you can or wait till they update or fix the stuff plz just use pc vr I had the htc cosmos elite the controller was a touchpad A TOUCHPAD and it was better for vr plz if you are listening let the dust grow and wait update your headset when something good comes up for the headset

I got the Q3 2 days ago and its fantastic. Even against my Q2, its much better. The tracki g, the lenses, my god, the lenses alone are a game changer. The mixed reality is a great concept that i hope is supported long term.
I just purchased and tried out the Quest 3 for the first time, and it's incredible. I played a game called AnyRec that features simple yet diverse items. It incorporates Mixed Reality, blending AR and VR, which is fascinating. The Quest 3 is definitely impressive.

ii was reluctant to try the 3 as the 2 was okay but not a great experience. I was so taken back by the improvements i sprang for prescription lenses and what a difference! i can wear it for hours without any dizziness and i use passthrough and remote desktop for my work monitor. Games are very immersive and easier to play without getting motion sickness
Just ordered one and it arrives in 2 days. As someone who purchased the original Oculus Rift + Touch and experienced the original demo for the controllerless hand mode it feels so unreal on how far it's come!

I just got the quest 3 as my first vr headset. Honestly really cool but the pass through is only ok. You can't read your phone but you can see what's going on around you. It's reminds me of looking through the first iPhone camera. You can see but it's not detailed
Just figured I would add that the hands free mode is a feature on the quest 2 as well, and, at least for the quest 2, it’s not really a fully fleshed out feature. There’s quite a bit of applications that will force you to pick the controllers back up. Very few that I know of don’t do this-the one that comes to mind that does incorporate it is CZcams VR.
That’s the temptation eventually everyone gonna have one of these and people gonna be in class rooms with this over they head. But with this new technology coming out that will merge human consciousness with technology everything gonna be off the charts
@Grapevr999 Glitched? What do you mean? It works amazingly well. And when used on a pc it's one of the best vr headsets for steam games for the price. I have not had a single glitch. It just works out of the box.

It’s an improvement but I can live without it. It is much clearer and it’s noticeable and the AR features are cool however there’s not many things at this time to justify buying it right now. Probably best to hold off for some time unless you’re coming from a quest 1

Quest 2 is still an amazing piece of technology. This guy is making quest 2 seem out-dated. Infact, most of the games played on quest 3 are for the quest 2. The graphical upgrade from quest 2 to 3 is a lot, however, quest 2 will still blow peoples minds.
As someone with a quest 3 I'll give 3 pros and cons: pros good graphics comfortable grip setup only needs meta quest app and ofc a meta quest account. Cons controllers lag out if you hit a wall doesn't come with sweat barrier won't turn on sometimes
I'm pretty sure any controller lags when you hit a wall lol your shaking all the internals and the tracker losses signal for a second and the quest 2 literally absorbs your sweat lol this can't be that much worse but the not turning on sounds like you might have gotten a bad unit
@@Deivesonfiggysson It usually takes a day to turn back on. I'm just listing my pros and cons the controllers on my quest 2 when you hit a wall didn't lag out. There's a rubber ring that comes with the quest 2 that you put around the foam that keeps the sweat from absorbing into the foam though that piece was kind of annoying. It's happened to a lot of people so I'm just listing from my and others experience. I'm sorry if this offended you or anyone at all. I'm not trying to be offensive at all I'm just not to well with my grammar.
@Natalie-the-rat when I hit my quest 2 controllers I have to bring them all the way back In front of me for it to register, there also meant to lose signal if the controller leaves the view of the cameras on the headset so maybe you were swinging to far to the sides and I've heard of the rubber pieces for the quest but it doesn't come with it so I don't think you can really mention it as a pro or con no offense taken its just most of the cons are still cons of the older devices
When you interact with oculus menus, touching them like you do, ( *also done with controllers* ) physically, will activate a trigger click. As **NOT** said in the video, you *CAN* actually do this on the quest 2. It’s the v57 (or v56) Update.
This has always been possible in Quest 2 since they started adding hand tracking. The point here is the passthrough quality. It's leagues ahead of the Quest 2, better than the Quest Pro even. I do own it, and I will say it's not perfectly clear though, a bit grainy, but still way better than the Quest 2, and so is the hand tracking, thanks to the new depth sensor.
Damn, if this came out just a little bit earlier my thesis project (built on a Quest 2) would've looked way different. Funny downside about having no rings on the controller: you can't stack them neatly on your desk and it's less easy to calibrate the floor level (granted, the quest 3 should be able to do this automagically, but on the quest 2 side of things, the guardian API for Unity is a mess)
I'm certainly curious about the difference in clarity compared to the Quest 2 for PC VR. Gonna keep an eye on this.

Can confirm it's much better, not necessarily because of the AV1 codec support, but just the sheer resolution of the screen

we are a few years off. Quest 3 is an okay product but there are a lot of issues for PCVR.
We are a ways off. From what I've seen, the graphics don't look like that significant of an upgrade from the Quest 2.

@@Deivesonfiggysson It usually takes a day to turn back on. I'm just listing my pros and cons the controllers on my quest 2 when you hit a wall didn't lag out. There's a rubber ring that comes with the quest 2 that you put around the foam that keeps the sweat from absorbing into the foam though that piece was kind of annoying. It's happened to a lot of people so I'm just listing from my and others experience. I'm sorry if this offended you or anyone at all. I'm not trying to be offensive at all I'm just not to well with my grammar.
@Natalie-the-rat when I hit my quest 2 controllers I have to bring them all the way back In front of me for it to register, there also meant to lose signal if the controller leaves the view of the cameras on the headset so maybe you were swinging to far to the sides and I've heard of the rubber pieces for the quest but it doesn't come with it so I don't think you can really mention it as a pro or con no offense taken its just most of the cons are still cons of the older devices

When you interact with oculus menus, touching them like you do, ( *also done with controllers* ) physically, will activate a trigger click. As **NOT** said in the video, you *CAN* actually do this on the quest 2. It’s the v57 (or v56) Update.
This has always been possible in Quest 2 since they started adding hand tracking. The point here is the passthrough quality. It's leagues ahead of the Quest 2, better than the Quest Pro even. I do own it, and I will say it's not perfectly clear though, a bit grainy, but still way better than the Quest 2, and so is the hand tracking, thanks to the new depth sensor.

Damn, if this came out just a little bit earlier my thesis project (built on a Quest 2) would've looked way different. Funny downside about having no rings on the controller: you can't stack them neatly on your desk and it's less easy to calibrate the floor level (granted, the quest 3 should be able to do this automagically, but on the quest 2 side of things, the guardian API for Unity is a mess)
