Wow I was going through this channel watching all the videos and was NOT expecting my people to be included in this channel. I always thought northern natives wouldn't consider us Mexicans as native americans but there are lots of northern natives who do acknowledge us as native Americans. Thank you for this video and this channel. Love & Peace to my Raza from the north to the south

@paul reboca Either way, you have to understand one thing... My Mexica ancestors were heartless bastards to those that didn't conform but we were all so damn much more similar than the white man.. I would have accepted warring nations for centuries till we found that unity instead of Spanish rule.. The Japanese had warring nations for centuries and found unity under one banner. Was it fair or great? no to some and yes to others. But it damn sure wasn't because of white euro rule..

It's all human nature people warring with each other. The Asians fought each other the Chinese and Japanese and Tibet. The English with the Irish. Ww2 Germans Jews and Russians. The wars in Africa like the rowandan holicost. Even in America you had Aztecs and other tribe same in the U.S. territories like the beaver wars native tribes fighting. It's human nature there's bound to be conflict with any groups. Whether we fight for resources, beliefs, or anything else it's all human. Also the Aztecs and the mayan did do human sacrifice but it was their own beliefs I'm not saying it's right in any way but try to view it from our point of view they believed they had to do offerings to their gods because in our creation story the gods sacrificed themselves to become the moon and sun to give us life. So in turn we gave offerings to keep them alive so the sun can raise again. And contrerty to popular belief it was mostly blood leading puncturing themselves either foreskin, nose, ear, to offer blood. Only on special occasions did they sacrifice people.

First of all, some of you people need to realize that being Mexican is NOT a race, it's a nationality. Second, most Mexicans are of indigenous blood. There are more indigenous people in Mexico (full and half blood) than in the US and Canada combined.
    US - Indigenous 0.9% Part Indigenous 0.7%
    Canada - Indigenous 1.8% Part Indigenous 3.6%
    Mexico - Indigenous 12.8% Part Indigenous 75%

I'm German-English and don't give two shits whether people think it's appropriate for me to be fascinated with Prehispanic culture. Who cares what your blood or nationality is? It's okay to be so engrossed by a culture that you want to adopt parts of it into your life. People don't have to CLAIM to be anything. We're all human, and that's what ties us all together in the end.

Thanks for including us. Too much division in our native bloodline. My family is from Cananea, Sonora where our ancestors' tribes extended on both sides of the border. Mexico has so much rich indigenous ancestry. It is literally seen everywhere. Nahuatl, the language of the Mexicatls, AKA Mexicans/Aztecs, is the second most widely spoken language in Mexico! Even modern Mexican Spanish dialect is full of indigenous words: Chocolatl (chocolate), cacahuatl (peanut), popote (straw), esquintli,(child). I'm glad to know some indigenous language, and I hope to one day be fluent in Nahuatl. It's funny because I look Native American, and people regularly ask me why I look Native American but am "Mexican." Pure ignorance. Nonetheless, I have been able to find a home at the local pow wows in Southern California and have really learned to embrace my native heritage. I love traveling to Mexico too and meeting people from different tribes. Being Native American in Mexico is so common. You hear the dialects in public. You see the people. Not like here in the U.S where people don't expect to meet a Native American because they think we are all extinct. Thank you for opening your home to us. :)

    1. they are Meshika not Aztec. 2. they are in North America and not South America. Mexico is part of North America. 3. no. They couldnt wipe out all the customs or languages. Surrounding tribes and ppl took on the name of the Aztec and adopted some of their ways specifically warfare to fight off the europeans. it is why some of it survived to this day.

Well as far as #1 let them call us aztec. I mean we dont always call tribes by their real name, not because we dont want to or cant but because we just simply dont know

well, modern Mexicans almost all have some European heritage along with Native, and both elements are significant.
As I understand "hispanic" is the word to name anyone who speak Spanish as first language or who is from Spanish-speaking country, not more

That’s the point of colonization to strip away they’re ancestor’s identity and replace it with something just cuz they do doesn’t take away they still have they’re native ancestors blood tooI don’t see nothing wrong with reconnecting to their original roots

I'll respect their culture as ours, cause like any normal human, I'll respect their culture and music. Hate me all you like but you'll imply all that hate like "America" has...so yeah...have it. I don't want it. Yuck
I'll accept all cultures into my life and welcome it with good, and warmth health. Come my brothers and sisters. No hate here. :3

aztecs where not bred out of existence. Their descendents live on in the nahua people of central mexico. The nahua people are also made up of other nahuatl speaking people who shared a similar culture and similar traditions as the mexica. The majority of the nahua people are pure native. so what if these people have euro blood, many natives in the US are mixed too especially east of the mississippi.

Mexico is mostly Native people. We won we don't celebrate ths Spanish way we celebrate the Mexican way the original way not perfect but better than rejecting our ancestors ways. We may not all be 100% or 50% Native American but we are of this land and our culture teaches us amar a Mexico y nuestra cultura maravillosa no nos ganan nadien.

Better to connect to their real originality the main goal of colonization was to strip away their real identity, they’re indigenous ancestry, which they still carry I don’t see nothing wrong with trying to reconnect to their original roots
