We didnât have a ring so we went to the arcade and got a plastic one for 20 tickets.
We used it at the ceremony.
I just recently got into jewelry making and my friend recently got married and both he and his wife now wears 24k yellow gold (round cross section) wedding band made by me.
My father wears a 24k gold (domed) wedding band also made by me.
I'm no professional but making rings that people wear as a symbol of their love and commitment to eachother .... it's just very satisfying... oddly satisfying...
even for the wearer ... even he/she knows that what they r wearing is not a mass manufactured stuff off a lifeless corporation's shelf. It has been personally made just for them by someone by hand.
This video came too late for my wedding, but the plain white gold band worked out pretty well for me. Especially since it was made by my mother-in-law's friends who are jewelers!

I'm really glad you made this video! The ring you have on is exactly what I have in mind as well. I appreciate the in depth look at the profile of the rings as a lot of us guys wouldn't think or know to consider those characteristics of the different profiles for everyday wear.
I am curious though, how well it's held up since this video was uploaded. Do you feel it scratched up and dulled quickly? Do you know what other alloy it's mixed with? I've been researching and apparently some platinum rings are mixed with softer metals than others.

I work in a pawn shop and I tell people all the time that we'd rather you go to the competition than to go to Kay's or Jared's. Your money will go much further. Stuff at pawn shops - if they're reputable - have jewelry cleaned and polished to look brand new and cost a fraction of the price!

I am a widow who has always loved rings, & I have a traditional 14k yellow wedding set (.66tcw) which I take good care of, & various yellow & rose gold, & silver bands which I wear in place of my diamonds. But I also want to take good care of them, too. So I have a small collection of stainless steel & and 3 tungsten rings which I am waiting for. They are ionically plated with various colors of gold. For when I am doing serious grocery shopping, food prep, laundry, etc. I was wondering about silicone, for when I am doing my man friend's stacked up dishes, etc. I appreciate your opinion of silicone rings, bc they did not sound too appealing, but I can see a place for them when I do really serious work. So I think I will pick up on one. I do like comfort fit domed rings. Different widths. Thank you again!!

I got a sterling silver wedding ring looks great still after 5 years
I proposed to my hubby first actually. On the beach in Cayocus
His is an alternate tungsten band, deep slate grey, craved edge and an engraving on the inside of the band, it reads âfor all eternityâ in a lovely old English script.
Iâm very particular and artsy so I wouldnât stand for something so plain for the character that is my hubby. He loves it- he noted that it was a perfect fit (I remembered his size from over a year prior lol)
Babe picked out a damascus ring with a brass stripe and redwood liner. I picked out a pale mint green resin ring with copper flake cast it in. We both bought one another rings we picked! I also picked him up a stainless band for when he doesn't want to wear something fancy. My fancy ring is sterling with opal and obsidian.

I'm in the UK and need to get sized for a comfort fit ring I am buying from the US. Its a 6mm band and I was wondering if I should adjust my size for the comfort fit? I have read somewhere that for 6mm you should just order your regular size but for 8mm and above you should go a half size down but I wasnt sure if that is correct or if the half size is talking in US or UK terms.
I got a 14 kt gold domed wedding band.Its simple and beautiful. I think if you get gold and it looks like you have worn it for years don't look like you trying to impress people.

Hey so I got a 3.6mm gold band from Cartier. People online were kind of poking fun saying itâs a womenâs ring. I thought a 4ishmm gold band is pretty unisex. What is your expert opinion? Is the Cartier love wedding band ok for men? I have 28 days to return so not heartbreaking if I need to return.

Does it really take 10-15 years for the rhodium to fade/rub off from a rhodium-plated white gold ring? I just recently read that they usually need re-plating after only 12-18 months. I really want to understand this, because I just spent nearly all day looking for the right ring for my fiancĂ© since the one we found that he likes a lot isnât made with platinum, and we donât want to have to re-plate it every 1-2 years. In England ct is used in stead of k. Personally I just get a standard 9ct or 18ct ring I'm not really fussed at all.
Also, there is no such thing as "pure". 24ct is "fine" not "pure".

Is this normal? I do have a wedding band that I wear and if I do decide to go with a silicon replacement for work, should I get the exact size?

Platinum is harder than gold, so it will be more resistant to dents, although it will fade over time like all metals.

Me and my wife just got our rings from Zales today. We both donât like our rings and want bigger rings in width. Mines is like 3 mm and it does look feminine. I donât like that at all. Yellow gold always is yellow. White gold is also a dull yellow (albeit much lighter). However, white gold is plated with rhodium but that will fade and the dull yellow will show. The yellow gold is not plated with anything so it always looks the same

Certainly. That's been a very common option for men's rings - and women's too, of course - for many years. You should be able to go to most online vendors and use "two-tone" as an option in selecting the metals you are seeking. Or, in selecting the style, if its not listed in metals. That's a great way to make sure you coordinate your jewelry choices.
Although, if you think of it in terms of your wedding band not being just "everyday jewelry" but a special piece with a particular meaning, it's doubtful that most people would expect you to match it to absolutely everything you wear.đ
