I really appreciate Sidgewick's point of view when he basically says "this is why I don't like this product". But when it dips into "this is why YOU shouldn't like this product" it just starts to make less sense to me.
It felt a lil toxic for Sidg to say Hamflett's legitimate enjoyment was disingenuous and just about bullying him.
@@RebelCauseFilms He does it all the time especially since WWE has been better. Idk how Wilborn and Hamflett just sit there as he talks down to them as if what they enjoy is lesser. Even when he criticizes Aew you can tell he holds back but, when it comes to WWE it’s toxic how he acts Iike Trips and WWE do something to him personally.

Huh! That's an interesting way to frame it. That makes sense.. I don't have a problem with sidge dumping on the product to a point, in fact I quite enjoy it. But once you veer into the party pooper role, the fun gets sucked out of the exercise. Though, to be fair, these two can play up their enjoyment for fun. But still. Same effect.
Siege trying to TELL us why we shouldn't like WWE just sounds like Tony Khan white noise now. Just skip ahead about 2 minutes whenever he gets in his AEW feelings and the podcast is alot smoother 🤷🏿♂️

The only tedious thing about this was Sidge struggling to explain why he's right in that drawn out thought exercise whiched served no purpose.

I'm always so hesitant to watch these podcasts when Sidg is on. He's so negative about WWE. Can Sidg just do the AEW reviews and let wilbourn and Hamflett do the WWE reviews!

@@jamesroche8785 4 out of 10 matches lived up to AEW's reputation for quality matches (International, TBS, Women's & Trios). Anarchy in the Arena matches are just schmozzes, Swerve was done a disservice by having a midcard feud for his first title defense, and the rest of the matches were mid and badly booked. I love Orange Cassidy but his match, the cage match that proved WWE was right to limit Copeland's risk taking, the FTW Rules match, and the weird IWGP title eliminator had no business on PPV. PPVs have no business being five hours.
@@RebelCauseFilmsdouble or nothing just felt long and dragged tbh I enjoyed a lot of the matches but my main issue with aew is moves mean nothing a lot of selling isn't there and people kick out of God damn everything I don't even pop for a kick out after 1 finisher watching anymore I pop when someone wins off of 1 finish
One thing, they really need to use the long tracking shot a little less. It is very cool and all, but if it happens every week very soon it won’t be special at all. Take a week or two off with it here and there.

They just need to take Sidge off of covering all things WWE he is bias and hate watches it at this point. He bullies ppl who dare enjoy WWE we get it you don’t like the product. Don’t sit there tell someone what they should and shouldn’t enjoy. Guys like sidges is what is wrong with the IWC. An it’s obvious ever since WWE has turn things around and Aew is no longer always praised incessantly. He has little hissy fits on WWE pods always repeating the same thing “how is this company white hot?”.
I really wanted to listen to the whole podcast, but I'm 10 minutes in and I already can't stand Sidge. He is a complete buzzkill. He makes me feel kinda bad for enjoying a product, and it shouldn't be like this. I'm off searching for something else, this podcast ain't for me.

Reason I get annoyed with sidge is he complains about kiss segment like it's sexist. that's really not the story it's Liv that kissed Dom as part of a revenge story, she wants to take everything from rhea she isn't trying to seduce Dom because she wants him, it's all part of stripping rhea of everything and if she gets Dom on board it gives her a edge wether it's the distraction wether it just annoys rhea anything. but this is terrible according to sidge but the idea tony khan drives a wrestler to stadium with a flamethrower is awesome, so we now know in aew boss is ok with murder why wouldn't everyone just arrive with machine guns? this bias just puts me off even when his criticism is fair i dont want to listen because I know he's being disingenuous.
Normally I enjoy his haterism but this felt like personal frustrations boiling over and it was not entertainment at all

I love Sidge, but he constantly talks about cage matches not using the cage as a weapon … they might have used it a bit much in this match obviously and the match was boring but I figured he would at least say they used it as a weapon which was good haha. I think he’s just in a super bad mood today.
To your point? The action was pretty awful, but the story building was pretty great. I like the idea of Liv being one of Rhea's first opponents when she comes back. I did however hate to learn that they got Dom to kiss Liv on nationwide syndicated television. I think the Alpha Academy stuff is turning into a pretty great story for Sami... I didn't like the Drew angle... but that's pretty on par with his current run as a heel... I get "what about Raven" vibes from WCW from it.
It was actually Liv kissing Dom and to me it didn’t look like he was kissing her back and looked confused and or disgusted by it
Good because those stories always end up being pretty terrible. I just remember when Liv was kayfabe into Rhea. So her.getting destroyed by Rhea once Mami is back is pretty full circle being closed... so that's where I like it. It'd just tacky to have someone who just got married to get kissed by someone else... it's shades of "stef. Dating multiple superstars kayfabe " when she had already been discreetly dating Hunter IRL.
I thought this episode was great, the show really does need to go back to 2 hours though
I did not enjoy raw, I agree all the components where there for later on, which is good, but the show is lacking. Tbh I'm not a fan of Liv, she seems like a lovely lady, but prove they need a female mid card title, all I think when I see her wrestle is, when's Rhea back
Liv’s revenge quest is complete. First, she makes Rhea Ripley injured like she injured Liv. Rhea Ripley forced herself to give up her Women World Championship because of her injury. Then she won Women World Championship from Becky Lynch, and now she steals Dom and kisses him. Revenge is sweet.
Can we set a 1 minute timer on siedgewick once he goes on his rants so not too many people change the podcasts? Maybe 1 minute doses of extreme bias and hate would be more palatable than him just ranting over every topic everytime 🤦🏿♂️ smh

For once Sidgewick is spot on about the main event. The Liv storyline is crap and not a main event worthy programme. I don’t get the charisma some people are referring to. Her promos and matches are not up to the level of the actual top women at the moment.
He’s spot on about 99.8% of the time. 👌🏻
