I've got a 3.6 2010 L322. It's been great. Done 145k miles now, over 100k of them with me. A keeper. Still drives the same as when I bought it.
Such a lot of car for the money. Glad you saved it.
Glad you sorted it and sounds sweet , even though you have spent all that money you still get a lot of car for the money and a great looking car at that inside and out.
Done well all in all.
The 4.4 tdv8 is definitely the better of the two v8 diesels despite having a DPF. Blank the EGRs in the 3.6 and remap it with a decent map and it will fly and breathe cleaner. Also fit a back box delete and it will sound superb.
If you follow LR Time from Germany they have many videos about the problems and solutions and the fix to the engine so it doesn’t fail.
great video, glad it all worked out
Well done it just shows if you hunt around it can be done the other way is have the engine reconditioned . but have you have come out proud , thanks for the video
Short story . Had a 4.4 v8 2015 diesel for years cost 3-5 k a year in odd repairs and maintenance you don’t math.
This is a great approach...what a car for a 6k outlay...brilliant
Well done, good decision, enjoy.
That is a bargain, as its a facelift, with new/re con turbos. good work :)
How much is a rebuild on that engine? It’s gotta be less than that
You should mention the fellows who did the remove and replace on the engine. It looks like they did a great job at a bargain price. I am sure people in the UK would love to do business with them.
Which garage did the engine swap for you? I have a 3.6tdv8 on 135k and I'm expecting to embark on this anytime. My father had one exactly the same and blew the turbos. He had so much trouble finding someone who was willing and available to do the work he ended up scrapping the car.
Next time try MID Engineering in Wantage, Oxfordshire.
Still worth every penny
Change all fluids including both gearboxes.
Looks good. Hopefully it doesn’t leave you on the side of the road again.
Blank your egrs there what takes the turbos
