- During the college basketball game between Villanova and Temple, Temple fans stormed the court after they had believed the game was over. However, Villanova had committed a foul with 0.2 seconds remaining which meant Temple had to shoot free throws. The thousands of fans had to be cleared off the court before the game could conclude. Temple made the two free throws and defeated Villanova 68-64. The fans then stormed the court a second time to celebrate Temple's first win over Villanova since 2012.

The announcer was ready to go home 💀
Bro had money on Villanova to cover spread
I was there on Friday for running at special Olympics at Villanova
That is bull crap it was not a fuler
I Love announcers that say what the fans are thinking
😆😆😆
Something about the fans getting themselves off the court, waiting patiently at the edges for time to expire, and then bum-rushing the court again in (mostly) orderly fashion just makes me smile, for some reason.
organized chaos haha
Fans get to brag that they not only stormed the court, they stormed the court TWICE.
Lmao if this put a smile on your face go watch the ending of Texas vs Texas Tech in 2008
Another funny part about this was that Villanova called a timeout after the last Temple free throw, which made this drag on even longer lmao
I guess the hope is to plan out a play where they shoot a hail mary and get fouled to tie. But the odds of a rogue temple player existing to foul the shot must be the lowest odds ever.
The Philly 5 rivalries are so great to watch
It's called the Big 5.
What is the Philly 5
For some odd reason I was always under some assumption that Temple was in Arizona. I blame it on confusing it for Tempe.
I watched this live lol. The Villanova coach did that timeout just to piss everyone off 😅
if it was a timeout, why did Temple shoot free throws?
@@triathlontimmy it was a timeout after the last two free throws when it was a 4 poit game with .2 left
@@DaWalk-X Coach's gotta coach.
I was at a high school game where the stormed the court with 1 second left in a 35 point blowout and they made us play the final second. It context it was out first playoff win in 7 years and we were at home.
Refs must of have had +34.5
@@micahhord4032 must have 😂
And with that, we have our first ranked upset
Should’ve happened with UAPB TCU on opening night 😭
Wow. Definitely one I'll tell my grandkids about....
@@kayceeyou of the season…
@@kayceeyou you seem mad lol
Well here in the Philly area this will definitely be talked about for a while.
Reminds me of the Utah-BYU football game in 2012. Utah fans stormed the field 3 times!
Does that mean temple gets fined twice for letting fans storm the arena?
I'm not sure if the AAC has fines or not
Fined?
@@jonnybaze7449 Some conferences, most notably the SEC, fine schools if fans enter the playing area. Of the power conferences, only the ACC and Big Ten don't (and the ACC probably doesn't just to appease Clemson).
@@daveporter0217 that’s ridiculous
@@jonnybaze7449 unless you’ve been crushed in one of these
Court storms and field storm make me smile
Put some respect on this Temple squad! Making waves this year
That an huge win for Temple against the kings of Philadelphia college basketball in Villanova
Temple will start a new Philly dynasty under McKie, Jay Wright is gone and so is his coaching expertise.
Temple was dethroned by Villanova. Hopefully Temple takes it back but that’s a tall order
The announcer said this was the dumbest thing we could possibly be doing at 1:50. I disagree. The dumbest thing is calling a Tech foul on the crowd which the refs can and actually have done in the past..
I'm kind of surprised they didn't.
Classless by Nova to flop at @0:27 at the baseline. Glad Temple won!
Nova always flops so much. The rule changed this year and a technical is now called when someone flops
ummmmmmmmmmmmm ok
I was at the game too with the marching band
Screen graphic during court storming...
1st time said,
"First win vs. Villanova since 2012"
2nd time *should've* said,
"First win vs. Villanova since 0.2 seconds ago"
The NCAA: ohhhhh let’s fine them twice 🎉 yeahhh us!!
Fines are levied by conferences.
Graduated Temple in 2016 and I couldn’t be happier this morning! I love the Big5 and hate Villanova! And it’s been a rough few years since Dunphy left and McKie took over. That said as talented as temple looks they also played terrible in their season opener and were beat in overtime by an underdog Wagner team. Winning against a top 25 Villanova team the second game of the year is definitely going to be a résumé win come March ,but unless Wagner wins their conference that loss is going to be a bad loss on the résumé as well. So if Temple wants to think about the NCAA tournament for the first time in the McKie era they needed to win last night and they did. Go owls!
Can't believe they sent the Villanova players out for that last 0.2 seconds. If I were one of them, I'd just be making a hasty exit before the crowd swallows me.
ref: actually i had over 131
It was like filming “Hoosiers.” _Cut! Let’s do take 2. Places everyone._
Imagine that last shot went in with foul
i no problem with a Temple win. Referees showed restraint by not assessing a technical for fans on court during the game
Villanova +3 bettors are in shambles rn
Where is full game highlights? It's ridiculous not to show this game!
Hold up does this mean temple is back?👀
So, we have our first ranked team lost this season
Horn never sounded the first time.
This is hysterical.
Only in college basketball.
Stuff like this makes me feel in love with this sport
Bro they legit do this in college football all the time
@@Xxxx-pb4fe it doesn’t happen as often tho, this happens every year, however the big dogs in football don’t lose as much
@@thund3r94 well it’s done less because it actually means something when a team losses a regular season football game it matters a team can lose every game but if they win the conference tournament they in the playoffs in basketball
Bro at 0:52 had crazy bounce wtf? 😂🤔
Yeah I was there, later on he started holding onto the rim to the applause of fans 🤣🤣
Arcidiacono
gives it to jenkins
for the championship!!
On the bright side at least they got a better court storming animation the second time 😂
Big east please invite Temple and Memphis
It's amazing what an AP poll does to fans. Put a little number next to the name and it's the greatest win ever.
Well, Villanova is a great basketball program that Temple hadn't beaten in 10 years, and that would be true whether there was a number there or not
And it's an intracity rivalry
Huh?
It’s a rivalry game…
Temples court looks like it’s from 2002 lol
When are college basketball teams going to provide quality highlights to the entire game?
how long has Arcidiacono been at villanova?
Good for them. They haven't had much to celebrate about recently.
0:26 shpuldnt Arcidiacono have graduated 2 years ago in 2020?
So... does this count as TWO court-stormings?

This will be a freaking story FOREVER!!! 😂😂😂😂 This will probably never happen again for the next 100 million years 😂😂😂
How was it not over the first time
Gah how dare they clear the court so that they can finish the game. The sheer audacity. I say that they should’ve ended the game much earlier when temple took the lead. Maybe in the first half even. Can’t believe this atrocity
Legend has it that in two days the ref will rule there was too much oxygen on the court and they will have to all go back to the court and redo the final 0.00069 seconds
Makes me think of Texas tech for some reason 🤔
they can’t beat them with jay wright coaching though 😂
Jay Wright is gone and not coming back, cry all you want

You gonna post about your south Florida team taking it to Auburn in the first half?
Nah cuz Auburn is gonna win 😢
@@pschighlights yeah… 😢
@@pschighlights No hard feelings, ya'll played really well. Auburn Arena has become a nightmare for visiting teams since 2017-18. We've only lost 9 times at home since then, and 5 of those were during COVID (2020-21). The fact that you guys gave us that much trouble hopefully bodes well for the rest of your season.
@@crazydude5825 yea I hope so. But then again we lost against Southeast Missouri State last game so I still don’t feel very optimistic about our season lol.
Do they get fined twice for this???
first (respectfully)
There was a foul. You have to do it again.
@@RS-cd8dx wdym?
They should've torn down the rim like Tennessee Vols football fans did the goalposts

Would have been hilarious if Villanova somehow managed to win after the initial court storming
Norway beat France?
Does this mean they'll get two fines for court storming instead of one?🤔🤔
I'm not sure if the AAC fines teams or not
against all the philly colleges, nova is 32-1
storming the court is childish
Can't stand Villanova good for Temple winning.
Amazing

I watch this live
Twice? Temple gotta chill
Are they in same conference? Isnt one AAC and BigEast? Or do they have a yearly game?
Temple is American, Villanova is Big East. But they do play each other as part of the unofficial "Philadelphia Big 5" along with St. Joseph's, La Salle and Penn.
@@stanistevens so the B5 all play each other?

It wasn't that dumb tbh.
"We've got 4,000 people on the court." Uhhh, no. Maybe 300. Calm down, announcer dude.
It was hyperbolic…
Tennessee does one big thing and now everyone is doing it.
Storming the court isn’t a new thing….. it’s because it’s a historic rivalry temple hadn’t won in a DECADE
Everyone running with their stupid cell phones out.

The refs blew this one. Since the game was not over, Temple should have received a delay of game administrative technical foul for their fans storming the court. After the free throws by Temple, Nova should have received one free throw and the ball. Now it probably would not have mattered because Nova would have needed an improbable 3 point tap-in to send it to OT but still, the rules are rules.
Don't believe me? There has been an instance where storming the court cost a team the game. St. Bonaventure made a late 3 to go up by one against VCU and the fans promptly stormed the court. The problem? There were still 0.4 seconds left on the clock, so since the game was not yet over the Bonnies were T'd up. VCU made the free throw to tie the game and went on to win in OT.

And
Wow
Winning every game you are not expected to win is like winning the super bowl nowadays to storm the court.

That’s gotta be season over for Villanova, right?
I wouldn’t say that. They didn’t have whitmore and it’s enough time to turn the season around and go on a run. But this is a great quality win for temple
Refs helped temple that foul bs bro 🤣
Refs were pullin for nova all game jawn🤣🤣

This is stupid I totally agree with the commentator
Should be illegal to wear two Dark colored uniforms. With the horrible quality they look the same. Bland and maroon. One team should be white Every game.
I mean that’s a technical foul by rule. Villanova should’ve got 2 shots and ball. Not like it would’ve mattered. Lol.
Know the rules before you comment.
Yes, it should have been a technical (there's no doubt the fans delayed the game.)
Sadly for Villanova, administrative technical fouls are only one shot, so (in retrospect) it wouldn't have mattered.
Storm the court, get zapped by the cops. No security here. This is a stampede. Every entitled kid on the court should be jailed and have this semester’s credits cancelled

They act as if the “student athletes” on the court care at all about random kids on campus. They are there for the freebie education in joke fields like being a PE teacher or talent scout.
