Will CO2 TIG?

Always wondered if and how will CO2 work with TIG welding.
Not as a suitable gas but like in an emergency situation.
Have welded some steel with Mison Argon CO2 mix and it worked ok ish. Could get the job done that needed to be done.
So how does pure CO2 do on TIG?

Well my guess would be that CO2 can be reduced to CO and you don't want to be breathing CO as it compromises functionality of hemoglobin.
I would also guess that using a gas that can oxidize hot metal is likely not ideal for TIG welding.

That's TAG, not TIG!
Hardcore emergency welders use exhaust fumes from a car for shielding gas😂

That is true, its not inert gas so yes TAG would be the proper term.
