EU Report Can't Delegitimise Tinubu Says Keyamo+ Anambra Student Denies Forgery Allegations| OjyOkpe

- The European Union Observer Mission report on the 2023 general elections, which was rejected by the Federal Government of Nigeria, continues to generate reactions on social media
The EU observer Mission in its report stated that the election exposed enduring systemic weaknesses and therefore signal a need for further legal and operational reforms to enhance transparency, inclusiveness, and accountability, further stating that trust in the Independent National Electoral Commission had been severely damaged especially as a result of the failure to upload the result of the presidential election electronically.
On Monday, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Festus Keyamo, in a post on twitter stated that there is no election worldwide without irregularities and that the EU report cannot delegitimize the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Keyamo came under fire after some social media users pulled up page 92 of the EU mission report highlighting misinformation during the general election and Keyamo’s tweet in which he alleged by posting a link of a report claiming that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party Peter Obi had paid two Billion Naira to Christian Bodies as Bribe.
In another development, Ejikeme Mmesoma a student from Anambra State, who was accused of forging her Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination result on Monday in a video message dismissed the allegations.
Mmesoma, a student of Anglican Girls Secondary School in Nnewi,
had been celebrated as the highest scorer in this year’s UTME with a total score of 362, but on Sunday, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board stated that the student was not the top scorer and only scored a total of 249 and not 362 as claimed.
The board said the student allegedly manipulated her result to deceive the public to fraudulently obtain a scholarship and other recognitions.
JAMB also vowed to prosecute the student and others that allegedly manipulated their results.
In her video message, Mmesoma said that she is incapable of forging her own result, and that she had printed the said result from the JAMB portal and that the allegation has left her traumatised.
The Iyalode of Lagos, Bintu Fatima Tinubu celebrated her 80th birthday in Lagos on Sunday at the Eko Hotel and Suites, where her family, friends, and well-wishers, joined in commemorating the remarkable milestone.

About Dr Abatti. I feel that there are either some persons after him or that he is somewhat compromised and now interested in what he could gain from the administration. He never gives his opinion, he rather repeats the story without objective. He sounds more like a politician with interest than a journalist.
My worry is that, he is a great figure in this industry and a voice that would have made a great difference to the common Nigerian. But he has lost his voice somehow. 😢

What about the remaining 31%?Are they mathematically correct? If,69% of IREV are mathematically incorrect; can it render the whole presidential election results invalid ?No,it cannot.After all IREV is not the determinant source of Election results; the Election results can be obtained from manually collated Results through EcA forms transmitted to the INEC chairman by state Returning officers as INEC did in the 2023 presidential election results within the spirit of the Electoral Act,2022.According to INEC Guidelines, Election results shall be transmitted Electronically where it is practicable. According to INEC star witness who is in charge of ICT ,presidential election results has not been transmitted electronically through IREv due to glitches. It means it has not been practicable to transmit the 2023 presidential election Results electronically through IREv. Even though the INEC witness admitted that they tested the system and found it workable before the election, it cannot obviate the possibility of technical glitches when the election is taking place.
Note:even if there was no technical glitches and INEC collated results manually in violation of it's Guidelines (Rules of procedure), it still remain an irregularity of noncompliance. It is trite Law (settled position of the Law)that an irregularity can only affect the declared Results if it is substantial.According to Interpretation Act,an irregularity is substantial if it confers additional advantage to one of the parties. So,it has to be proved that non transmission of 2023 presidential election results has confered additional votes to the declared winner (Tinubu)through manipulations. The petitioners have not been able to proved that INEC manipulated 2023 presidential election results in favor of Tinubu;hence their cases have to fall like a card house. You understand?
