Tawni & Wayne fell in love while camping and knew they wanted to create a space that felt as special as their camping memories, but a little more luxurious. Their dome features a bedroom with stunning views of the mountains outside, a fireplace, and a mini kitchen, but the inside of this dome isn't the only thing that's spectacular! This is beautiful the view is amazing. But hope it’s bear proof. I am from the mountains of Tennessee and as I was watching I could imagine laying there in bed and a bear walking up looking through the window 😂
Haha thankfully in the almost two years that we lived up here we never had any bear sightings! Neither have any of our neighbors.
Honestly the geodesic portions are stronger than a typical wall because of the way they distribute the force, so I'd say they'd do well enough to deter the bears.

It’s beautiful! My questions are security. From break ins and large animals like bears. And Sasquatch 😂. How is it insured? Do insurance companies insure these kinds of dwellings? What about wind and snow sitting on top? I know you’re in NC. I wonder if this would work in colder areas.
Insurance was definitely a difficult one! We were able to get insured through State Farm because we did have a CO from the county that we could provide them. We also have security cameras around the perimeters which are additional safety measures for intruders and would alert us to bears 😮
It is all gorgeouse along with the views beautifuly designed , id love to wake up in that bedroom, Epic bathouse so practicle and pretty I could deffinantly live here. and what a lovley couple I wish them all the best now and the future . Ontario canada

Great dome home and property, I had a feeling it was a Pacific Dome Home! This is quite similar to how I have been planning to set up a dome home along with a small a-frame cabin on some acreage...once I find the right land space. I wouldn't mind staying at this Airbnb next time I visit NC! Similar background, just solo and getting ready to sell my house in Salt Lake City and finding some land! Thank you for the inspiration!

It’s the only home we own that’s on land. So you can believe what you want, but it’s definitely a special place to us and our family

Hi the dome struts are a heavy duty galvanized steel which is wind proof up to 150 mph! The cover is the weaker spot but is grommets down with tons of grommets to the deck

Most Animals, Don’t like mirrors, maybe that could help folk that LOVE living Back To Nature. I would like to tell others about this , would any one know if VA , LOAN Would cover the complete build with land . On a conventional House you have to replace a roof.

It ended up being more spacey than we originally thought when we were planning it all with a measuring tape and nothing tangible to see

You need black out curtains. No closet? So the empty rack is it? Where is your storage? Bathroom is nice, but where is your laundry area. This seems more of a weekend house.
Wonderful but I'm confused where you are. I'm on Tenn. NC line on the mountain. Hot springs NC. and paint creek Tn. side. It list you in Tennessee but you state your in NC. Any who, enjoy and be safe. These bears are hungry this year and doing structure damage to retrieve it.
We’re on the Nc side of the Smoky Mountain National park near Cherokee! No bear sightings in 2 years we’ve been there by us or any of our neighbors
@@Tawnieandwayne Good deal. I see them but I rescue dogs, mostly hounds that get left here from hunters. They keep them scared off except for the corn I left out. Barking didn't overcome the bears hunger. He took my shed door off. Tossed it and had a feast. Lol
