They look amazing. I'm not sure how easy it will be to refill them being that high and close to the ceiling. Seems like if you moved them down and had room to dump a bag into the bin without having to remove the whole bin to refill it, it would be better. Can't wait to see what you do with it!
That has definitely crossed my mind! I'm really hoping it's not a big issues since they hold 4 gallons and I don't find myself filling my 5 gallon buckets too often. They do seem to come down easily when empty. I'll keep you posted on my final thoughts with it! Thanks for watching 💛
If you aren’t using the bar across the back pulling out to refill seems doable. But with the bar locking together I just don’t see how a refill would work this close to ceiling.
@KAMB_n_Jinx the bins pop on and off the bar in the back, so it's definitely doable and super easy! Be sure to watch tomorrows video where I do that 👏🏼
My first thought was rice…I don’t think it’s weird. I guess whatever you eat the most of. Very cool. I can see where you’d want to get more and go right across the top shelf!
I'm glad you agree! It's working out great so far 🙌🏼 total goals for across the top!!
Wow! Gorgeous! Thanks for sharing will be clicking your link! Ps pancake mix sugar rice beans & oats would be my pick ❤
Thank you so much! Great idea on the pancake mix!
Ooo love seeing the set up! I would definitely put rice in one of them. Oats and beans in the others.
Thank you! That's exactly what I added!
If you get excited bout gravity bin delivery, you must be a homesteading mom.🤓 Be blessed y'all. Jesus Rules!
Very true 🤣🤣
Great item for little hands! Your storage setup is great!
Thank you!
But it’s all plastic! Is it disposable? Does it leach?
It is FDA and NSF approved plastic, which blocks UV and is also BPA free. I'm hoping my children fight over them one day, so I'm not planning on disposing of them. Just refilling till I die 🤣
@@tinyshedlife thanks for that info. I appreciate you.
Rices, beans, lentils, elbow pasta.
Yes! Pasta! We eat a ton of that.
Beautiful, but there may be a problem filling them since the ceiling is so close & the big bags would have to be hoisted above your head. If you need a cheap shelf to put your bins on you can use 2 of the same type 5 gallon buckets and a 12" deep x 1" thick board x needed length (If you use the 7 gal buckets you will be able to put your other buckets or bags under the shelf. Or to access all things and make other shelves you can use heavy duty milk crates on their sides). I would put oatmeal, rice, beans, barley and small pasta in them.
One method to help use the oldest things on your shelf is to have all of the oldest at the front on the right. When you get new you put them on the left (Per type of food). The stuff on the floor in big bags is not as easy, but putting
Also, if you do not have time to keep a ledger/chart of your stock have your homeschoolers make a chart for you (You need: Date; Name; Size or servings; Quantity; Location; Type of container; anything else important). My mom used to add to her jar label - 1 of 3, 2 of 3, 3 of 3.
So many great ideas! Thank you! One of these days I will need to get in there and organize better. My 11 year old has been asking to do it with me. Be sure to watch my last video of me filling the bins!
Once that row is "installed," how easy is it to remove the clear containers from the black to refill? Because there's not enough headspace above to fill from above. Love them! So cool!
Definitely one of my concerns, but it was SUPER easy to take on and off! I'm doing it in my video that comes out tomorrow. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 💛
😊Thank you so much for sharing this. They look amazing on your top shelf. I am curious about the lids and how tight they are on. Do they snap down enough to feel sealed? Hope that makes sense.
Makes total sense! They have a good, snug fit, and snap on and off easily. I would not use them for long term storage, but in your regular rotation. We plan to keep oats, beans etc in our gamma sealed 5 gallon buckets and move food from there into the bins as needed. Thanks for watching and the question!
Great product. Totally unrealistic price for the average family!
It is an amazing product, but definitely an investment!
Rice, sugar,beans,lentils maybe flour
Great suggestions! I didn't think about sugar!
Millet, rice, beans
Thank you for the ideas! I've never used millet. Do you mind sharing how you use it?
@@tinyshedlife I love and appreciate millet. It aggravates the intestinal walls far less than quinoa or buckwheat, my other favorite grains. I use millet as a side dish with olives, onion, garlic and olive oil; it's especially good with a tomato/chicken dish. I love it for breakfast, with a cup of wild blueberries, coconut milk, blanched or sprouted almond slices and maple syrup. I've also seasoned it with curry powder and have added onion, celery, Italian Parsley and mushrooms. It's actually very diverse - let your imagination go wild!
@cherylplanert2673 I was literally thinking, "Wow! So diverse!!" Thanks for sharing with all of us. I'll have to add it to my Azure list!
@@tinyshedlife thank you. Millet is sure worth your trial!
Arent they just despencers? There kinda cool but probably not the best for long term storage.
Totally agree! I don't plan on long term storing in them. We make our way through food quickly. Ideally, if we had more than what fits in them, the remainder would store in a 5 gallon bucket with gamma seal lids. It would be an interim to what comes into the house.
Do you have a small a/c in your pantry? That is brilliant! I have always wanted a a basement for food storage but I live in a flood area so we can’t have a basement. This seems like a great way to recreate the “cold cellar” environment above ground.
That's exactly what we created! We don't have basements/cellars where we live either. We use the coolbot to drop the temp to 45! It's been amazing to store all of our foods. We did a three part video of the pantry install. Here is the third part: czcams.com/video/EvyNq59l_sM/video.html
