    Okay, I'm crying right now.
I'm going to be nineteen next month, and for year I've felt like I'm late, like I'm missing out: people out there have already achieved great milestones and there I am, nothing.
But thanks to yours words I feel better: I have a whole life in front of my, and I can make everything I want: in 2019 I want to improve my English (it's not my first language), to learn German, to visit at least another country, to work on my body, to start memorize some Mandarin character, to read more books of the last few years, to be more positive and happy about myself. Thank you so much for your inspiration.

All I can say is thank you. I'm 34 now and have been watching anime since I was around 17 and have always wanted to learn Japanese and as i get older, I look back and think if I had taken time to learn it back then I would already know it but after watching some of your videos I know have an understanding if what I need to do to start and finish. So I've just started and my goal is to be able to leave you a comment in Japanese "with only my memory" in 1 years time. I got my coworker to study with me so we can help each other. Again thank you for putting up these videos.

when I was 12 I got my first drawing pad, and I was drawing and animating everyday and enjoyed it. I was beginning to be very good at it. My parents never saw my talent on how good I was in make animation movies. My parents always says that I should not used the money on the drawing pad, because its was just useless. I would never get anything good at that drawing pad in my life. I had very low motivation, I just sat home drawing / animating. Know I am 22 and I worked on the animation on the a animation series called " glitch techs " a series that are coming this week on Netflix. My parents died last year from a car crash. And if I wish that I could just show them that I actually have became successful with that they didn't belive in.

I also taught myself calligraphy! So fun!

This guy is speaking so much sense. I love the idea that we all have abilities in us if we just invest that time. I'm 34 and have long thought of myself as talentless and just drifting through life but this is really inspirational. Recently I started to learn French and whilst I'm still struggling with the basics sometimes I know what lies at the end if I just invest in myself and don't quit. Thanks dude, you're amazing x

This is what I keep trying to tell people! Everyone says that I'm "talented" at the piano, everyone says I'm "lucky", but I can't get them to realize that they can do it too. I also really want to learn multiple languages, but I've found it really difficult. This video was a great inspiration for me. I'm glad you shared your story with everyone, and good luck on the piano! It'll take time and dedication, but, if you can put in the effort to learn and work on the languages you've worked on, and you have the right tools, you'll be able to do really well.

Everyone connected me to it - my 'talent' instead of who I was. I want to prove it takes hard work some people have a head start but thats it. I had a similar experience with ballet. I took ballet when I was about four for three years. Then I quit until middle school when I decided I wanted to pick it up again. Ballet is one of the most demanding activities ever. You have to be well coordinated, strong, athletic, and you have to make it all look easy. And starting up again in middle school was already starting much later than every one else at the studio who had been dancing since they were toddlers. That fact alone was very discouraging but I've met so many wonderful people who are now some of my best friends and I stuck with it. I've been dancing for five years now and got into the youth company at the studio a couple years ago. And now, even though I've gotten soloist roles in productions, I still don't see myself as talented but I try my best and work hard. Thank you for your kind and inspiring words and I hope to remember them as I try learning Chinese.

I realize now that the time you put in determines what you can do. Its always made me feel inadequate and informs alot of my i dont gaf attitude. I have recently been working on myself alot and this is just so inspirational. Everbody is born with every talent but all that talent gets lost if you don't nourish it. Talent isn't something magical that makes someone a master of his arts from day one. Talent is the result of the effort, love and sometimes pain that we go through while learning a certain skill. Executing said skill over and over again will make us talented at it. What we need to draw talent from this overflowing well inside of us is passion. Passion arises from inumerable aspects in our lifes like friends, family, society or demography and it can certainly be subject to change. This also means that we can augment or diminish our passion for something by changing certain aspects of our lives. I'm playing guitar for example but if I don't surround myself with music or people who are interested in/making it I will probably run out of passion after some time. Of course we can't adjust all of those aspects as we like (family/society/demography for example) but the ones I named are just the tip of the iceberg.
So everyone, go and find the aspects that you can change in your life to fuel your passion and become the most talented person there is ;)

Also - the fact that you pointed out that talent actually means TIME - that was genius. I am being called talented all the time because I am a graphic artist myself, but in fact - it is just hours and hours of practicing. And good luck with all your plans for learning new skills, you can do anything you can imagine :)

I feel you in music production and drawing, I didn't have any music or artistic background, 2 years ago till date I put in a lot of time (every single day) and there has been big improvement, even people saying the "T", I'm not the best or anything but I'm better than I was.

Thank you for making this video, I really want to learn Chinese and I'm trying to find the right motivation and push myself to be better than I am, so my feature can be more delightful, and it's hard, but I'm glad people like you make me want to take it further and motivate me to do things that I might have given up on due to the fact that I was "lazy"

Ikenna Oppa, thank you for this video. I have been paralyzed with fear and self doubt for most of my life. Always feeling I'm not good enough, rarely praised. I always felt unintelligent. It frustrates me so much and sucks the life out of me. I know I don't want to keep living like this. My dream is to learn Korean. You gave me bit of hope and warmth on this cold Friday morning...

I really would love to hear how you keep motivated as sometimes it can be mega hard even though people often tell me I'm gifted.

I'm one of those people. I'll be 27 in August and still haven't mastered Spanish. I'm a Peace Corps Volunteer in the eastern Caribbean and little to no one speaks Spanish here, so it's discouraging at times. I want to start a podcast, write children's books, start a clothing line, etc. I just have to believe in myself more.

It is kind of uplifting. As a kid I never did well at school, but was very talented when it comes to sports. Or so I thought, until I met a friend of mine who had to put so little effort into achieving something and I actually had to work my ass off. Now I'm struggling to find something new to be good at. Ironically, I live in Germany and I try to learn the language, but with all the effort I try to put into the language it's not as easy. I learned English pretty fast, in two months I could already use the language quite good. But I know I put much more into learning it than I do with German.
