Hello 👋 my name is Sara welcome to my channel Crochet for Baby. In today's tutorial I will show you how to crochet the matching baby hat to the blue and white baby set. This baby hat with ear flaps is for a 3-6 months baby. You can also make it smaller or larger by simply changing your hook size as mentioned in my video.
For the crochet baby hat with warm ear flaps I used a 4mm hook and James C. Brett super soft 4 ply yarn (British brand) which is comparable to a light #3 baby yarn here in the U. S. I used about 35 grams of yarn for the baby hat. You may need less or more depending how big or small you make yours. You can also use cotton thread #10 just use 2 strands.

Thanks to you ,I am almost finished crocheting the sweater from this set. I made many mistakes but mostly, I am pleased as I am self taught. You are a great teacher ..keep the tutorials coming.
I made my cord to tie the hat at the point of the ear flap by doing a chain of 40 then turning it to the backside and starting in the second loop from the hook doing a single crochet all the way up to where I started the chain and then continued with single crochets around the rest of the ear flap.
I did this as I was going around the hat with the blue yarn in the last row of half double crochets and single crochets. It turned out really nice and was a great way to attach the tie cords.
You do beautiful work. And you have a very great voice.

Very nice tutorial. I am curious about the turning of the band to begin the second row. I have never seen that done before. It makes a nice finished edge. Where did you learn that?
