    Thank you for taking the time to demonstrate how to make such a wonderful fun little baby hat! I did mine without the ear flaps. Your instructions were clear and very simple to follow along. Just a few hits to the pause button and I was well on my way! I really like that you also took the time to not only verbally and physically show and tell us all how to make this cute little hat you also printed the instructions at the top of your video for each line. Thank you!!!! I’m making this times 2 for a friend of mine that’s due to have twins boy and girl in a couple weeks. I’ve been searching for about 2 months now for the perfect hat and I have finally found it! I’ll also be making one for my soon to be granddaughter!

      Thank you so much for your nice comment. Only before you start make hats I want to lets you know I crochet tight :) One lady said all my works what she making from my videos comes out bigger then what I show on video. If you also crochet loosely maybe try 4.5mm crochet hook instead 5.00mm crochet hook. I am very happy if somebody likes my patterns. I making printed the instructions at the top of my videos then all world can understand :) if people do not understand English at all, but know crochet terms/stitches then can follow written stitches on the top of video. Yes this takes long time to write titles, but it is part of my hobby. :) All my patterns I designed myself.

    • @HappyCrochetClub
      @HappyCrochetClub  Před 5 lety +1

      Victoria I cant help without crochet hook size and yarn what you have. Lets me know what yarn you have and what crochet hook you will use. If the same 5.00mm crochet and Double knit yarn or Light worsted then you need make Ch 40 or Ch 45 this up to you how wide do you want turn up brim and hat length 7.5" or 8" when brim turned up. Make Ch 40 make few rows and then turn up this 10 stitches for brim and then measure how many inches you have. If no enough for length what you wanted make few chains more. If you use Aran or worsted weight yarn and bigger crochet hook will be less chains.

      Perfect reply thank you! I’m still using the same dk yarn (I used Stylecraft for the baby hats, a different but very similar yarn for adult) and same hook size. Thank you I will try with 40ch. 😊

    • @HappyCrochetClub
      @HappyCrochetClub  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi Claire! I think if you will use Aran yarn and 6mm crochet hook can be the same pattern and the same Chain 29. because hat is 4.5" for 0-3 months and you need only 1.5"-2" more in length if bigger hook and Aran yarn in natural way hat will be bigger. Try the same pattern first for 2 rows and then turn up brim this 9 or 11 stitches and measure how many inches you have if for example 6" then all ok, if no enough then need make few chains more. I just tried and I have 6" with aran yarn and 6mm hook and Ch 29. Also you can make Chain 31 and make for brim instead 9 sts 11sts. Hat you need make 16"-17" wide without stretch out or flat hat position 8"-8.5".

      I do not have blanket pattern but you can make yourself :) Just make a chain how long you want blanket and do the same stitch without this stitch what we turn up for hat. I am happy to make pattern for blanket. I never made before for videos, At the moment I making my first pattern for blanket and later I will make video I am in a half way. To make blanket takes so long :) because I crochet only in evenings.
      I will list this blanket what I making now and then I will make this one what you asked. Sorry about my English grammar. Anyway thanks for idea I will make blanket when I finish this what I doing now but I can't promise when. You can try yourself as well.

    Hi! I want to make this hat using Bernat baby sport light weight #3 yarn for a 3-6 month old. What size hook and do I use two strands or one strand? Also how many do I chain to start this size of hat? thank you

    • @HappyCrochetClub
      @HappyCrochetClub  Před 5 lety +2

      Hi, #3 yarn is good. The same 5.00 mm crochet hook, if you crochet loosely also can use 4.5mm
      If you want a little bit bigger then you have to make few chains more! If I have Ch 29 then maybe Ch 33 and then how wide you want, until you have for example 15" wide then you can join together with slip stitch. When you start make you can ask me more questions if you do not understand something. At the moment I can't explain much because then you do not understand what I talking about.
      the same hat adult size czcams.com/video/Ir8aJBHhwhc/video.html can make any size you like, Make first 2 rows measure how many inches./cm you have height if it is good for you continue pattern until you have how wide you need.

      I will list 1-2 years hat very soon, I already made that I just have to make a video. for 1-2y. I have 43 chains. For 4 years maybe +2 chains more ch 45. The chain goes for length. Just you need crochet wider 4 rows more pattern maybe. I can not tell I need to try and calculate. czcams.com/video/tQA4j6aSAZ0/video.html 6-12 months video add 2 chains for middle and 2 chains for a brim. 1 and 2 years will be the same hat size as the hat is stretchy. For 4 years you can add 4 ch for the middle and 2 ch for a brim. We can talk about this again later. I making at the moment an adult hat and then I will make a video for 1-2 years maybe already tomorrow or after tomorrow but you can try yourself as well if you wish.
      Toddler: 2 - 5 years

      @HappyCrochetClub  Před 6 lety +1

      If I have Ch 29 for 4.7" height (without hat turn up brim) and for 1 year old should be 6"-6.5" then we need 2" more
      I think 6 chains more Ch 35 maybe. ( You need try few rows then you see) 17" around crochet pattern until you will get 16" Baby: 12 - 18 months Head Circumference: 17", Hat Circumference: 16 "
      Hat we crochet like rectangle and then sew together.

      Hi, Thank you for watching my channel. This hat was 4.5" height for Newborn . 6-12 months baby you have to make 6.5" height. approx. you need 2" more its mean you have count how many stitches you have in one 1" seems like 4 stitches.
      then you have to make 8 chains more. Ch 29 +8 = Ch 37 (the same hook and yarn).
      And then you can + 4 stitches in middle where pattern FPdc and 4 stitches + for turn up or you can give 6 stitches for middle and only 2 sts for turn up edge. Then you have to make more wide , more rows 6-12 months baby hat should be 15.5"=16" approx. So make until you have 15.5"-16" then join together etc. If you making ear flaps as well there will be more stitches
      maybe 2 more instead for example 8 you can make 10. from one ear flap to other should be less stitches in a back and more in a front part. Hope you can understand. I am not very good for write in English.
      In one word the same pattern, hook and yarn + 6 or 8 stitches add to middle where FPdc and BPdc.

      She is not small some baby may be too big, She has perfect size head measurements for shes ages should be 17". You have to make 2 chains more for chain and always will be 2 stitches more in the middle FPdc and BPdc ...and other rows. And crochet up until you have 16 inches wide then join together etc. If you like earflaps also make 1 or 2 stitches more. The back part should be smaller than the front part. I believe you can make it.

      Hello, I really do not know straight away but I have measuring. This my hat do not have hat crown this we no need. Hook I like to use for babies 4.00mm less holes and more accurate work. I think you need only maximum 4 stitches more in the middle where FPdc, beginning and end make the same stitches. and need crochet wider until you have 15"-15.5" then saw together. If you will make ear flaps as well then can make only 2 stitches more in first row I think no need more. You can start make and then ask me for help again. I am happy to make new video but I am busy at the moment if need quick.
      Baby: 6 - 9 months

      Crown Circle Diameter: 5"
      Hat Height: 6.5"
      Baby: 9 - 12 months
      Head Circumference: 16.5"
      Hat Circumference: 15.5 "
      Crown Circle Diameter: 5.5"

      @@chelstanford7733 if 5,00 mm crochet hook then yes but you have to check length after few rows. When I create patterns I also try many times until I have the correct size and can make a video.

    Made one of these today. I didn't care for the ear flaps. So I left them off. For some reason they just didn't look right on my hat.
