One Wild and Precious Life | A Look Back at 2015

- 2015 was a tremendous year for me in so many ways, especially as it pertained to work. Having opportunities to travel, to see the world and tell stories via film - well, I just couldn't imagine a better scenario for myself.
From snippets of work I've done to documenting some of the behind the scenes and my own personal adventures, I give you "One Wild and Precious Life" - a line from Mary Oliver's "The Summer Day" which became a theme and mantra for 2015.

This stuff is just so amazing! I found your channel shortly after I started my running career about six months ago. I was 35 lbs over weight, a hopeless alcoholic and ready to just give up. I'm now 6 months sober, I've lost 30lbs and ran my first half marathon in August with a 1:51 time and am pumped to run my next one with a goal of sub 1:40 here in 10 days. Your content continues to motivate and inspire me. Please keep it up.
I've lost count of how many times I've seen this video. I can tell you that each and every time, this video offers the inspiration, motivation, and hope one may need.

This is awesome man. As a videographer the most beautiful and precious thing that can happen is to have those who watch be moved by your message. You sir, did just that. As some random 19 year old kid that hopes to get the most out of life, id like to say thank you for this.
Billy, I am a 50 year old runner from best East in Philly. Currently I am sporting a broken sesamoid bone in my foot and out for a few months. Tough times as you know. I have been running for a few years, building up my mileage, marathon count and love for all the things you share in this and other videos. Not sure of a 100 miler will ever be on my horizons, but watching the way you share your love of our sport makes me want to try to go longer and see how this old body can handle it. Thanks from all of us who watch from distance lands and take inspiration from your work.
You are an incredible filmmaker Billy Yang, an asset to our great sport, our broad community. But way beyond that, you are (truly) an asset to humankind. That barely 9min of story telling touched me like no 2-3hr Hollywood production ever has, just beautiful, deep, and honest. I bet there are so many people in your life that you've made proud, but I hope more than anything you are proud of yourself, you are doing it right. When I first watched Western Time I was impressed with your filmmaking, and storytelling. With each film since I have been entertained and inspired, and drawn into the stories you tell through film. While your other films have been focused on running, they are still entertaining for non-runners. This I will share with my daughters, my wife, my friends, and anyone else I can get to watch, runners or non-runners. You are a wonderful filmmaker, but you are becoming a phenomenal storyteller. This is one I will come back to often in the coming year as a reminder to lead an inspiring life. Thank you for this.
