Maybe for regional hual but no one would want to spend weeks in these cabovers
metalbeast1998 The trade off is with European trucks is you loose the sleeper space, but gain driving refinement and quality.at the end of the day, you drive these things, then sleep in them. Anything else is in between is splitting hairs. It how you feel after 8 to 10 hours behind the wheel that counts, the European trucks wins hands down in that department.
What about the lengthened Volvo's in the US or is that still the old FH3 cab? And if you're looking for DAF specifically; they lengthen them here in Holland as well. @@metalbeast1998 European drivers spend weeks at a time in them no problem - In fact that is what the big XF is designed for. More comfort than any yank truck any day.

Kenworth and Peterbilt are amazing trucks, but I’ve always loved cab over trucks! I wish some manufacturer would bring cab over trucks back to North America, especially since I’m limited to 65ft in over all length in my particular industry! I think Paccar would do very well if they would bring the XF to the American market, I think they would sell them as fast as they could build them!

Sounds like one there's only going to be one huge company owning all of the truck brands soon, like in the car market.
Ah yes those were the days... 2300 ATI 6 legger wagon & drag, 2100 ATI no air kitted tractor, then up to the big boys 2800 ATI plain white looking the same as the 3300 in the video. Have also been able to cabbie the early XF's but last DAF i drove was way back 2009, which was a nice small CF75 on night trunking, now i am retired.
I really agree for the golden color...fits super well on the truck.
Great video. Being here in the us we dont get to play with your cool cab over trucks. I drive a 2018 freightliner cascadia evolution. 15 liter inline 6 cylinder. 500 hp 1500 ftlbs torque about 2100nm in metric. 12 speed automatic transmission. Would love to see you come over here to the us and play with our style of trucks. Thanks for showing us your world.

I would like to get one and make an RV camper out of it, such a beautiful rig, too bad they don't sell them in the USA. I think they should sell them here, but Scania tried back in the 90s and failed, but I believe with the Euro van selling so well here I think this is a great time for Daf and others to try and sell their wonderful trucks in the US. Great video

My da used to drive a DAF 2800 along with an FH 12, F 10 and CF for a local haulage firm here in Kilkenny.
Front air suspension is one of the best options for the DAF XF

Tip of the hat to Harvey, who's was not just the hapless camera minion, but also knew where to point the camera, while going down the specs list. You just have to have that little extra as a salesrep these days. But great video on two nice locations at the other side of the Channel.
If DAF had gearbox like the I-Shift, I'd be all over it.
The new one appearantly is just like an I-Shift

Daf have always done a great large cab. But its about time they started making more powerful trucks. Every manufacturer has passed them in the horsepower league.

Quick Note: 'Leyland' brand name is also familiar in India as 'Ashok Leyland'. Currently they are owned by UK based Hinduja Group. Originally the company was a partnership between British Leyland and a firm based in South India. Leyland lorries own a good reputation here.

How is a DAF XF so tall yet still doesn't have a flat floor? Boggling. Although having a raised area helps keep dust in the foot well and out of the wider cab.
I saw a Renault D tractor unit the other day. Does Renault make them or is that an aftermarket modification?
I do local work in an urban trailer now but still use a Mercedes Actros 545. I am trying to convince my company to get me something smaller and not Mercedes. Wish me luck.

Because the XF is based on the very first XF. A complete ground up redesign would yield a flat floor.

What I can't understand is why the need for a convex main mirror as well as the spotter mirror? My yard (In Australia) got a shipment of new FM Volvos recently that were set up like this and the drivers demanded they be replaced with the much safer flat glass main mirrors.

Hi Stavros I like your channel. I expected to see layland ashok but it seems they are made out of there.
Why would you not buy a front air suspension. Makes no sense to me.
If an airbag blows you cant do anything till its repaired
@@hylkejansen7264 But the same can be said for gearbox and engine,off course parts wear out but im sure you get a replacement unit while yours is being repaired.
Pretty expensive compared to leaf springs. I’m talking from experience, I had to pay a couple of thousand extra for my S520. That’s why most fleet company’s choose for leaf springs compared to owner operators who choose luxury

Hi, was the truck revving at just 1050 rpm at 56 mph/90kph? Also do you know if the gearbox is direct drive or over drive on the 530's.
