I'm 30 and I remember hearing this song and seeing the movie at a young age with my mom. I been through some difficult moments in my life where I felt that I just couldn't make it through. Family members passing away, divorce, depression, thoughts of suicide, failed relationships and broken dreams. I thought I was done for, but then I remembered this song and oh man, the POWER and PASSION that consumed me to keep fighting, to keep moving forward, to never give up. I'm still standing because of this song.

My Grandfather loved this film. He passed away recently and at his funeral (which he had planned) this was the music which was played as his body was put into the crematorium. The man certainly knew how to leave in style.

I watched this movie last night for the first, the soundtrack is outstanding, i was in tears when i was listening to this, amazing film, fantastic performance from Daniel Day Lewis
When I would go to my chemo treatments, I would put my headphones on and play this on a loop as LOUD as possible. Helped me get through!
I tried my hardest to sleep when I did chemo. But I’d be in the chair all day and after a while of them pumping fluids in me I’d have to get up to pee 57 times. Medical marijuana made it bearable for me. I’d smoke before I went and about halfway through I’d take a puff off of a vape pen. Since I was there all day they’d give me a private room which was kind of nice. Now I get to do radiation and in less than four weeks I get to have the Whipple surgery. That’s not going to be fun.

@@bensims7501 Thanks. Started the radiation. Now they’re telling me surgery can’t happen until at least six weeks after my last radiation treatment which is Wednesday of next week. Part of me is glad because I’m not looking forward to that awful surgery, but then again I just want this cut out of me. I’ll survive the surgery. No telling what happens after that. Probably the cancer comes back. It does something like 85% of the time. But maybe the chemo got all the little bits of it hiding out wherever and the surgery will get it all.
My 9 year old daughter learned this on her violin. Brings me to tears when she plays it

I thank the Lord I have a strong wife and daughter behind me!

I’m a bodybuilder and I play this song when I’m in the gym. It puts me in a sort of trance like nothing else, as if I’m fighting to get to an end goal. Sort of in a barbaric way, I get into my own zone and become ultra focused with the song playing over and over again. The continuous beat of the drums pump me forward to get harder and stronger every set. And at the end of each exercise the song sort of gets louder and more ingrained in my head to go to my max, as if I have no choice. It’s like nothing I’ve ever experienced
My father was a body builder when I was a child and he always used Vangelis Conquest of Paradise whilst he was performing on stage. Sad to say he's not with me today anymore and as a grown man I always listen to that from time to time. The Last of the Mohicans was also one of his favorite movies and he loved this song.

This is truly a timeless masterpiece, and watching the intensity of Daniel Day Lewis running through the mountains just really drives home the visual point of doing whatever it takes to succeed.

I’m Mohican . I lived in the forest where this took place and lived next to the river. We had a tent in the primitive area. My earliest memory were coming out of my tent and the camp fire just starting. We would cook our breakfast over the fire and then bath we would walk down to the falls and bathe in the water refreshing. I was taught by the forest ranger mommy brother and Dr king. We would walk down the same paths as the native took. We would look for arrow heads in the corn field but know this was once the battle grounds. The hills beside the river were so beautiful green and lush. The birds and bear and deer and owl were there natively and the same bridges. I was barefoot and had a chance to dress like my ancestor. I still have a pair of beaded sandals. The love story was so enchanting. They made the story in a theater outside and we talked about the movie coming out.

What is weird about this music is that you never get bored although you listen to the same melody again and again, like it puts a spell on you.
It’s the flourishes. The uptick in percussion. The sway of the strings during the moments when it wants to change tone. Makes a basic song in structure feel very layered.

I remember being 10 years old when this movie was in theatre's in my country. I discovered this beautiful piece of music when the movie advertised it's trailer on local television. I remember that first time hearing it and how enchanting and at the same time haunting it was. My aunt got the song tapped onto a cassette for me, to which I listened to endlessly on my tape deck.
One day my grandfather was visiting, and heard the music coming from my room and exclaimed "who is listening to this beautiful music?". I will never forget the look of amazement on his face when he was told his 10 year old grand son. We both sat and listened to it, he closed his eyes as if to completely immerse himself in the sound.
I am 41 now and it will be 1 year since I lost you Grandad, but every time I stumble across this masterpiece, I have a brief moment in my memory that is so vivid with you thanks to this theme.
This sound reminds me the early 90 when i was a kid. We got everything today like internet, etc but we Lost pure souls, brotherhood, faithful women and good friends 😢

Without a doubt one of the top five greatest movies I have ever seen. Daniel Day-Lewis and Wes Studi were absolutely electrifying.
I agree - the only other movie that also moved was Gladiator - it too was profound to me - I went to a theatre by myself to watch it and was moved so much

This was my dad's and I favorite movie when it came out! I was a teen coming home late from the punk rock clubs to find him on his recliner waiting for me watching this movie. And I half drunk kid would sit next to him as he explained historical about everything!!! I miss that now!

This song always sends shivers down my spine. For me it is just magical. When paired with last scenes of the movie it is just incredible how well this is composed and how accurately it captures all of the emotions.

I was a young man in Asheville North Carolina walking through the mall and saw all of these actors in costume. Later when the movie came out I couldn't believe the effect of seeing these actors live during the filming. Easily one of the best movies ever made.
