    I live in Florida so I have been in every category of hurricane in Miami growing up. I live in central Florida and frankly it's rare a tornado touched down in anywhere in Florida. I never seen the few that has. I have been through only one tornado but taken cover inside and did not see it. I only had to deal with the aftermath of it since I worked as a head manager for a residential community.
    The clean up and repairs were aweful. But I always wanted to see a active tornado. I wish I stepped outside in a clear zone to see it but the tornado that struck my homes on the next street over about 100 feet away so it was to unpredictable on stepping outside with not knowing exactly where it was until after it passed. I do hope to see one in the future in person though only if I can. Unfortunately no one knows when they would hit unlike a hurricane with advanced warning.

    • @jeroldcrawford3431
      @jeroldcrawford3431 Před 4 lety +3

      Actually, Florida has more tornadoes per square mile than anywhere else in the country. It is just that our tornadoes are, for the most part, little things that spin up during our daily thunderstorms in the summer,, take off someone's screened porch and disappear. We also have a number of waterspouts here which are counted as tornadoes. A strong one is rare but can occur for the same reason as up north during our winter when a cold front hits the warm moist air. Anything over an EF-2 is rare and we have never had an EF-5 here in Florida at least per our NWSFO in Tampa Bay, Ruskin..
