Without being a fully condensed funnel, it was kind of hard to tell where the actual tornado was at first. Then it plowed through that house across the street and became quite evident! ;)
Holy Crap! The house across the street is being ripped apart, and the guy keeps on filming, and with an amazingly steady hand. Nobody seems overly concerned. Either they were incredibly ignorant or the whole lot of them have brass stones. Where was this? It's amazing!
That was incredible!! Watching that house lifted up right from the foundation commands respect for these storms!! But you were a bit too close for comfort!🤔
Better their house getting totaled than yours . Great close up of damages going down thank you for being brave enough to get this super video footage. You deserve a medal or something.
I live in Florida so I have been in every category of hurricane in Miami growing up. I live in central Florida and frankly it's rare a tornado touched down in anywhere in Florida. I never seen the few that has. I have been through only one tornado but taken cover inside and did not see it. I only had to deal with the aftermath of it since I worked as a head manager for a residential community. The clean up and repairs were aweful. But I always wanted to see a active tornado. I wish I stepped outside in a clear zone to see it but the tornado that struck my homes on the next street over about 100 feet away so it was to unpredictable on stepping outside with not knowing exactly where it was until after it passed. I do hope to see one in the future in person though only if I can. Unfortunately no one knows when they would hit unlike a hurricane with advanced warning.
Actually, Florida has more tornadoes per square mile than anywhere else in the country. It is just that our tornadoes are, for the most part, little things that spin up during our daily thunderstorms in the summer,, take off someone's screened porch and disappear. We also have a number of waterspouts here which are counted as tornadoes. A strong one is rare but can occur for the same reason as up north during our winter when a cold front hits the warm moist air. Anything over an EF-2 is rare and we have never had an EF-5 here in Florida at least per our NWSFO in Tampa Bay, Ruskin..
Sat right on top of that house, air pressure plummets and say goodbye to the frame. That almosts looks like a random satellite tornado you get in hurricanes, looks like the ocean coast but I could be wrong.
This is some great footage the tornado just sucked the roof right off of that house across the street. I went threw the memorial day tornadoes in Dayton Ohio in 2019, and there was so many people not taking the storms seriously . Everyone should see this footage it might wake some people up about how dangerous this storms are to life and property.
Wow, some serious footage, but I can't believe they were outside filming. Either they have a death wish or they are ignorant of what a tornado can do, but I would think that after they saw the house across the street get shredded they would have headed for the basement. I'm an old fat lady but in the situation I'd become a track star.
Did I hear sheet metal go flying? (I only asked, because I can only listen to these videos, and I'm by myself. Yes, I'm totally blind. By the way, the sound improves a bit throughout the video, so my apologies for criticizing the sound.
@Judy G. There are programs that read it out loud. I'm low sighted and have some issues but not as bad as they are. Same program does speech to text....
I saw this vid elsewhere, and it was a waterspout which came ashore. Thus the guy filming it was relatively safe since he knew exactly where it was. The destroyed roof was mentioned as being poorly fastened.
Me and mama lived but weez got a puupy and a kitty dat is dead now, dey witt gawd or da devil. Mama by me a new lizard named gila monster, but hez not no monster. Dough he did eat my cuzins cats and two birds dat my aunt waz uzin to send mail to my dadys brother in da prison place. We dont got no donkeys tho.
Holy %#@* is too right! :-O Brilliant capture! I wonder what we saw with that house across the way. Was it pinpoint destruction to only one house, or were we seeing the difference between well-built structures and a crap-built structure? Love those high decks, btw.
Looks like well built high dollar structures, but the tornado looks like a landfalling waterspout and not an actual tornado. Did you see the velocity at which that roof was flung towards the elevated home? Holy Shit. That would have allah snackbarred the heads off of an entire bloodline
Definitely a multiple vortex tornado.. that's how one home can be obliterated like what we saw here and the one across the street was hardly touched. It could easily have been the other way around... that well-built house on stilts would have been trashed if that mini-vortex crossed it.
@@18andlikeit An EF1 can rip a roof off under the right conditions. Houses with windows open/broken windows will lose their roofs with as little as 90mph winds
@@18andlikeit There were only two tornadoes on May 8, 2012, and both were EF-0. This video was either taken in Corpus Christi, TX or Port St. Lucie, FL.
You have the wrong definition of a tornado then. This one is pretty clear. Wind is spinning in an upwards motion tossing pieces of a house as the debri spins around counter clockwise. There’s only one thing on the planet that can do that in that fashion. A tornado.

Pretty good camera work considering what was going on. Nice job capturing.
Yeah it is! As soon as that roof takes off I’m hitting the fucking deck.
That was amazing. Easily one of the better up close damage videos.
Damn !!!!! I hope nobody was in that house when the rooftop lifted

It freaking lifted a whole house!
The capture of this on camera is AMAZING, nature at it's most intense up close
This is one of the most intense footages I've ever seen
G B check out Shultz tornado footage , that is the worst I have seen , or the best , you know what I mean , and if you can use headphones
How about this one!!! 😥 czcams.com/video/qnl586lctzA/video.html

Jesus! The title is extremely extremely accurate lol - this is the opposite of clickbait LOL
Shows just how isolated Tornadoes can be ..like a wind driven drill-bit.
Absolutely! Not a big one but damn it reeked havoc on that one house. Direct hit! Score! Seriously great footage. Hope everyone made it out ok.
Insanely strong footage
Seems like the houses along the coast do fine with straight line winds for hurricanes but when the winds are sucking upwards they fall apart quickly.
Grand Isle, Louisiana? Right?
It’s crazy how the sky is blue with white clouds in background. I’m glad I don’t have to go through random spin ups
I wonder why the tornado hated that house? Great footage and I hope you are doing well.
That is crazy good footage but jees, I'd be shitting my pants out there.
That was incredible!! Watching that house lifted up right from the foundation commands respect for these storms!! But you were a bit too close for comfort!🤔
Seems like it was a waterspout first before coming on land and getting better organized into an actual tornado. Amazing footage.
Better their house getting totaled than yours . Great close up of damages going down thank you for being brave enough to get this super video footage. You deserve a medal or something.
I don't understand how anyone can remain calm when a tornado hits, or when they see someones house being blown apart.
Yup, this actually IS amazing footage.
Wow ! We dont have tornadoes here where i am living... i think is very dangerous and scary for all these people who live there... Hello from Greece
Well hello from Iowa USA in tornado alley been in 3 tornados really gets the adrenaline going
Tornadoes can form anywhere if the right conditions are in place. Don't take it for granted that you have very few tornadoes in Greece.
Did you film this at home?
Hoooly shit! Now that is some for real tornado action right there. Great video.

Didn't have that roaring sound we've heard from other tornadoes, but the damage was very evident.
This was at best an EF-2. The “roar” comes from mile wide EF-4/5 monsters. And it’s a sound no one ever wants to hear in person.
Illustrate how fkd up even
less significant twisters can be.
Was that an F0?
Did those people survive?

0:25 modular construction?

These houses are on stilts. Can't have basements on the beach.
It more looks like a hurricane than a tornado (just by looking at the palm trees).

Would an ef1 or weak f2 rip a roof off a house like that??
That was my first initial thought as well

Thats what ya get when you build houses out of cardboard and rice cakes
The more junk you use the more money you make in building these houses. The roof came off like a piece of paper.
Your lucky as shit that wasn't a fully formed tornado
@holio no it wasn't before you get a fully formed tornado you'll have touch downs.... I don't know if it stayed on the ground after this tho
looks like a EF0 or EF1
tony sales depends on the construction of those houses. I say, strong EF1/weak EF2.
