I only have one female eclectus but I potty trained her within a month of her living here. I noticed the signs she would do right before pooping so I started taking her to her cage top or tree stand, setting her down, saying poop and telling her good job when done. I made sure to alternate which place I took her so she understands she has a couple options (the cage or two diff tree stands). Once she got it she started flying off to go on her own. If she’s chilling with me for over 20min and I realize she hasn’t gone I point to a spot and say go poop and she will go do her business and then come right back!

Thank you so much for this video! I recently found this really stressed and sad looking Canari with missing feathers around her neck and really feel bad for her. I feel the need to adopt her but know diddly squat about birds and how much responsibility it actually takes. Your vids are super helpful and much appreciated.

The thumbnail said it all 😂 it's like that with me too and chew my all things too 😅
I use some newspaper for the window cuz they have their bowl of their food too they love to eat near window and for my table i just use tissues to wipe of the poop before it dry
As for me they hardly poop on me ever since they came home, they just kind of back off then poop on floor, chair or on my swing, but yeah accidents can happen sometimes too 😅
Edit : mimi i wanted to ask u about Rio, when he sit on sunlight with me he just want me to rub his eyes, why's that, i don't know what behaviour is this, is it simply just cuddling or something else 🤔

I was somehow able to train mine to poop on his perches, which works about 90% of the time. Sometimes he mistakes the back of a chair for the perch, but I can forgive that. Sometimes when flying, he will poop and it lands on the floor. I honestly can't complain, he is really good overall and I know he tries.
One problem is when he's in his cage, he often hangs on the wires and will poop in the most inconvenient places. Like, in between these narrow areas in between the metal wires where I have a real hard time cleaning it. I swear he does it on purpose 😂

My birds just don't care where the poop lands, so i just wear old clothes when I'm with thrm because I don't care if they get stained. They've pooped on my hair a few times but i have short hair so I just wash it quickly and it's done. Tbh I've gotten used to it

    What a shitty topic.
That said, I'm extremely happy that my bird thinks of my room as his nesting ground, and refuses to poop in it. He'll actually hold it in until I bring him elsewhere, and created his own designated pooping spots, like a chair, that he taught himself to use.
    Downsides to this:
    1. He often makes me carry him when he has to go, since he seems to dislike flying when he's held it in for awhile.
    2. He thinks of my room as his nesting ground, and will kill me on sight if he doesn't like me for whatever reason (shaved, have a hat on, wearing my glasses, etc.).
    3. He thinks of my room as his nesting ground, so gl to me inviting anyone in. LOL

Ahahahhahaa I see what you did there 😂
Oh man sounds just like Luza my quaker. I have to escort her to go poop, she has some pooping trauma so she needs a lot of encouragement. If i leave for too long she will divebomb me and peck at my head as punishment, as well forget about guests in there 😂

Do you think it’s ok to introduce a two year old quacker (very calm) to two other 6 month old quackers. They come from the same store and their cages are adjacent to each other. All three are very calm, even for the loud and cramped environment they are stored in.

i trained my qp when he is out of the birdroom to go potty. i just say "go potty, mister" and he heads for his cage to do his duty. he comes back out after that. i give him about 10 mins out and tell him to go potty.he's on it then. sometimes my qp goes w/o being reminded.
