    No one knows the exact origin of the dessert, but several claim that during the Second World War, it was experimented with by a housewife who wanted to create something very delicious and decadent from her meager pantry. Then the recipe resurfaced a few decades later and conquered the world. Since then, it is not only sold in pastry shops but pre-packaged mini cookies can also be bought in stores.
    Another story claims that in 1988, John Chapman, the cook at Chappy's Seafood restaurant, claimed that the dessert originated from Vicksburg-Natchez, near Jackson. He knew this because he knew Jenny Meyer, who lost her house on the Mississippi shore in the spring flood of 1927 and worked in the area as a waitress when the chef first tasted this very chocolaty dessert with her.
    Before that, people used to dig their feet into the cool mud on the shore and eat watermelon, and then they ate this rich dessert. So the legend goes.
    The dessert, baked with a rich brownie base and covered with cream, is served with whipped cream and ice cream. Oreo cookies are mostly used for the bottom layer, but of course, it's also very delicious with any other cookie.
    Ingredients for the cookie layer:
    200 grams cookie crumbs
    100 grams margarine - melted
    1 tablespoon cocoa powder
    a little sugar depending on how sweet your cookies are
    Some put the mixture in the refrigerator, and some put it in the oven after smoothing it out on the bottom of the pan.
    I put it in a preheated oven at 160 degrees Celsius for a quarter of an hour and let it cool completely.
    Ingredients for the brownie:
    250 grams flour
    125 grams sugar
    65 grams cocoa powder
    1 full teaspoon baking powder
    1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
    250 ml water
    200 ml oil
    vanilla - I take whole vanilla and dry and grind it myself
    Ingredients for the cream:
    3 dl plant milk
    2 and a half packets of vanilla pudding powder
    100 grams sugar
    1 tablespoon cocoa powder
    2 tablespoons margarine
    I cooked a thick cream from the pudding and mixed it with the margarine, then spread it over the cooled cake.
    When everything has completely cooled and the cream has solidified, cover it with whipped plant cream.
