Girl In The Fire VIP switches the intro for a drumless version of the breakdown and a cheeky synth-only lead into the drop. There's also a drum solo at the very start - presumably added to help beat match the tune when DJing, as this version would've been meant for live play only and it's unlikely to have ever been considered for release. Our first hint of this version existing was it being played at the Pendulum set @ Innovation Carnival 2005-08-27. Couple weeks later Pendulum would include it in their Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1 (2005-09-18) and they named it the "Essential Mix Version" as per the official tracklisting. web.archive.org/web/20080123125133/www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/essentialmix/tracklistingarchiver1comments.shtml?20050918 Although, should be noted that there's no definitive proof that it was made for that purpose, as unlike other essential mix specials this exact edit was being played out before and also well after Essential Mix broadcast. It was a recurring part of Pendulum sets from mid 2005 until about late 2007 (one of its last being the Vspyshka set in 2007 sept). www.discogs.com/release/10658759 What you're hearing now is our recording of the Fire VIP / Painkiller dubplate, another one from Adam F's personal collection. No remake magic here - it's the real deal, straight off the acetate record 😎 There's a demo of Painkiller on the other side as well so stay tuned! And hope you enjoy Brought to you by: Cherry linktr.ee/cherry412 Dagny linktr.ee/shredtune
New Pendulum is really just a Linkin Park phase. They even said they write their music first and foremost to be playable in a live band. Pendulum will never produce pure unadulterated dnb ever again unless they're being carried by a dnb artist (Hybrid Minds).
I haven't heard this song (the album version) since like 2010 when i binged EDM for a couple years and then put it all away when i started getting into other genres. Clearly that was a mistake, been sleeping hhhhhard on these guys. Coming back to it in this way was like rediscovering it all over again
This channel is great, and the Pendulum subreddit too. I flash modded my iPod Mini last week and already put 61 songs on it that day, songs only from The Vault's uploads. Now I have 131 songs, of which 106 are Pendulum songs or Pendulum-made remixes. Thank you Cherry, Dagny and everyone else who have put work into archiving and reviving Pendulum music!
Almost correct. Adam F gave away his collection many years ago, of which we've seen little hints of appearing in various places. Late last year a large part of the collection appeared online for sale and we were able to save a couple of things from it to preserve for the channel
I hope everyone likes this. The only thing I can ever hear in any Girl In The Fire version is the two badly cut cymbal loops in the drop over... and over... and over... You won't be able to unhear it once you notice
hey just a heads up the channel is ran by two people now and i havent been using that name for ages. it's Cherry (myself) and Dagny behind this stuff now!
@@notrobswire yeah, it seems to be quite rare. As there is only two uploads on youtube, one being a radio rip and the other probably being the same with the speech cut off. I downloaded the radio rip myself and added a fade out on audacity, for the lack of a cleaner version, just wanted the song on my iPod.

Cherry you do spoil us! Wicked find!
This is beautiful. Thanks guys.
wake up babe the vault posted another pendulum unreleased trax
Crazy how old pendulum tunes give me more excitement than new ones
Well, I mean back then they were young, full of piss and vinegar and had to prove themselves to the world, so that's when they did their best work.
@@varvarvarvarvarvarwell that's an awful approach
@@pointlessfeature How, why?

Old pendulum > New pendulum
this version has always been a personal fave of mine
big love to cherry and dagny
🤘🤘
Hold on. Is it called "Girl in The Fire" because it samples "Girl from Ipanema" drums?
I've been listening to this song for over 15 years...
Girl In The Fire is still one of my favorite Pendulum songs. One of my favorite dnb songs in general. Nice to hear it in a different way.
I fell in love with this song through heavy radio rotation and it made be seek out their album, never heard anything like it before.

My favourite Pendulum tune of all, excited to hear this
Edit: yeah OG still better. But obviously it's cool to hear an alternate arrangement.
This tune, showdown, the tempest. 🙌
those intro drums 👌
I love the work you do. Always enjoy hearing alternate Pendulum tracks.
glad you dig! we have a lot of cool stuff lined up this year so certainly not the end of it!

@@shredtune thanks for the explanation, absolutely amazing work guys
@@shredtune now lets wait for Noisia to start selling their shit and we grab Masochist remix that way haha
I love this song so much. Glad to hear a great VIP on it after all those years.
I love the fans. I love the community. Pendulum enjoyers are my brothers and sisters. Thank you for this upload. Let's enjoy ourselves.
The fact this comes straight from a vinyl makes it 10x cooler!
Thanks for this share Cherry & Dagny! Listened to this version since 2017 or 2016 where you first downloaded it :)
I actually really like this version. Just as good as the original which is already a masterpiece.
This tune takes me half way back my life! These notes! Timeless stuff!
why is this only now released and known about? that beginning is everything we lack in modern dnb and music...
it almost sounds like the beginning of a cumbia track
Love this sm

Yes!!! Finally! I was looking for this! Thank you guys!
Always been a banger - lovely to hear a VIP from this. Thanks for the upload :)
