    CLIP DESCRIPTION:
    Speeding through a tunnel, Marty (Michael J. Fox) fights Biff (Thomas F. Wilson) for possession of the sports almanac.
    FILM DESCRIPTION:
    Things have barely settled from the excitement and resolve of the original Back to the Future, when in pops that crazy inventor Dr. Emmett Brown (Christopher Lloyd) with news that in order to prevent a series of events that could ruin the McFly name for posterity, Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox ) and his girlfriend are whisked into the future to the year 2015, where Marty must tangle with a teen rogue named Griff, who's obviously the descendant of Biff, the first Future film's bully. Marty foils Griff and his group when he jumps on an air-foil skateboard that flies him through town at rakish speeds with the loser bullies beaten again. Marty gets a money-making brainstorm before hopping in the time-traveling DeLorean, and he purchases a sports almanac. He figures that back in 1985 he'll be able to place sure-fire bets using the published sports scores of the games that are yet to happen. Unfortunately for Marty, Dr. Brown disapproves of his betting scheme -- he feels too much messing with time is very dangerous -- and he tosses the almanac. A hidden Biff overhears the discussion about the almanac, sees it get tossed out, and grabs it. Thus begins a time-traveling swirl to make the head spin. Biff swipes the DeLorean, heads back to 1955, and with the help of the unerring almanac, bets his way to power. The now-altered "Biff world" has turned into a nightmarish scene with Biff the mogul, residing in a Vegas-styled pleasure palace and running everything. It's all our hero Marty can do to pull the pieces together this time, as he must jump between three generations of intertwined time travel. The end of Back to the Future, Part 2 introduces its sequel as the zany professor has already time-dashed away to the Wild West of the late 1800s and invites Marty into a new adventure.

    1:28 fun fact: the actual tunnel is shorter than what the film shows, so they used many tunnel lights that get smaller and smaller, by using forced perspective, to create the illusion of a longer tunnel. sportsygirl8 Most villains start off as being bullies so there really wasn't any surprise that Biff turned into Donald Trump/Gene Simmons on steroids in 1985A once he got some power (In the original 1985 he was still a bully of Mcfly dad but in 1985b he was a sniveling loser) Lets not forget that in 1955 if Mcfly dad hasn't shown up to beat Biff and rescue Lorraine then he would have probably raped her and that ain't just a bully.
      Also when we mentioned Biff we have to remember that it includes not only young and middle age Biff but also old Biff, Biff grandson and Biff great grandfather Griff.

    • @afriendofbean
      @afriendofbean Před 10 lety +114

      ***** You have a great point about Biff not being very bright. One of the things that Biff is not very bright is that, he falls for Marty's tricks every time. For example, whenever Marty points behind Biff something like "Biff, what's that?", Biff always turns around and then Marty punches him in the face.

    • @afriendofbean
      @afriendofbean Před 10 lety +26

      ***** Yes, I remember Marty throwing the matchbox tray at the adult Biff when he was about to shoot Marty where I think Biff was either the President of the United States or they just made a museum in honor of Biff. However, I think Biff was smart to turn back around fast and look at Marty like he was saying "what are you pointing at" since he ducked before the matchbox tray could hit him. I definitely know that Biff's grandfather named Griff was smart because, in the Café 80s scene, Marty did the same trick telling Griff to look behind him which Griff did and Griff knew it was a trick where he grabbed Marty's hand and twisted his hand.

    • @afriendofbean
      @afriendofbean Před 10 lety +12

      ***** Yes, perhaps it was the devices on Griff's arms that caused him to block Marty's punch or, maybe there was a mirror that he saw Marty's punch. Regarding grandfather, I might have made a mistake and gotten that backwards that maybe Biff is the grandfather of Griff (that is probably another reason why he was able to block Marty's punch since he probably had experience of learning that his grandfather Biff falling for Marty's tricks knowing it was a trick and then blocked Marty's punch to prepare himself) since Griff called Biff Grams (short for grandfather) when he first entered the Café 80s.

      I would go out on a limb and say since he knows that the almanac was right and was from the future, that a hoverboard wouldn't be that out of the question. So his thought may be: Marty is trying to steal something from the future back, on something from the future.

    Separate observation: at 1:07, we first see the manure truck, which Biff manages to avoid. At 2:30, it shows up again, stopping right in front of him. However, that means that almost a minute and a half have passed since Biff swerved to miss the oncoming truck, and yet it has apparently now only just barely exited the tunnel. That might even be plausible if the truck were just barely creeping along, except that when Marty looks down to the end of the tunnel at 1:29, we can see that the truck is already out of the tunnel, meaning it's definitely not moving THAT slowly.
    In addition to bizarre timing issues, there's the fact that the manure truck suddenly just stops right in front of Biff. Why? There's no traffic light, no stop sign, and no place in sight where the driver could plausibly be going to deliver the manure. So what gives?
    Well, the answer is obvious: the manure truck driver knows exactly what the hell he's doing. He's not delivering manure anywhere; he's deliberately positioning himself so that Biff will rear-end his truck! That's why he was driving fast enough to get out of the tunnel quickly, yet subsequently slowed to a crawl and then stopped just outside of the tunnel.
    And I say "he" because the likeliest candidate for driver of the truck is the one man with both the means and the knowledge of the precise timing of events to go back and make such an awesome troll happen: none other than Dr. Emmett Brown himself! :3

    Michael J Fox as Marty and Tom Wilson as Bif played this amazing energetic confrontational scene for the third time resulting in Wilson's character as Bif encountering his predictable old nemesis of the gardeners pick up and manure trailer once again!!!
    I'm amazed at the youthful energy that Fox and Wilson we're blessed with by God in participating in their episodic confrontational chase scenes. Especially Michael J Fox, who was running on fumes in full time during the day in filming Family tTes and at night filming love Back to the Future., despite his youthful energy being age 23.
    Too bad in 1985 they hadn't developed a cyberneric GPS app. to place older vehicles like his 1946 Ford to detect the presence of gardening pickups with manure trailers, so poor old Bif wouldn't have to suffer as a 3 time loser ,showing he is really full of bull**** after all!!!. Marty not only owned the Biff from 1955, but also Biff's grandson, Griff from the alternate 2015 (alternate meaning that it has the hovering vehicles, whereas OUR 2015 did not have any of that), the Biff from the alternate 1985 AND Biff's great-grandfather, Bufford "Mad Dog" Tannen in 1885. That's one of the things I love about the BTTF trilogy, we see Biff's relatives continually being defeated by Marty (and George when Biff gets knocked out in the parking lot). I always laugh at the part in this video where Biff screams, "Manure! I HATE MANURE!!!" like a little bitch. It's also hilarious when Marty travels back to 1885 and punches Bufford, causing him to fall into the pile of manure. Then when Bufford is arrested by the sheriff, the sheriff asks, "Do you have anything you want to say?" Then Bufford replies, "I hate manure."

      Three schools of thought on the matter.
      1. In the case of seeing Marty on the Hoverboard, he could have dismissed it as him using that board on wheels thing he saw Marty use against him before. (Bare in mind no one has heard of a skateboard back then before.)
      2. In the case of seeing the flying car, bare in mind the man was drunk and had his head beat in twice. He could have dismissed it as some strange helicopter at best or at worst a hallucination brought on by spiked punch.
      3. Even if his head doesn't dismiss that, bare in mind people mistaken Marty as an Alien before. First Peabody's family, whom he crashed into the barn. Second those people who he tried to hitch a ride with. A story like that doesn't go unnoticed even if Governments don't get involved in it. So naturally a high school student like Biff would catch winds of rumors of an alien among them that has mutated into human form.
      Seeing as how anyone could mistake a DeLorean flying overhead of you, with the wheel lights on and everything; as a UFO, option 3 is the most likely one. That being said, he crashed into the Manure truck again he probably got a shook head from it. But even if he didn't, while the rumors would still be around, no sane and rational man would think a drunk teenager that just crashed his car into a truck, would believe Biff if he said "Aliens crashed my car!!"

    If I was Doc I would've given Marty the sleep-inducing alpha rhythm generator (the device used to put Jennifer to sleep) to knock Biff out, take the almanac, drive Biff home unconscious, leave him in the parked car in the garage and then burn the almanac.

      If I drove a car against any wall, there would be damage on the car. Try to explain that. This is fiction but it makes for great angst.

      I think since this is a car from 1955 it has excellent durability so even that probably wouldn't damage it. But even if it did, Biff would do anything to kill Marty after all.

    2:31 If you slow it down, it looks like they wrecked the Ford into the truck at least once before using this take. It's a quick shot, so most people wouldn't notice the dents. After the video cuts to Biff, the dent's not there on the next shot, so they used the initial take from the other camera angle.

    I'm sad that no one said this (I'm not sure), so I'm gonna say it. This is one of the MOST IMPORTANT scenes on the trilogy. I repeat: The MOST IMPORTANT. And that my friends, is because this battle is not only a fight for Marty's, Doc's, Estein's and Jeniffer's future, but for the entire world future, or for the entire Hill Valley city to be more specific. Knowing that the entire town is at Marty's hands on this scene just make it more epic.
    This is a teaching for us that to make epic scenes, you don't need to make an army of heroes fighting against the villain's army, but a simple battle at the car with storytelling elements can give you that feeling. Back to the Future movies is for sure one of my favorites. I love the trilogy and it shows how old movies can old well til nowadays.

    @MegaKevinwon lets recap: biff was given a book by a supposed distant relative that he knows nothing about and is said to know the future. then a punk he already hates
    shows up seemingly trying to steal it multiple times and inbetween all that theres him
    hovering on 180 degree angles off cars and shimmying up ropes that appear when needed. personally i think biff reacted pretty normal just trying to keep the property he was given. but in the end... SHIIIIIT!!
