Actually, drawing the old one make me realise that I don't. The new Emala is what I want to be by mane oc but the old one is just a big hit of nostalgia and I like her because of that. It's the only thing that making me loving her, knows that she was here, and letting her go is making me more happy than keeping her because she's not what I love.
I need to let go, I'm not gonna be happy by taking again the old design. I need to focus on why I changed her in a first way.
Believe me or not, it's wasn't supposed to be sad 😭😅

Me too it made me think of my old model of my oc my first character she brought me such joy when u was 10 but now that I'm 14 going on 15 on November well she change along with my tastes and intests and what I see in a character believe it or not she used to be a mary sue then I changed her over time now...I love her so much...but the orginal will always have a place in my heart....*sniff* sorry...

When seeing that artist can have emotional attachments to an OC that they had for so long and just having regrets on drawing a side by side comparison of the two characters is both inspirational and emotional for both you, your fans, and myself. I remember Old Emala back in the day and the New one is still incredible, you've grown as an artist. I also have regrets when I drew an OC of mine and changed her design once. I legit cried remembering how my character was but I also know that at the same time my past self is proud to see me grow as an individual. I can see this being a final goodbye to Old Emala; having her say "I hope she's gonna love you more than me," is her final appearance and her final words to everyone that followed her for so many years and to the New Emala's future. Thank you for this amazing nostalgic art. :)

Back Story?-
The New version of Emala used her powered to see into a passed life and stumbled across a older version of herself that looks back at them and speaks to them directly.
Idk, that what I thought of the story for the art.
Honestly, that's a cool story for this piece.
I really love this. Imagine being able to see a past version of yourself, or a past version see you now. How different both are, I would love to talk to an old self, I could hug her and tell her it will be okay. That she'll make it through. This is just amazing. ❤❤

This definitely hits home for me. I've redesigned my oc many times. Its sometimes hard to let the old ones go but I know that change will help me with my art
Seeing the finished product with, "I hope she loves you more than me." legit made me cry. The evolution of Emala is amazing. Both characters are uniquely and stunningly made... Seeing how you started to regret creating the new design reminded me of when I did a redraw of my oc over and over again. Redrew my original... And then looked at my current... Completely hit me where it hurt...

In my personal opinion:
I feel like one of the very reasons why you wanted to redesign her (aside from the ones you listed) is the way you drew her. In this one, she looks more adorable then you've previously drawn her.

The show case made me cry, "I hope she's gonna love you more than me" hit me right in the heart;;
Emala, you took a beautiful decision by… changing everything in your OC that you created years ago. This is a proof that you're growing up. This broke my heart to see them together, and.. just like this.. This could be amazing to see them both later, like- two defferents OC's, with their respective storyback's,, But I won't tell you what to do with them, they're yours after all ! :)
I know you want to pass over the old Emala, and I respect your choice, bcuz you hurt yourself by letting her where she is, but you still keep going on with the new Emala !

I love this, I genuinely think people forget how much an OC can mean to a person, to not only change them into something new but to get rid of them completely is pretty heartbreaking and I think anyone reading this should take a moment and just love your characters. They’re yours, no one else’s 💕🥺

i like how there is some designs of a character that come and go and if you completely change that character from one design to another, that previous design will always stay with you and it feels like that design will always be waiting for you to come back to them

This piece has such a bittersweet feeling to it. And how the previous design has such a sad and longing look to her and the shock espressed by the new design really hits that bittersweet feel.

The quote “I hope she’s gonna love you more than me” hit WAY TOO HARD for me as an artist!
The character in my current icon, she has gone through many changes since her creation but the previous one she had before this one, I loved a lot! But when I look back I think “Damn, maybe I could’ve kept it but changed it a bit?” and “Maybe I should’ve kept it”. That is inspiring and helps you think more and what you can do better! Sometimes we think we could be improving but deep down, you are scared you stepping back instead. Artists have huge attachments to their characters, more than people realize. I think I need do this with mine.
I've been subscribed since the beginning and this made me cry. Seeing old Emala again brought back a lot of childhood memories of me learning how to draw and it hit home. Thank you Emala Jiss for inspiring me to become a better artist 💗 it's now been well over 7 years 💗
this looks like old emala jiss has faded away but came back to tell the new emala jiss "even though I was loved by her and many during my prime. I hope that she and the many who knew about me will love you the same way they loved me". I been subscribed to this channel since 2014 and seeing this made me cry. But I understand why she made a new OC because when you get older you have different taste for certain things, but with some people it just stays. But we should also take this as a memory of the old Emala Jiss and show the new one the same amount of love because that's what she would want.(rip old Emala Jiss 2014-2020)
This has now given me inspiration to do a piece where my first OC and my current one meet, so thanks for the idea! Plus, that ending almost had me in tears. Love your work!

Sad to see the old one go as I loved her style, but do what makes you happy and that all I say is never forget what she was like before. As she helped make you a CZcamsr and that I cant wait for upcoming speedpaints.
This actually hurt my soul. The final production was for some reason, almost heart wrenching.

Ugh! I’m cryinggg, the way she made her fade away and the dialog she says is just saddd! To be honest, Emala (the artist) was the one who got me into to drawing Mlp and seeing the OC that I loved and did fan art of for so many years go is kinda sad but in a good way. It’s shows that the channel is evolving and the OC is also along with it, it’s a happy goodbye ^^

Old Emala is literally the representation of my childhood, man. I grew up with her :c I like the new Emala a lot, but I will never love her as much as I did with the old Emala. I will never stop drawing her, I promise... I can't let her go cuz she's kind of the only part of my childhood that I still have left....

This is actually so cute. I love drawing scenes with my OC's meeting
I legit had the same reaction to my ocs after replacing my main with a new one. The Oc I made was for a story that me and my friends were making, and I was one of the main writers. The first oc I made was something that came to me out of the blue, but I loved that oc so much, to the point where I embodied that Oc. But during a span of months writing her, she started going under many revamps and design changes to fit the storyline, since I wanted her to look unique and different from the others, but it only hindered my ability as both a writer and an artist. Eventually I decided to let that oc go after the events of the first book. It pained me to see that oc go since I have grown emotionally attached to her, but I took that as an inspiration to create a new character, someone that was inspired by her. I treated the process as some sort of "passing the torch" kind of thing. I was both sad and happy at the same time, but I kept on doing my work nonetheless.

Damn. This made me think of my main OC, Catty. Back when I first made her back in 2008 (when I was 5), Catty was just a simple black cat that could talk. Now, she's a fursona of mine, complete with hair and clothes. And not to forget, seeing the old Emala again made me go back in time. I remember watching your vids back then and then become inspired to draw mlp in a similar style. Without you, I would have never found my art style today. You, and many others, have inspired me to draw the way I draw now, and the creaitivity you all share. I hope that this Emala gets the same love as the other did. I love your art, as well as you!
