How To Make A Symmetrical Front Facing Arrangement

- In this video we show you how to make a very traditional style of arrangement - the symmetrical front facing design. This design works well from small scale to large pedestal versions, and the basics will allow you to create your own version. The overall look will differ depending on what materials you use and you should finish up with a triangular shape, but the way to create it remains the same. Why not have a go and make your own classic arrangement.
Ingredients - roses, carnations, phlox, fatsia, French ruskus, aspidistra, leatherleaf fern and eucalyptus.

@@FlowerJoos I took horticulture in high school and never forgot floral arrangement basics. It has really added to my life through the years. Some people like to paint, sculpt ect but I find joy in floral arrangement with bouquets, wreaths ect. It really is a joy. You are so lucky. All those lovely smells too lol. Cheers!

We do it the other way around, starting off with the smallest flower up the top and getting bigger the further down the arrangement you go.
croccatcher thanks for commenting - it will be interesting to see the feedback on this, everyone might have their own way, or preference for flowers! We just wanted to look at how to approach a basic traditional design.
Flower Joos that's okay John, your in Scotland so maybe things are done different there from here. When I did my front facing at the front on the bottom it was brought out more and foliages and flowers was added. You make it look so easy with the flower placements.

Have you had professional training or are you self taught? You are amazing! Do you have a flower shop?
I really learned in the job - but later I went on lots of day or two day courses and summer schools. So learning off others and courses. I used to work in different shops then had my own business for 10 years , then lastly I worked in a florist department in a hotel. Now I do this channel and the odd floral demonstration 😀🙋🏼♂️

How long would fresh flowers last in this type pf arrangements?
It just depends where they are placed, how they are cared for and the ambient temperature - so anywhere between a week and two weeks is possible , maybe longer but only on a cool room.
The best help is checking if it needs water every day 😀🙋🏼♂️
