I traded a 2020 1250 RT for a 2022 K 1600 B and I love it. On both motorcycles I got rid of the hard Metzler tires that come stock and contribute to highway speed instability. I replaced them with Michelin GT Road 5, and Michelin GT Road 6's, respectively. Both bikes rode and performed SIGNIFICANTLY better. The instability was instantly GONE, I ride at 75-85 mph all the time, with 42 psi, and the bike feels like an IMPROVED motorcycle. The Michelins absorb smaller road irregularities much better, allowing a more continuous, and smooth ride on the bike, and more trusted cornering. My Audi and my wife's Caddy XT 5 run Michelin tires. They absolutely ROCK!!!

Yes, I endorse this. You have identified the issue spot on. It's the tires that are the dynamic. I, too, have had the bagger, and on my 3rd change of tires, I was advised by a tire dealer to shift.. and the change made it a whole new bike ride. In fact, the bagger comes into its full form with the tires change. 👍🏻

Hi, I own a 2019 k1600b for 3 years now and I can confirm you that this the most fantastic bike I've ever drove. The weaving problem is real, but it happens only when you're in the 'cruise' suspension mode, which is too soft for speeds above 60 kmh. I never use it and have never problem. Crazy sound engine, absolute confort, nimble like a bike, best motorbike ever. Cheers from Lille, France.

The review was great, and the feedback is great as well. I just bought mine, but delivery is not until next month. I got this because all my other bikes gas mileage dives after 80 mph. Not that I want to go over 100 for ling periods, but If I am upwards of 80 I would like to maintain some mileage. My RT was great, but the engine buzzes and I got harmonic pitches at around 70. The gas mileage dives, especially between LA and LV. I like that big smooth engine on a big bike. If it goes well I will but an exhaust and a tune on it. If not, right back to the RT.

I think the "weave" is an aerodynamic problem. After all, from the seat forward, the bike is identical to the GT and GTL models which don't have the issue.

Wish the bags on this bike were top loading. How often to the valves need to be adjusted on this bike if not done during warranty.....I guess the letters BMW would suggest very expensive... Guys let me try to help. I have a new 2022 Grand America and 2023 Goldwing DCT Tour. The wobble issue in rough air or interstate full of trucks is real!! The real problem is the Tourpack. To greatly reduce the wobble I have done the following. I removed the tourpack with Leadbetter’s removal kit. The Bridgestone tires are garbage and I replaced them with Michelin Road GT6’s, went to Jurock windshield, and replaced the floorboards with Ilium engine guards and rotatable foot pegs. I have had many Harleys and the BMW floorboards suck in my opinion. This has greatly reduced the high speed wobble. It hates to be behind trucks on interstate. Some say the Wunderlich vented windshield helps a lot. This is clearly a aerodynamic problem. If you ride 2-up with someone blocking airflow over tourpack or put a piece of luggage to breakup air in front of tourpack definitely helps. All this being said this is the most exciting motorcycle I have ever owned or ridden. PERFORMANCE IS INCREDIBLE!! No bagger can touch it and I have had Harleys, new Indian Challenger. It is supremely comfortable. This is a heavy sport touring bike. I have the new Goldwing as it is the best long distance touring motorcycle for interstate touring undeniably. Though the performance isn’t even close to the other bike above fourth gear the BMW will walk away. Hope this helps.

If I was long distance not on interstate would be Grand America, then GS then Goldwing then 1250 RT. If in mountains would be GS first, then R T, K1600 B, then Goldwing. My 2020 K1600b was like a breath of fresh air in comparison and I traded in the RT for it in 2021. Again I only sat on the bike but I knew instantly it was right for me. I got the 2022 model after a visit to my local dealer with my wife. She took an instant shine to it and asked me if I’d like it. In short she bought the bike for me after a really good trade in deal for my other K1600b.

BMW should be ashamed of the stereo! The wind noise is awful and the bags are stupid with their side openings. I love the bike but BMW needs to pull their heads out of their asses with 4 or 5 short comings. If they fix them, it would be the perfect bike.

I have an 18 model year B. I'd buy a new one if BMW would fix the high speed weave issue. They haven't so I won't. If BMW would fix it, they's sell a heck of a lot more of them.

@@joshmorrisofficial I rode touring Harleys for years, but, as an old guy, the weight of those bikes was becoming an issue. At 750 lbs. the K1600 is noticeably lighter, plus the elec. reverse can save me some parking lot embarrassments! Honestly, it's a double-edged sword. On a winding two lane highway, the bike is a delight. Traveling down the interstate is pretty aggravating. Is everyone here aware that BMW put a 103 mph limiter on the GA due to the high-speed instability issue? Other than that "fix" BMW has chosen to ignore the problem. (Imagine, a $30,000 dollar motorcycle that can't outrun a Suzuki Burgman scooter!) It's bad enough that when someone else is riding along on their bike, they can see mine moving around. A touring bikes' most fundamental ability should be stability in a straight line. I think that makes it a failure as a touring bike.

K 1600 B owners...scrap the #$%!@# Metzler tires for Michelin GT Road 6's...problem solved!!! Promise. I have 4700+ miles on my 22 B and I almost took it back to BMW due to the ride quality to either buy another 1250 RT or a DCT Goldwing. The Michelin tires changed my 'zero wobble' world. If I were a rich guy I'd buy a round of Michelin GT Road 6's...for everyone! Truly.
