Now that we're on the topic of Pokémon, I'd love to see Nathaniel watch and rank every single episode of the anime and the movies like he did with SpongeBob and now's a perfect time with the announcement that Ash will be leaving next year.

The worst part about this is that GameFreak is probably going to continue releasing Pokémon games like this considering Scarlet/Violet still sold over 10 million copies during its opening weekend despite all of the bugs and performance issues
that skit at the end is just way too accurate oh my god
also the reaspn scvi doesn't have some of the features legends arceus did is because, as far as I'm aware at least, both games started development at the same time, so logically they couldn't have known which features to keep and which features to remove. sure being able to catch pokémon without starting a battle would be nice, but given this context, i get why that idea wasn't incldued in scvi

What's worse is that IIRC, the storm effects were actually fixed in Gen V. The effects were very quick and you didn't need to see the storm loop every single turn it was there. That game to this day is still the fastest paced Pokemon Generation which is very sad. Btw that ending skit is perfect and I can imagine that exactly happening.
This game was the first real Pokemon game I’ve ever played and uh, let’s just say… This probably wasn’t the game to start out with lol

I genuinely thought the games were pretty good you can see the love and effort put into the game but like ur end credits screen shows they don’t have enough time to be pumping out games legends was releced 8months ago and then BDSP was realsed 12 months ago following covid. The devs are clearly working pretty hard I just thing game freak is trying to pump as much game out as posssible rather than quality.

Buy Legends, don't buy this.
I loved the game, but most of its issues could be solved simply by giving the devs more time to polish it on a technical level. That's basically all that's missing from this.
@@heavydonkeykong5190 if u gave gamefreak more time. They gonna use that time for another game that somewhat ties to another game. Why waste time doing one game when u can make 2 or even 3 games. Its becomes crystal clear thats how they gonna be going forward. If you want pokemon games to be great again dont buy any games that was produced by gamefreak period. But if u still craving those ps2 quality graphics and cut corners then preorder their games and have fun wasting 60$.
@@annedrieck7316 I'm not saying game freak is making good decisions (and even then, it could be higher ups and not the devs themselves) but I loved Pokemon Violet despite the technical performances (which thankfully never went beyond minor annoyances in my playthrough). I didn't waste any money.
My head cannon is that Nathaniel was just making the script and Bathaniel was genuinely just getting in the way
So, we here in Latin America and Portugal wanted the games to be translated to portuguese and latin spanish, we even made an moviment that got pretty big just to make pokemon company translate the games. And their response was an "Nah. Good luck next time"
So the game that takes place in a region inspired by Spain and Portugal... don't get translated into Spanish and Portuguese.
That's one of the dumbest things that have happened in my life so far. They're basically telling you guys that you can't enjoy the game based off of your country in your native language. It's almost hilarious.

I was battling a Jigglypuff with my Houndoom as soon as Houndoom came out of his PokeBall he was sleeping he was never put to sleep. I used Flame Charge. Houndoom did the attack and never woke up. He was like yeah this isn't worth my time. Honestly I like the game. Seeing the random glitches can be funny.
I just got started with violet. So far, the game looks okay. Happy to help animate again btw.
THE FACT THAT THERE ARE POKÉMON THAT EVOLVE WITH WALKING/STEPS AND THEY DONT KEEP UP WITH YOU IS THE MOST FRUSTRATING THING.

My problem with this gen is that some times the people in it have animation that looks really realistic that it looks weird
I think a fun thing about these games is the naming potential from random raids. Like, I caught a Varoom with the Electric tera type and named it Hybrid and an Eevee with the Ghost tera type and then evolved it into a Leafeon and named it Deciduous
I just wanna say, ive never seen a Pokemon game get such a mixed reception before. You see plenty of people saying its a new beginning, and plenty saying its an embarrassment.
Not like Sword and Shield where most thought it was trash and there were just some people saying "Its not that bad!" or "Its a kids game what do you expect"
Now to be fair to SWSH it was VERY vocal minority who hated the game, the kind of peopole who follow Distant Kindom to be clear. Most peopole probably liked the game more than SV because SW/SH didn't have so many bugs and glitches and even if for 60€ was a bit of an overprice it was still a compleat and polished experience. SV is on the other hand a broken but fun mess with great characters but an empty openworld. Many interesting thing are tied to the school and are just long blocks of tex, when it would have been much better to create interesting sidequest. For example the exams could have involved catching or breeding a specific Pokemon, maby with a specific move or a specific number in a stat.
My understanding has been that Scarlet/Violet has a solid foundation, it is just buggy and runs like shite.
So your enjoyment depends heavily on how much you are bothered by this

S/V has been the most fun Pokemon game for me because the new addition of playing with your friends outside of battles has been amazing. I just wished the game was actually polished in performance because the load times for stuff like joining raids can be obnoxious at times.

A gripe I have with the game is that there's only Paldean forms for just two Pokemon. Also, Dunsparce got stiffed with it's evolution. On the bright side, I really like how we're just riding a Legendary, Iono's design and everything about Arven.
Careful. If you say anything negative about Dudunsparce, the fanboys will dog pile you with comments about how Dunsparce is perfect, so more Dunsparce is a great evolution for it or how Dunsparce is just a joke pokemon, so it's your fault for expecting it to have a cool, fearsome evolution.

So, overall, this game has good gameplay changes similar to the transition from Super Mario Party to Mario Party Superstars. However, it has the performance of games like FNAF Security Breach.

The only knock people have is glitches and that’s mostly nothing major unless you’re in multiplayer or doing something on purpose.

The most annoying thing by far is how easy it is to accidentally get into wild pokemon battles, I got that countless of times with Tauros.

That's thing. There is so much they have done right, it easily cancels out what they do wrong. It's a refreshing change to see a pokemon storyline that isn't about the end of world, or some superweapon, or world domination, just a guy wanting his dog to get better.
