- Halloweenfest 2015 has begun! Matt is heading back in time with Sir Daniel Fortesque once more with Medievil 2! Zarok has been defeated, but misguided souls still wish to use his dreaded power to rule the world. Fortesque has risen again to reluctantly try to save the day!

the reason for the PS1's higher framerate was the strange way the graphics memory was designed, rather unconventionally the memory wasn't just memory, it was very specifically sized blocks, it was basicly 1 big image (I say big, but 1024 by 512 won't even fill a screen nowadays) given part of it was already taken up by the screen buffer (the image sent to your tv) and all of the draw calls (information about how to draw the models) were included in it, there wasn't enough room to overwhelm the console.
The fact they never made Medievil 3 is criminal especially with the cliffhanger ending with Zarok and Palethorn seemingly fused, who owns the rights to Medievil now is it Sony?
Technically, there was a sequel for the PSP that was rather good
Well it was a remake of the first game so it doesn't really count
+Dynasty Heroes I think the same creators still own the series. SCE Cambridge Studio (now Guerilla Cambridge) just never made it...but yeah! Its is criminal to not make a sequel to these wonderful games. I have only been waiting for a sequel for 13 years! Still love all 3 games. :p

I always thought with Palethorn it was the fact that he was New Money, he came from a poor family and did not have the "Blue Blood" so to speak. Still, raising the dead is the wrong way to go about it.

I loved the first as a classic, never heard of this one until lately and so far... well? I'll see how this plays out, looking forward to this playthrough!
YAAAY! MediEvil 1 and 2, and The Spyro Trilogy are the best PS1 games ever. I like MediEvil 2 more so for the nostalgia factor as I owned that first but I think MediEvil was better in specific ways. I just finished Lets Plays of this last summer and just started MediEvil 1 for Halloween. lol. I'm just playing it in the order that I played it growing up. lol. I'm so glad to see there's more people still Lets Playing this game and keeping the spirit alive. lol. Convenient phrase.

A funny thing about this is that you started it while Kingdom Hearts II is ongoing. You ran the first MediEvil game while you were running the first Kingdom Hearts game 3 years ago.

Also I may be remembering this wrong since it's been years since I played but I think there is an alternate way to fight the first form of that boss where you go up to the top floor and the boss will approach where you're stood, attack, and then summon the smaller dinos, and you had to get up on the boss's back to hit the brain, but even then I think Matt's method is way faster than mine

6:16 Sir Daniel fortesque isn't taking prisoners this game
If I was the writer, I would have had Fortesque regain his lower jawbone. Then when introduced to the pistol, I would have had him examine it with curiosity and end up blowing off his jawbone and losing it again followed by a deep pitiful sigh from Fortesque lol.

I found a copy of this game a few months ago. Didn't even have the top of the jewel case and yet it still works.

Does this game have widescreen? I didn't know there were PS1 games that supported it. Most of the high profile PS2 releases didn't even have widescreen. Either that, or Medievil 2 just happens to look nice stretched.

I can agree with Johnny-- I don't like what they did with Daniel's voice in MediEvil 2. At least Resurrection got it right besides to emulate the first game by making Daniel sound muffled to go with the fact he doesn't have a jaw anymore.

Medievil II? That's interesting. I'm personally not too big a fan since the first game bored the hell out of me, but hopefully this one can keep my interest high. Also, the description says Zavok instead of Zarok.

The basically the entire first story arc of the evil dead comics. Or basically the plot line for ashes storylines, in between evil dead the TV series and Army of darkness! By the way please watch on stars evil dead TV series starting at the end of October!

I love both of the Medievil games, but somehow Dan's voice got on my nerves in the second one, even when I first played this as a kid back in 2000.

Well looks like the end of this year is the sequals of some of SGB best hits!!! First KH2(well i should say threequel, in this case XD), now MediEvil 2 will come next???
KH2 is getting a break soon, there's still at least about 30-40 parts left and they've said they'll give it a break once they finish Hollow Bastion to do other games, then they'll finish it up properly

They used to use headsets, but that means a lot more editing. External mics means fewer audio tracks and better pickup, meaning less trouble overall. Plus no one can accidentally mute themselves
